Since 2011 I learned to play flute and this was the first "song" that I practice. When I listen this version.. omg, I remember that moments. I play on orchestras and bands but this is always on my heart ✨
FFV's soundtrack overall has some of the most affecting music in the entire series to me. Lenna's Theme, Fate in Haze, My Home, Sweet Home and Nostalgia are some of the most heart-tugging songs in any game. A absolutely adore FFV and it's become my favorite in the series (I think).

Ill say this about 5's OST. Given what i had heard about this games lighthearted tone, i was NOT expecting to be blown away by how beautiful the soundtrack sounded from the very beginning after hitting "New Game."
FF V is my personally number 1 game in my life. The GMB until today over 40 yrs of my life is still amazing!!! Can still remember my childhood good gaming memories with all these best games! ❤
1:03:00 I cannot handle how well they did the Moore Forest. While the original portrayed the mystical forest vibe well, it got repetitive quickly, while this version adds more mystery and wonder and makes it so much better. 1:13:46 Also worth mentioning how well they did Interdimensional Rift, UGH.
While the original has a huge fondness in my heart, this version of "The Fierce Battle" with the china cymbal just amps me up so much, such a great version.
Unfortunately "The Decisive Battle" lost the drums at the beginning and the flute near the end, 2 instruments that elevate the original track to incredible heights. With that considered, I would be hesitant to call this the greatest version of the track. It's pretty good though. I mostly agree with your statement however, most of the soundtracks are an improvement over the original.
I just beat the game last week and I gotta say, this is such a great game. It’s not my favorite that I have played but the customization made this game very much worth my while. And even though overall I found its predecessor to be a superior product over all, this game still kicked ass. And one thing it did better than FFIV was the soundtrack. Nobuo Uematsu even said this soundtrack was something he was satisfied with which is something I don’t think he said about the previous games’ soundtrack. The Main Theme, Cursed Lands, Sorrows Of Parting, The Day Will Come, Exdeath’s Theme, Castle Exdeath, Unknown Lands, and the Neo Exdeath theme are phenomenal tracks. They even play the Main Theme of the original Final Fantasy at the end of the game (which coincidentally is the main theme of Final Fantasy IV as well just not as heroic and epic sounding). But the cherry on top of this phenomenal track is none other than Battle On The Big Bridge. As a whole I give this game an 8/10, but the soundtrack is definitely a 10/10.
Edit after 1 month: Man this is actually a really fucking good game, and the humor doesn't actually take away from it. I think I just needed to not BREAK the game to have full enjoyment. Old post: I just finished V for the first time last night, and I'm not sure how I feel? I played 1-4 sequentially, and the offbeat comedy of 5 sorta... felt weird? The story points didn't work for me, and I accidentally ruined the difficulty by using DualWield + RapidFire (I didn't Game Over in the final dungeon at all, barring superbosses) BUT out of all the games, this is the one I spent the most time on! I spent 3 hours grinding jobs at the end and I truly did have funI can't wait to play four job fiesta and re-experience the game without mucking up the difficulty for myself
I didn’t really mind the lighter tone of comedy, it gave it its own identity in my eyes, but I know where you’re coming from. And the same for me, I spent 40 hours in this game I’d say it has some of the best combat in the entire series
@@smujohnson LMAO whats funny is that, by the final boss, I realized that I could do that (read a wiki article on ninja), so I DID have the mystic knight ability available as well. I basically ended up having 8x damage on half my party at all times. Can't wait to do my first fiesta so there's a proper challenge haha

They're great in providing an actual idea of what it sounds like on a real orchestra setup, but I prefer the impact with which the original was composed and programmed. In Exdeath's Castle for example, there was so much unused potential for impact. I can picture in my head how I would setup the brass with both timpani and cymbals for extra buildup and impacts. Guess I'll have to make my own ideal version on my laptop again. It's nice to see FFV getting more love. Was it more light hearted and a bit campy? Sure but it was different, like a Saturday morning cartoon Final Fantasy.

I'll admit, this rearranged soundtrack is pretty good overall. Though at first, hearing this soundtrack with a more conventional tuning felt weird. I don't believe the original was at A432, but it was definitely below A440.
I hate to be super nitpicky but does this sound super compressed compared to what it should actually sound like to anyone else? It's mostly for the high note stuff like the trumpets, they sound off to me.

They really botched a few of these tracks the funky bass is so quiet you can barely hear it without headphones in lenna's theme and the drums in the decisive battle are just ruined.

@@mizzaneb I'll enjoy the music on the original uploader's channel where the audio quality isn't compressed to shit. This isn't about where the original audio was sourced from--it's about laziness. Your argument would make sense if this was just a simple audio track that was reuploaded, but it's not. The original uploader made efforts to capture game footage and splice all the audio together with proper timestamps in a high quality package, which is significantly more transformative than what this PatientRain guy has done, lazily cutting together the original uploader's two compilation videos without a care about audio quality.
