South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod 2023 Secondary A Mixed Choirs African Prescribed Western Cape Conductor: Monde Mdingi Soloists Soprano: Siphosethu Makalima Baritone/Tenor: Lilitha Nekhwevha
This is a brilliant performance 🎭 but position 1 deserved it; they had a better soprano solo; a better tenor/bass solo. Fezeka quartet comes above every other school HEAD AND SHOULDERS. But overall performance, definitely Empangeni.
Beautiful tonal expression and amazing vocal relay and attack I also love the energy and excitement of the conductor however the general presentation of the song was wrong and completely wrong and that's the only reason they did not win it,the story is in the past with nice memories and due to loosing everything the person is sad, kehlokile tsebe ya ngwana meaning I did not listen to my parents the whole thing is in the sad style so it should not sound cheerful and conductor shouldn't be dancing for such a sad news so fezeka presentation did not compliment the song uya regreta lomuntu Nina niyajabula
I don’t think you know what a conductor is and his purpose on stage. He directs the voices to produce THE SOUND. The criticism is based on the conductor but the choir is carrying the emotion of the composer quite well. Maybe don’t watch but listen only🎧 see if you still feel the same 🙏🏾
