I don't care if this song is somewhat "simple" - its hauntingly beautiful and I find myself whistling the melody throughout the day. Definitely would have worked well in Dark or 1899 (RIP). I love this third album from Fever Ray!
I definitely don't think I would use the word "simple" to describe the sound of the track. I've never really considered myself to be especially melodically inclined, but the melody is certainly holding its own and driving the entire composition. However, everything else that's "just atmosphere" is very interesting. Maybe it's because I like soundscapey (Yes, I made up that word.) music in general? I do I obviously see how it deviates from the rest of the tracks and this, as a closing track for the album was a perfect choice in my opinion. I get why you use the word simple, but somehow I still find endless things to analyze in the soundscape and melody. Kind of especially the melody, but I am an odd duck, I guess.
You don't know how happy we are to hear you revisited the old sounds we love so much, while introducing new ones. Thank you.....! from my husband (long time fan) and I. Love and light!
Is this the revamped track from a charity album almost a decade ago? I believe it was called No Face. I definitely enjoy it now, back then I thought it was boring.
Yeees, indeed - I was desperately looking for this title knowing that I heard this before as some b-side or something. True, it does sound more interesting now. Very nice album closing track imho
I had heard it and I think it was called something to do with that anime with the ghost face fella with the scream type mask. It escapes me. But daaaamn
Aw haha I was really hoping for a brand new track for the closer, but it’s cool to hear the differences between this and the original cut of the track. Also love the new name for the song as well. What a fantastic album holy shit
@@a.a7160 this is a rework of a song called No Face they released under their full name instead of Fever Ray. If I remember correctly it was originally made to go on a compilation album for a relief project?
It's only my opinion, but this is a type of vibe that we love so much in oldest album. Cold, mystic in some sense pagan melodies. Would like to hear the new album of this type of songs
I love your work, Karin. I gave a vinyl of myself to one of your technicians called "Claroscuro" when you played in Warsaw, Poland. I hope that you received it! Hugs!
Fantastic album have to say though on day one this is the only song I'm disappointed with. Dont dislike it just find it a bit boring. It is no coconut lol. Otherwise I'd rate the album an 8.5/10 today. I hope this one does really well for them 🐑
