This fight was pretty slow. I think it will be possible to do WAY better once the full game releases. New weapon abilities, better materia, and such and such will allow me to do this a lot better once the game releases.
@@Ultinarok47 He doesn't have linked materia slots on his weapon yet. Instead I put Elemental - Fire and Ice in his armor slots, to reduce fire and ice damage
@@BarretTheImmaculate I forgot about that. That's honestly the big detriment here, if you had that, I'd imagine you could have knocked over a minute off of this time.
Tried a Barret SOLO run a few minutes ago,and it actually could be done in 3 minutes by just equip him bravery/deprotect materia and use Maximum fury instead during Phoenix's pressured phase. Her HP should be under 35% after the first time she staggered. Heal yourself and kill summoned enemies ASAP,and you could easily finish the fight

Thank you for uploading this! I have to wait until the PC version and it's hard to get a sense of gameplay without high skill solos. Weirdly, I don't like the sound of many Rebirth changes, and this Barret solo was way more to my liking because he doesn't have aerial combat and you didn't perfect block everything. Bonus Round is way better than I thought from descriptions... and I was afraid it replaced Focused Shot! He should have one other new weapon ability, at least, if they don't remove the melee ones... what would you like him to get? I'd love to see Mindblow, and give it a high interrupt strength.
From the original game, I would love to see the Missing Score. It's his ultimate weapon, dealing increased damage based on how much AP is fitted into the weapon from Materia. I think it would be awesome for physical damage builds, maybe it should come with the drawback of low magic damage.
Nothing like a big freaking gun to even the odds, lol. I have played this demo so many times! I can't wait to see what else Barret can do. Have you experimented much with his synergy skills yet? Mad Rush is basically his whole melee package!
I haven't experimented with synergy skills much. I definitely wanna see Barret's new weapons and abilities. I think they'll be awesome, can't wait to see what they'll come up with
I'm hoping they do something great for Barrett because he's easily the worst character in the demo. Not saying he's trash, but every other character is just so much more fun and useful
@@JB-gc9jgNah, Aerith is worse. They majorly nerfed her best tools and damage. She builds ATB slowly, hits less hard, Tempest is worse etc. Barret generates ATB really fast and has Bonus Round, and that combo alone is great for most fights. Focused Shot deals better damage now too. He's just too slow to fight Phoenix quickly because of its gimmick. I think all he'll really need is the return of Point Blank and maybe 1 or 2 cool new abilities and he'll be absolutely fine.
@Ultinarok47 not sure I can agree. Aerith's new ward for her regular attacks does well on pressure and damage. And her magic ward is still incredibly useful. Double casting magic to exploit weaknesses is still a big plus. I'll admit I need to play some more Barrett, and will tonight. I think my initial disappointment may have influenced my overall opinion. That said, both Aerith and Barrett are comfortably behind Tifa, Red, and Cloud for me. And there's little doubt they'll be behind Yuffie also
@@JB-gc9jg You are correct about Aerith's Wards being good. The main issue is she needs some ATB and some time to set them up, and her ATB building is absolute dogwater. Tempest generates very little now and her standard combo also gives almost nothing until the final hit, which is very slow. Both of them also deal less damage. Sorcerous Storm has poorer range. Warping to her wards is neat but Tempest getting nerfed into the ground is a bad trade. Soul Drain was at least buffed a lot and Radiant Ward is fun to attack with. But Barret gets his key setup ability. Bonus Round, set up much, much faster and more reliably thanks to Overcharge, then Bonus Round speeds up and powers up his standard gunfire so he can keep on building ATB like a boss. He generates it faster than Tifa! Then they cranked up his attack skills too, Focused Shot still staggers very strongly but actually deals decent damage too and Maximum Fury is as good as ever. The only reason he feels weaker is because he only has 4 personal attacking options right now: standard bullet combo, Overcharge, FS and Max Fury. When he has a couple more tools to round him out, I imagine he'll actually be quite good. Aerith probably will too, but her Square attacks are just incredibly underwhelming and her Triangle ability is worthless unless she has Wards set up. Even then, it's just utility.
Sorry for the late response. That's Bonus Round. It's his new ability in which he loads a magazine with special bullets that do good damage and increase stagger. The counter shows how many shots you have left

Barret might be the worst character to solo stuff along with Aerith. The only thing he has going for him is that he's tanky, sadly. Aerith can at least brute force stuff.
Nah, I had a way easier time soloing with him over Aerith and Tifa. Aerith is too squishy and builds up ATB too slow, so she's a sitting duck. Tifa requires all her abilities to reach her max potential, and Focused Strike got nerfed in this 1.
He's the most self-sufficient character in battle. He wont kill things as fast, but he can easily keep his health topped off if you know what you're doing and don't have to rush
@@rootsofafrica2562 Tifa can generate ATB insanely fast with animation canceling of Whirlwind Punch. She's not great at building stagger this time around with just Focused Strike spam, that's true. The only instance in which it returns the ATB used is if you use it to dodge an attack (it has iFrames on use). However, everything else she does is just top tier.
@@rootsofafrica2562 Yeah, that's why I'm saying he's tanky. However, the moment there's a DPS check like burning a shield down or something, he's going to suffer. In those situations, he might not be able to solo the boss.
@@ShiroNoFune He can though. There's a few videos on here of people soloing any boss he's available for, and I've done plenty of Solo Top Secrets runs with him with ease. The only fight I can say is absolutely a challenge with him is the Weiss fight, due to the HP regain and stagger decrease Weiss can do in his other phases, so high DPS is of the essence in that fight. Other than that, he can tank and bulldoze his way through any other fight I've seen him in with comfort.
