New bike! I've loved riding the ‪@aribikes‬ Timp Peak and feel grateful it's part of my quiver. In this video, I dive into Fezzari's business model, my custom build, how the bike rides, and eMTB etiquette. I hope you enjoy the video and find it useful :)

I was totally stoked when you mentioned that you were riding this in Capitol Forest. I mainly ride out of Mima and Fall Creek. I would love to see you make a video of the Timp Peak on some of those trails.

Battery life comment: if you have a Garmin, it will connect to your Shimano unit via BLE and you can setup your garmin watch or other device to show single digit battery life. I have a Forerunner 955 and I use the simple Emtb data field. No more guessing how far you can stretch the battery!

I’ve had my Timp Peak for 5 months now and it’s an amazing bike. Hit the most extreme terrain on the east coast and it handles everything. A saddle suggestion is Ergons SM E-Mountain Core. It is probably the best saddle I’ve ever ridden and the first time I don’t need padded shorts; even on a 4 hour ride. Enjoy!

Great video explanation point I just received the email that my temp Peak is packed and will ship in a couple days. I wish I saw your video on your dvo coil shock before placing the order. I didn't know they would do that. By any chance do you know what weight spring they put in there? Thanks

You mentioned the Transition Relay was one of the plushes feeling bikes but didn’t have as much pop. We know the Timp likes to pop and jump but how is it in terms of Plushness? Also, how does it compare in terms of handling and changing directions? How is it in terms of steeps tight switchbacks? I know you were on a Med Relay and a Large Timp so the Reach is quite a bit different. I’m considering one of these two bikes and don’t care too much about Range or Big rides since I can borrow my brothers 22 Levo any time since he barely touched it (under 200 miles in almost 2 years)

Timp peak! I have the TP, a stumperjumper evo and a kenevo sl. TImp peak is by far my best bike! Much more fun.
@MTB_Corbin
@MTB_Corbin 11 месяцев назад
Hey, great questions! The plushness feels pretty much the same between the TP and Relay. I'd favor the TP but I've also taken it down much gnarlier trails than I did on the Relay (given I only tested it that one rainy day at Galby). The handling of the TP is good, although not as good as my analog bike (medium Yeti SB165). I was quick to adjust to the TP but there was a learning curve because it was the biggest bike I owned and first full 29r I spent time on. It takes some body language to move it around, but it's 100% doable. Due to the short chainstay, I didn't feel like I needed to make it a Mullet, although the option is there if you want added rear wheel maneuverability. This thing is an absolute monster in the steeps. It's built to be an enduro bike to ride/race anything. I have felt very comfortable pointing it downhill. Tight switchbacks is more related to the maneuverability. It does fine there, as good as I would expect a large 29r eMTB to do. But again, if you mullet it then the back end will be easier to move but you lose the rollover ability and speed of full 29r. Keeping as a 29r is the play for me because of how absolutely stable it is through all the chunder, it's a tank. But a tank I can jump and jib, quite the paradox. I'm glad I went with the large, although it was a tough choice. Something I didn't mention in the video is the medium TP in the sandblast color was out of stock so I would have had to wait longer. I don't like the blue color of the TP and that was also a driving factor for the large decision. However, I have now been debating selling my medium yeti to get a large analog enduro bike because I genuinely like the size of the TP. If you are between sizes then really both would work and work well and would excel at slightly different things. It's the same reasoning as downsizing or upsizing with any bike. Downsizing = more playful and maneuverability. Upsizing = more stable and faster. I also think battery really does play a role. Even if I only have an hour or an hour and a half to ride and wont kill the battery of either bike, it's nice knowing that I truly don't have to worry about what motor mode I'm in. Also the price difference is REALLY substantial for similar bikes with similar builds... I'm all about saving money too since we all know that bikes require constant maintenance regardless of the starting price point. Hope that helps!

Awesome bike! Would like to see a range test on trail mode! By the way, what is your weight because it is relevant with range ( I am 190-195lbs). Keep up the good work!

I got it (well almost). I attempted two different range test days this week using only trail mode. I ended up crashing both days and had to end the rides early, before absolutely killing the battery. Here's what I got on the most completed day. I'm about 170-175lbs with riding gear. My trail mode is set to a max torque of 70nm (default). I did 3,664ft of climbing in 1 hour and 15 minutes. 12.33 miles with an avg speed of 9.8mph. All climbing was done via access roads where the motor was working 100% of the time at max torque (which is more than it would be single track). I used at least 60% of battery life because I had to call it a day with 2/5 ticks of battery remaining. I would guess I had 30% battery life remaining. Trail mode gives plenty of assist and at it was awesome to bust out the laps in such a quick time. I also did an eco test recently: eco mode is set to a max torque of 56nm (default). I did 5,125ft of climbing in 2 hours. 16.4 miles (not sure avg speed). Climbs were done on same access roads as the range test. Battery life was between 34-40% when I was done for the day. Eco mode is a lot of assist and does more than "make it feel like an analog bike climbing" as some others would claim. Hope these help! I wanted to do the trail range test where I absolutely killed the battery, but crashes do happen haha
@ioannisparaskevopoulos1120
@ioannisparaskevopoulos1120 11 месяцев назад
@@MTB_Corbin Thank you very much for the info about the bike range, and sorry you had those crashes, they do happen! I guess at the maximum 85 NM of torque, range would be marginally less, but you can always adjust it. Seems like the stock settings provide more than enough range on the basic modes. Keep up the good work and upload more videos!

It looks like you’re on a 500lb coil spring. Is that a good spring for your weight? I’m 160lbs geared up and Fezzari recommended a 375-425 and I bought a 400lb and constantly bottom out
@MTB_Corbin
@MTB_Corbin 8 месяцев назад
Yeah 500lb spring sounds correct! I’m 170/175 with riding gear and it feels really good. My analog bike (yeti sb165 medium) has a 400lb spring on it which feels too low compared to the TP.

Hey Corbin! Quick question. How tall are you and how do you feel on the Large size? I am between sizes and I tend to go with Medium most of the time. For this Fezzari I am afraid though that the reach is too short. I'm 5'10 btw. Thanks!
@MTB_Corbin
@MTB_Corbin 9 месяцев назад
Hey Flo! I'm 5'10 as well and really enjoy the large size. My analog bike (yeti sb165) is a medium so the Fezzari is the largest bike I've ridden. I cut the fork length down to only have 10mm of spacers, coupled with the PNW range handlebars and a super short stem make the reach pretty much perfect for me.

i smashed my motor cover in the first 15 minutes of my first ride going over a downed tree trunk... motor cover is super brittle. really put a damper on my bike enjoyment. took me another 40 minutes to have any fun...which the bike is, it is super fun, but the motor cover being a weak point that in the northeast will always be tested by terrain is a bit of a let down... in Fezzaris defense they did agree to send me a new cover, however if it broke that easy the new one will also fail...
