FF Desiderium - The Landing (Reorchestration from Final Fantasy VIII)

❖ Today it's the turn of "The Landing", the penultimate track of my album Desiderium.
It definitely highlights my propensity toward Final Fantasy VIII among my favorite musical tracks.
This track was really a positive shock for me during the first landing for the Dollet mission. Maybe its cinematic nature merged with the cutscene allowed me to fully experience the emotion of that moment.
In the ps1 period we began to experience the first more cinematic songs such as in Metal gear solid, which had Harry Gregson Williams as a composer (music for films) but it was still not so common in video games. So this particular song made me officially a fan of Uematsu's music, but I admit that my first love was for the music of VII.
Today I'm sharing with you the Desiderium verison of this song, before released on my youtube, but with an improvement both in terms of orchestral sounds and as always of Mixing and Mastering crafted by Matteo Gallus at SounDream Studio.
"The Extreme" from Final Fantasy VIII is originally composed by the genius of Nobuo Uematsu who deserves the credit and value for this incredible music!

Yes indeed! I now remember that Hunter's chances from FF9 have a similar motif and that the first time I've heard it I've instantly thought that Nobuo Uematsu has plagiarized himself 🤣

That was wonderful! It feels like what a VIII Remake version could sound like! I too remember just how intense that track felt when it was beginning and how the camera would zoom in on Squall's face as it got slowly more intense.

Yes, I remember. Maybe at the time I was also able to immerse myself more in video games, now it's been too long since I played and even the time honestly lacks. Thinking back to that moment, to the desire to move forward in the plot, what incredible nostalgia!

I still find myself amazed by this beginning of the game and the influence this game had on my life. You knew how to keep the essence of the music, I'm not sure I would have noticed that it wasn't the original if I didn't know, that's saying something, it's so silkily recomposed. 🥰

Say what you want about FF8s story or gameplay or whatever you want. You can NEVER call it bad names for its music, this game had in my opinion the best music of any FF game.

Some of my fastest tapping of notifications comes when I see your FFVIII mixes. They are always amazing! I also added this on Spotify because nothing motivates me more during a workout than imagining that I am Squall storming Dollet. 😅 Thank you for keeping this great music alive and well, Enrico! ❤

Uno dei pezzi più belli del gioco.... Una parola per descrivere questo nuovo arrangiamento: CAPOLAVORO!! Non vedo l'ora di sentire tutti gli altri pezzi di FF riarrangiati. Ma poi ne farai di nuovi di arrangiamenti di FF, maestro, vero? VERO?! Il tema di quina è sempre in cima alla lista....😁
