Ingredients for the chocolate cake (28x18 cm) or for a round baking pan 26 cm:
2 medium-sized eggs
a pinch of salt
8 g vanilla sugar
80 g of sugar
80 ml milk (room temperature)
40 g odorless vegetable oil
110 g flour
20 g of cocoa
5 g baking powder
Chocolate cake is baked for about 20 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius (340°F) upper-lower heat without convection on medium rail until it is ready and checked with a wooden stick to keep it dry and clean
275 g of finished puff pastry
bake the puff pastry strips for about 20 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (400°F) top-bottom heat without convection on medium rack
Ingredients for the cream:
bring 350 ml of milk to a boil
100 g of sugar
8 g vanilla sugar
35 g cornstarch (or 1 pack of pudding powder)
2 Eggs
150 ml of cold milk
200 ml cold whipped cream (min. 30% Fat)
16 g vanilla sugar
Ingredients for the cherry layer:
30 g cornstarch
150 g of sugar
500 g of thawed sour cherries ( pitted)
100 g dark chocolate as decoration
