I love how he says 'Free at last'. Since he has been a secret for so long, hidden deep within code and could only be freed by using a patch in the game's ROM.
Nice. I thought I knew pretty much everything in this game.. I’m 40 years old now and played this many times over the years and it’s still taking me to school. One of the greatest games ever made.
It’s not exactly a real boss. It was going to be in the game but they didn’t have enough time to finish it, so this is a fan interpretation of what the fight would have been like. Czar Dragon was actually later added to the Game Boy Advance version of FFVI officially as Kaiser Dragon!
38 here, I love this game so much! thanks to youtube I was able to see a logical way to get general leo and it was a feast! Haven´t tried, but it just makes me happy to know it can be done.
bribay my Terra does that too. I use Life/Life 2, and pheonix dwns too. Nothing works, but I can still heal in the overworld. Also can’t use Cure/ra/raga line in battle. (Because she takes dmg. Like she’s in Zombie status but she isn’t and Curaga kills her. Healing items dont work either, and nor does White Wind/ Sun Bathe.
*Czar Dragon convulses and twitches on the ground* Sabin: wtf!? Are you okay? *Czar Dragon dies silently* Sabin: That's all it took? A jump scare? o.O Terra: A little help please!? =_=;;
Currently getting into FF6, and these types of videos are amazing because of it. It must’ve been super fun doing this, along with a ton of other custom enemy mods that you made for the game.
AirbornePig Well the game tells you to use the 360 motion in the Blitz menu, so if any input could be considered "right" I would think it would be that one.
***** It's not. The blitz menu is (probably) deceptive. Completely forgoing diagonal inputs on the D-pad will give you a 100% success rate. Sometimes when you diagonally press it, you press the "up" direction slightly before the "left" so it'll register only the up and you'll miss the whole thing.
Well, this Czar Dragon is Identical to the Kaiser Dragon found in the FF6 remake, "FF6 Advance" for the DS. So, you can fight this one as you normally would fight Kaiser Dragon in FF6 Advance. My personal approach is to just pummel it to death with Blitzes, Sword Techniques, and Ninja Stars. :)
This looks awesome. I plan on playing FF6 soon and I want to try this. I always wished a square would have put this fight in the original game. Looks like good work. :)
Is this the best Final Fantasy boss ever? He has so many great and fearsome attacks and requires a really strong strategy to beat. I should probably look at the Dragon's Den now.
Czar is included in the same patch but is located on a different island, refer to what I wrote on the video description: "You can ALSO challenge the Czar Dragon in the WOR at an Island just off the shore of the southern most continent of the map south of Ailbrook"
@jr2nd That's because he is, in the GBA version Kefka only has 62,000 HP. Kaiser Dragon has 262,000 HP, and a very long script that's far more difficult. Remember that this monster is the same as the final monster in the Dragon's Den.
The thing about this guy, at least in the GBA version, was that there was no point in actually attacking him until he had performed Wall Change four times, as he would get all of his health back...but he would eventually Wall Change on his own. Only after that fourth change does one start attacking. Omega Weapon, on the other hand, did the rolling HP trick better. You HAD to reduce each set of its 65,000+ HP to get it to switch phases. It was the only boss where you just about needed to abuse the broken Quick mechanics to stand a chance at beating him. As long as you avoided triggering Omega's counterattacks and kept Reraise up at all times, you were generally in pretty good shape.
Yes, as I explained in my video description. However, here's an interesting little factoid. The Czar Dragon still exists in the GBA version of the game. It's listed as a monster within the game's programing with the same stats and no AI. I believe square may have left it there with the intention of bypassing bugs and giving it a new face lift. Hence the Kaiser Dragon we meet in GBA.
This is in reply to "raventamer99": I am quite adequate at this game's programming and the dragons that you are referring to in Kefka's Tower/Colosseum are called "Doom Dragon" they appear in pairs. However, It would seem that the years have left their tole on you because you have forgotten that Square likes to rehash the same sprites of monsters and recolor them to make them a new one altogether. If you take a closer look at this dragon's color scheme it is much darker then the "Doom Dragon" yellow/goldish color scheme. They are in fact different monsters so before you make any replies or comments, let me suggest you take some of your own advice and do some research.
Yep, it works on almost all bosses in the game, at least back in the original SNES version, don't know if that glitch carried over to remakes (though I'm pretty sure it works on emulators). There's a few things it won't work on, the final boss for instance, but it works on Atma, Doom Gaze, any of the dragons, pretty much anyone that could be a pain in the ass. :P
@Demonhornz It is quite simple to apply the patch. First open the SNES folder, inside the SNES folder there should be other folders such as, Cheats, Docs, Roms and the actual emulator application. There should also be a folder called "IPSs" if not then you would have to make one. Place the patch 1.1 inside the "IPSs" folder and change the name of the IPS to the name of your game. Open the SNES application and click on preferances, from there make sure that the IPS is checked on. Then play game.
@MonkeyCurler2 your absolutely right friend, but in this instance I thought, "Why not just do something they should have done in the first place? Why not just finish such a crucial boss to the FF6 world?" and so, "FF6 Missing Boss!" was born. :)
@cwycwy1531 yes, it also has another effect, it freezes the ATBs of all other characters and enemies alowing the effected character to make his/her moves with out interruption. ITs a reason why most players find the spell to be cheap. However, the solution to the problem was answered in my EmperorDrg hack. With 1 million HP and a powerful AI to boot, the overpowered cheapness of "Quick" actually becomes a useful and resourceful spell.
I remember having to find all these dragons. Back then, there wasn't any google to find their locations so you I had to ask word of mouth or just go searching for it myself...this fight was long for me too! This should have been what Kefka should have been in terms of difficulty and desperate moves.
Aww it doesn't even give you ANYTHING after winning? I was hoping for a 2nd Ragnarok blade or another Offering relic-you know the most precious of equipment or at the very least some final words before dying!
Czar and Kaiser Dragon are the same. Even the name. Some things were just a bit changed but with the GBA remake they have had the chance and the Czar (Kaiser) Dragon was finally introduced. I understand that the dragon was not "released" in the PS one version as well.
@LordEnvoy Hmm, thanks. Unfortunately, I dislike the SNES emulators for their complexity in saving (I used zSnes) and steer away from those...I was hoping to find a GBA one after much searching, but regrettably when I posted this I didn't notice it was SNES and not GBA version. I DID play the SNES version, and then replayed on the GBA version and found the GBA emulator much easier to deal with...but I could not find any GBA hacks, unfortunately...
yeah, you probably looked that up, because i highly doubt youd remember that little tidbit from the original game... i played and beat this game 10 or more times back in the 90s and i didnt even remember that... you fuckin tool.
Is this actually in the SNES and PS1 FF game, or is this a emulator patch ad on, whatever. Also, if this is real, what do you get when you beat him, any special items or alike, or its just a boss to fight? Thanks in advance.
Shadow Lynx To answer your question it is just a boss fight. Yes, this boss IS in fact in the games coding but however it was not finished and thus was not coded to be fought. I coded it so that others may challenge it but it has the same script as the FF6 Advance remake. With the exception of the intro dialogue. It has no items that it drops, its just an optional boss to challenge and test your metal.
Lord Envoy nice to see you commenting in 2015 for FF6.It was the first FF i played and beat.I later played 5,7,8,9,10,12 but none of them felt like 6.Love in first sight eh?
Imperius Thanks and yes, it is one of the games that I truly bonded with coming up. I dreamed when i was a kid that one day I would be able to make my own bosses. I never would had thought that on January 22 2009, I would be uploading my first custom boss on youtube. My has time run away. I've been very busy with work, school, and many other things in my life to fully concentrate on making new bosses. However I have been active making bosses for other passionate people. Will I continue making bosses for my channel? Yes. I have 3 bosses planned for upload but will be doing something a little different this time. I'll keep you posted. :)
Yeah, that game was made by SquareSoft/SquareEnix. So, I'm not surprised that they would recycle their monsters. Kinda makes you wonder how amazing that company is. Almost every game made by them are usually awesome.
I fell like because of this guys dialog he is like the Sonic CD "Fun is Infinite" thing (considering he says Humans set him free with there desire (Hence us hacking the game just to fight him)
Pro-tip: Vanish + Doom = dead dragon. :P Beyond that, like everyone else: I got a good laugh when Shadow's Paladin Shield proved to be impervious to Life 2.
Because for some reason when any character has the "Relic Ring" accessory equipped, when they die they will always block life spells... strange indeed.
Lord Envoy or the Zombie ring or any Thing that gives you the "ice cold" Status. It gives nice Status boni, but do a curega on your Party and kill the character with the Zombie ring (remedy helps too to kill him) Boy was I confused when I first played it
Oops... sorry about that. o.O Thanx for letting me know that. I was wondering why Hercules was having such an unusually high download rate... I just fixed it so it should be fine now.
