FFT analysis settings made easy 

FFT analysis can be used to convert time data into the frequency domain. This allows the frequencies contained in the noise to be determined along with their levels.
However, the results depend heavily on the selected analysis settings. Time and frequency resolution should be set to match the noise and the human resolution.
This tutorial explains these effects using examples. Furthermore, an alternative method - the hearing model according to Prof. Dr. Sottek - is presented.
