Doctors are regularly incorrect as well and its hard to say whether or not they're your best shot at solving a problem. It really depends. I would say consider all the information you're given, including videos on the internet, as they can easily teach you things about a problem that doctors/nurses simply don't have time to explain. Though, having a doctor's opinion won't hurt... probably.
@TovenDo.O.Video-

Doctors aren't trustworthy either, they fuck up all the time. Best strategy would be to listen to multiple doctors and consider the opinion of the majority but that's rarely viable.

Best thing you can do is vet doctors and find one that has your best interest. Some care about your well-being. A lot are legal drug dealers and your body is a walking cash cow. Do your own research. We all have the ability to critically think. Use it! Only recently we have been told to not research and give up total anatomy control. You only have one body. Guard it with your life. Otherwise you won’t have one.

One of my favorite facts about the body: in most minor sicknesses, most of the symptoms you feel aren’t the bacteria infecting you, but your body fighting back.
@djones02
@djones02 2 месяца назад
One of my mind blowers was the fact that most diseases aren't named after the specific germ they are named after the symptoms your body has or the location. I always assumed that doctors looked at your symptoms, diagnosed your problem as this specific virus and gave you the medication for it. Nope! They often just treat the symptoms or use broad antibiotics and hope the body fights it off. A lot of medicines are to counteract the side-effects of the other drugs you are on if they are really nasty. My daughter was less than a day old and was rushed into the NICU. She spent several weeks fighting an unknown infection. They never figured out what the infection was and said she had Sepsis. I looked up what Sepsis was and it's basically the body hurting itself from fighting an infection.
@pppp3997
@pppp3997 2 месяца назад
@djones02 Yes, especially most of the first line of drugs, just treating the symptoms. Not even antibiotics. It has its risk to use antibiotics. I always googled the drugs I took, learning how they work. It's very interesting.
@neilhenderson5581
@neilhenderson5581 2 месяца назад
@@djones02 The concept of germs is very new historically speaking, not even 200 years old. Medicine has existed for thousands of years before that. Without a clear understanding of the root causes of sickness, it makes sense to assess things by what can be observed.

@@djones02yes. Most diseases can be cured by our own body. Doctors give medicines because people complain about the symptoms (because of the unpleasantness or they need to work). Hence the medicines are symptomatic rather than definitive. Only a few diseases actually need definitive therapy. Some other diseases are literally incurable and the only thing we can do is prevent the progression.

Thank you so much for making this to help spread this information. I can't remember how many times I've had to tell someone, especially an overreacting mother, that fever is not the cold itself but the body fighting it off, and that you didn't have to immediately stop the fever just because it's there. I used to work at a daycare and I was always surprised at the lack of this knowledge. (edit: spell check)

FINALLY i 100% understand how FEVER work!! wow, our body and immune system is soooo beautiful, i'm crying 😭 i just know that fever is our body defense system, because HEAT will kill the virus and bacteries. we even use kemotherapy, which is HEATING UP, for cancer. 5:20 this explanation is wonderful! hmm... since cancer cell is very good at camouflage, so the body not detecting something wrong and not activating fever that much, right? that's why kemotherapy exist. is there a medicine to "actually" activate fever? not to suppress it? imagine, we know we had something wrong in our body, but our body didn't response with fever, so no defense system. we can "manually" heating ourselves with "something". also maybe that's why Work Out is good, because it makes our body HOT too, right? is Work Out have same theory as Fever? also i usually use Heat Balm when i feel something bad in my body, like headache, or "cold" lung. the HEAT is really makes me feel better, and i hope by doing this, i heating up the cell in that area, then the cell invected will be produce more HSP, so the immune system inside me will know which cell that they should kill. haaaaa this is very wonderful video and makes me at ease!! thank youuu

There's a video by kurz that tells all possible microbes in life even those that aren't discovered yet to man have an antithesis. In theory, one can survive literally every single pathogen, including the absolute deadliest, provided the immune system knows how to deal with it. When I was in my 20s, I had a fever of 41C for about 2 days before I was taken to the hospital. It was so bad I was hallucinating. The dr said that less than 1C higher and I would have started getting brain damage. Later, when I was in the army; I suffered from heat stroke a few times and my body has never been able to regulate my temperature properly since. It really sucks. Imagine not being able to work out, do things you used to enjoy, or even just go outside on warm days without instantly getting sick and throwing up because your body can't tolerate a temperature just a few degrees above normal. The difference between a fever that someone can just get over and one that can be severe enough to alter your life is so close that it is better safe than sorry and just go to a dr.

I’m so sorry you have to deal with it. I have temp regulation problems due to a genetic thing. I hate summer because of it, and I live in the Southern US. I basically have to stay inside all summer and even going to a doctor’s appointment is really hard; I had a fever for two days after getting out last time. I also have chronic pain and heat helps, but if I fall asleep with the heating pad on, I wake up with a fever, soaked through, and miserable. But because of my other health issues I also get fevers just from stress. I had a fever for three months straight before my wedding, during the height of COVID, so I couldn’t get my dress altered for the longest time. People seem to not get how much it impacts what you do. I don’t even like eating very hot food (especially soups or pasta or mashed potatoes) because I’m hot for like an hour after I eat. It’s ridiculous!

One thing I’ve learned from pharmacy school, is that if you are ever unsure as to whether you should use an anti-pyretic (anti fever) drug such as Tylenol, you can always contact your local pharmacist and they can give you some guidance such as whether it’s ok to stay home and rest vs. should you go to the doctor. They can also advise you on when you should and shouldn’t take Tylenol or other anti-fever medications. While I am not comfortable going over the guidelines I’ve learned in school here since I have not yet passed my NAPLEX (the USA pharmacy national certification exam) I am comfortable saying that part of a pharmacist’s training involves multiple courses in “self care therapeutics”, which involves steps to identifying what is and is not an immediately refer to doctor type of illness. I wish everyone here to stay happy and healthy and please wish me luck as I continue with my pharmacy training ^^

i was a sickly kid. would have permanent colds and coughs for 7-8 months a year, and only getting better in the summer. i always forgot to take meds and just kept rawdogging my illnesses. i was also a dirty kid too lazy to focus on hygiene. years later, as an adult, i never get sick. a few weeks ago i got my first cold in 4-5 years, and it passed within 2 days without medicine cuz once again, i forgot about them even though i bought them. this made me realize that perhaps relying on meds only means ur immune system loses the opportunity to become stronger. i have friends who regularly get sick, or have random headaches, or something else randomly hurting. i cant remember the last time i had a headache
@diablo.the.cheater
@diablo.the.cheater 2 месяца назад
You are semi right, medicines are best to fix the inmune system doing stupid stuff that is self destructive or to control out of control infections that you can't fight back. Well and vacciness which are like training manuals for your inmune system so it can get strong before even being infected, usually this is good for disseases that leave bad permanent side effects even if your inmune system can eventually defeat the main dissease or for disseases that kill you before your inmune system can fight it back. Most medicines are symptomatic to make yourself functional by disabling sysmtoms that your inmune system created to fight, this actually makes the illness slightlyt worse but allows you to not have to rest even if you feel like shit longer.
@ushankaman6143
@ushankaman6143 2 месяца назад
@@diablo.the.cheater yeah i def get vaccines. and one time when i was a kid, i got this SERIOUS illness (idk what its called in english) but its like a flu but on steroids. i was basically puking out green phlegm by the jar-fuls, and was hospitalized, getting injected with an unknown substance regularly. in that case, meds def helped me i think. but for ur average illnesses, like a common cold or a fever, i feel like taking meds only harms u in the long run. unless ur immune system is so weak that u have no choice but to take meds
@fele09
@fele09 2 месяца назад
I think the same, my grandma and mother used to take pills (to combat fever) always and soon I realized they needed more everytime. Something inside my mind told me that wasnt good so I started to take medicine only when I can barely think, refusing theirs offers. Now when I get sick (like amost never) I take 1 pill when feeling TOO bad and get better. I didnt even got COVID or if I got it never realize it was (never feel too bad like my friends told me it was, or lost smells or taste). The only thing I suffer a lot is bacterial tonsillitis, there was a time I got ill every other month, detected it was when I smoked in outside cold nights. That was like 5 years ago. Remember one time I got 39C fever for like 2 days and cant even open my eyes or think, still didnt take medicine for fever only antibiotics. Now my girlfriend works with little children so she is ill almost everytime (in winter) and take a pill for almost everything. When she infect me I get one day mildly ill and then restored. I get people take medicine to keep being functional but I think is bad on the long run. Luckily I have a job where I can say I feel bad and they let you rest for the day without medical license.

My foster parents at the time refused to get me to the hospital, so I’m honestly surprised I didn’t get critically ill or anything. Shit was awful: I was throwing up all the time, dehydrated, I couldn’t move and when I did my body felt so heavy I felt like I was gonna collapse. When it comes to children, fever is thought to be more important than in adults (and why theirs are higher): they haven't been alive long enough to train their immune system against common pathogens in their environment. The don't even yet have the full array of antibodies (this takes until around age 10). So the body has to rely on the means available. Pro tip from experience. And I barely get fever and it’s not super bad if I do. Wrap yourself up. With loads of water next to your bed. Sweat it out. Help your body with increasing your temperature while not exhausting the energy resources. Plenty of hydration and in one night fever is gone. Even do this for common cold. Sniffles? Sore throat, coughing? Anything cold related. Wrap up in bed, hot tea, sweat it out. And you’re good as gold in no time. Told this tip to a colleague, she had an ongoing cold for couple of weeks. No fever. I told her to sweat it out. Next time I saw her. She felt the difference. 😊👍 I’m with fever on this one. Will keep in mind to avoid anything with meds in it. Just vitamins and tea 🙌

The last time I was properly ill, I developed a pretty intense fever. I called out of work, but since I work in a right-to-work-for-nothing state in the US, my work told me I either had to go in, or go to the doctors right then and there. It was the middle of summer, and feeling lethargic and miserable, I got into my car. Almost instantly I stopped shivering, felt way more lively, and stopped wishing for my life to end then and there. The inside of the car was boiling hot, usually I start expiring instantly, but I drove all the way to the doctors with the windows up and the AC off, and felt almost like I wasn’t sick. Didn’t sweat a single bead. I’m not saying this was a good thing to do, I’d much rather have stayed in bed and continued wishing that the world would have the decency to stop existing for a few moments, but it was an interesting phenomenon.

The way my family treats fever is the second it seems you have one you are COVERED in blankets and forced lukewarm liquids not allowed out untill you're better, so normally 1 to 2 days. It is usually a warm heaven but if it's caught early it feels like hell😅 I swear by this method, I think "helping" your body stay warm and retain the heat gets the healing process done in a timely manner

I mean you basically just took a drive in a sauna? Many people appreciate a sauna when they're pretty sick and your experience reminded me of that.
@trilloff
@trilloff 2 месяца назад
It's your skin shivers that make the fever way worse. If you can keep your body warm enough to reduce stress of your body producing the heat, you can get rid of the shivers and some of the lethargy. Another way I love is to take a near scalding-hot shower for 5 minutes. No shivers, skin pain is gone, headache mostly gone. But, you should definitely lie in bed afterwards because hot water can trigger your body to cool down.
@KWifler
@KWifler 2 месяца назад
Yeah, just have medical saunas for sick people. It doesn't make sense not to do it. And the sauna place could sign a doctor's note to get you out of work. It seriously is nonsensical that no one in the medical industry has thought of this.

For me, the most unpleasant thing about fever is the fact that sometimes it makes you unable to get some zz’s. Your body temperature will drop naturally whenever you go sleep and yet your body does the exact opposite of it. Very upsetting indeed.

Same. The first time I got covid it was hell. I had an awful fever, lost about half my taste and all my smell, muscle cramps, dizziness, shortness of breath (which was scary cause I have asthma). Whole thing lasted for almost a month. Second time it wasn't that bad at all. Only sick for about 10 days, but everything was much manageable. Never felt so proud of my body kicking butt (also glad for that vaccine, worked wonders).

Most of the feel bad symptoms are your body actively waging ear against the infection.
