I'm an architect driven to create sustainable buildings. I'm pretty sure that seeing this as a 7 year old is where it all started for me. This made perfect sense to me as a kid, and it still does.
That’s awesome! This game had a profound impact on me. It completely shifted my perspective on what spirituality can even mean. That’s awesome if had a positive impact on you!😊
Shaped my thought about life too honestly. Though I played this when I was like 14. This game was my best friend in absolutely awful time in life. Couldn't of asked for a better game to escape the world from really.
Same, I spent an entire summer off of school with no friends but a copy of this game and a ps1. I didn't understand anything that was going on the way I understand now.
So fun too compare this with the Rebirth remake, having played the game back in the day and see how this and many other iconic scenes are remade and given 4 generations of polish is just amazing. Well done Square!
I was 13 when I played this, and I still remember the feeling this scene brought me, amazing it's still the same. Mind blowing. Deep, boundless and celestial. Right up to now, I believe planets also have consciousness, and we are all part of it.
This is my favorite scene in this game! In combination with the excellent music it brings a tear to my eye. It also is a eco message about us overusing our planets resources and destroying it.
I'm starting to feel this saga... In X, it was a sin to use machines which apparently (since i don't know the timeline) led human kind to the type of futuristic slum city seen on VII. I wonder who (from Square or Square Enix) established these (and the ones in this video) concepts into the games, and what was the first Final Fantasy to do so...?
+Mario E. Technology and magic (or spirituality) have always been themes in Final Fantasy.....FFVI had a similar thing in their story as well. This is why the new FF's suck ass, they've lost their way in telling a great story.
@@marioe.4400 in VII the Lifestream concept came from Sakaguchi, while the main scenario was written by Kitase, Nojima and Nomura. in X the scenario is only credited to Nojima
No it's not! LOL! Barret was a coal miner and Shinra made them obsolete due to using Mako Energy. Final Fantasy 7s, "eco message:" Coal is the answer! You people with these ideas are hilarious. Accept it as a game instead of propaganda.
"The soul too returns to the planet. And not only those of humans, but everything on this planet. In fact, all living things in the universe are the same." fucking hell ff7 shaped my life experience in ways ill never even understand
They are Science is a beautiful thing and it like many other things is the universe seeking to understand itself You need to get more excited to learn about it I mean sure, if you mean the flashy fantasy presentation then yeah, but if ur talking just conceptually my point still stands
This game forever changed how I view spirituality. At the time of this, I was really unhappy and the church I was going to was very dogmatic and judgmental. I didn't agree with what they believed and was forced to go there until I was 12 years old. I started playing FF7 in 7th grade. It completely shifted how I viewed life. It helped open my eyes to A LOT of things. I'm a very spiritual person now and resonate with Eastern belief systems and different mystical traditions. FF7 has a message that really speaks to my spiritual, intellectual, and emotional selves. Why it's my favorite video game of all time. It literally changed my life.
Playing this as. 13 year old it blew my mind, never thought games could be like this. I of course envy my 13 yo self from 1997 who got to experience this all for the first time. The little scenes like this sprinkled throughout the game are what really made it great.
So sad yet deep and very thoughtful one of my favorite parts of any Final Fantasy game I played so far. Bugenhagen is one of my favorite characters of the whole series. I can tell back in the day this would be a mind blowing moment. So thought provoking. So excited to see it in the remake when it gets there. The remake has the potential to be one of the best ever with so many fantastic scenes. I love stories that make you think.
It's funny...years ago when I saw this scene it's not sad... But for some reason that scene made me cry that I even told myself... Why the hell am I crying? I think it's because of the background of everything
Yeah other guy has a point, I agree people overhate 7 cuz of its overrated status to them and they wanna be hipster contrarians But 6 does have beautiful things to say as well, I like em damn near equally. 7 edges out just cuz I like the characters a bit more
Original is still better than modern. It’s the original soundtrack and the atmospheric noises that make it for me. Someone should mesh the old and new together haha. Fan made version.
Best fucking goddamn game ever. This always made more sense to me than any IRL religions. If I'm agnostic, it's about the concepts explained in this scene.
On my first plaything of the game, I got to this cutscene and as it was zooming in on the Planet, the screen jumped back to Cloud and somehow I softlocked the game. This happen to anyone else?
3:45 I wonder if their will be a mention of the weapons in that scene in FF7 Rebirth and if yes, will Omega Weapon be mentioned or maybe even quickly shown.
It's crazy. The game's graphics are definitely not good anymore. But it still has so much soul that you get engaged nevertheless. Can't wait for this scene in the remake...
I wonder what this guy's gonna look like on the remake probably some douchebag it's going to get ruined I'm looking forward to seeing how They're gonna do golden chocobo and how they going to do the high wind well be over the top and I can't imagine how it's going to look flying that massive ring around on updated version on the screen that's even fits when they how's that slap off of competition Scarlet versus tifa I'm so looking forward to the part where Scarlett falls down then again you can see a lot more of her standing up anyway what they were going on about the old game they commented her looking hideous design was low grade but still pretty good they won't be able to get away with saying that I was surprised you know the character is just a creep back to it the soundtrack for the observatory is going to be impressive and will you actually have to level up Materia the same way you did get the master Materia I like back in the old game is it going to be the same in the new remake I wonder and will people be able to exploit it with the tell me I forgot their name I think it was like a whole group that can cause rage also the characters saying can be used for especially if you and nip you get your limit as well on the process well in the old game probably target that make sure to remove that feature especially now I've just said it if anyone mentions
You mean the remade version shown in the trailer? Because if you mean that, blud wait until the whole scene actually comes out with the game release. How can anyone judge anything without seeing it completely?
