I legitimately think learning to play this song on an honest-to-god piano would actually be easier

For anyone struggling with this, all the comments about upping the speed to 2/5 works. I don't know exactly why this makes me play better. But I guess it has something to do with giving more space for my brain and eyes to see and register the differences in the note patterns. It's actually nuts how much better I did by bumping up the speed. Ugh, whoever designed this rhythm game is a mad lad for torture lmao.

Funnily enough the thing that made me able to gat an A on this one was muting the music because the rhythm of the song was throwing off where i thought i should be playing.

This song is... Quite all over the place.

For people having difficulty: 1. Turn the speed to level 2 out of 5. (Press R1.) 2. Get your sibling or friend (or enemy you blackmailed) to hold the left side of the controller, while you hold the right. That way, each of you can focus on one hand. I did this with my boyfriend, and we got it in two tries. Of all the songs in Final Fantasy VII, they had to pick a song that sounds like you're screwing up even when you're playing perfectly.

I slowed down this video to 0.25 playback speed for the harder sections, the extra notes that don't get played and the timing is so bad, I still couldn't get my head around it at 0.25. So epiphany moment, muted my audio, starred it first time...

Tried for a long time. Turn the note speed up one and got an A. Worth trying.

Turn the music OFF and turn the speed up 1 notch. That did it for me. Got A rank after doing that.

I think the main gimmick of this song is that it alternate hands note by note way too frequently, then try to trip you up with notes than require both hands at the same time. Can’t lie I’m a pretty decent piano player but this took a dumb while 🙃

This was the only song where I had to increase the note tempo to make it easier. The slowest tempo messes with your reaction speed since the notes are following quite fast. With a higher tempo you can just let your reaction speed take over

This one's nuts! I got the A after maybe 10 tries and NO practice! It helps that it's catchy and I genuinely wanted to get it right rather than beat it

Slowed this down to .25x speed and practiced the movements over and over on the hard parts for like an hour... then another hour actually playing it in game. Finally got it. I still love this minigame even when it's so hard, unlike Fort Condor which makes me want to toss my PS5 out the window. So, that's good, I guess. XD Thanks!

I always lose the tune right by where you rotate 360 on the right stick. Need to practice 40 hours more.

I feel like this is buggy. I'm not even moving to a different note and I still miss that note before it hits the bar while I haven't moved the analog stick

Im afraid to say it (getting A ranks in 5 of the 6) but theres no shortcuts or special strategies, only tip is to keep playing it, get that muscle memory on lock and know what speed is compatible for the songs

for me personally it helps if you make the song faster by one tick i went from constantly b to a with this trick

Thank you so much! I slowed the video to 0.5, and practiced on a disconnected controller. Once I got the rhythm, sped the video to 0.75 then back to 1, then got star rank after some tries.

I put it on 2 bar speed which I thought lined up with the notes in the background better then normal speed give it a try if you are struggling. Also took me way too long to get the star.

The actual mix is awful. Its basically impossible to pick out the left hand by ear in the busy sections.

The problem with this song is the audio. Mute it. Set speed to 4. Try to beat it with pure reaction time. All the other songs, 4 or 5 note speed made getting the inputs much easier. It doesnt help as much here, but it mames the yellow bars disappear faster, which lets you focus on your future inputs better. With enough tries you will eventually get it. The audio will screw with you.

Can’t do it. Was doing so well, but the majority of my vision comes from my left eye, right is all periphery, so I gotta keep looking back and forth and it’s hard to keep track of both.

I just can't focus on both wheels at the same time, I'm having such a hard time with this one, I barely got A on the others, cuz they don't spam like this one.

It took me forever to realize the G at 1:43 was supposed to be an eighth note, as it sounded like it should be a quarter note. I kept missing a ⭐️ rank by one note and had to watch my video playback to see where the one “Good” note was coming from! Got an A rank on my second try but the ⭐️ rank took me a good hour.

I've been about completing all challenges as much as possible until this song. It broke me.

It’s mostly the chorus @ 1:03 that gets me on this with the notes too close together. Watching this and pausing to make notes of the order I hope will help.

I just wish they would let us really slow it down and practice sections of it that we struggle with. Playing the whole song every time when I just need to practice 8 - 16 bars over and over again to get it really sucks.

Yo piano mini games? Every time I see something about this game it makes me wanna go ahead and skip all my other bucket list games and just skip straight to this.

I don’t know why but slowest speed is the most difficult. Maybe input lag or frames, but increasing speed work well.

I got this song to A despite having a lot of misses and goods and bads. As of now, i can't perfect it. I have perfected the songs from On Our Way to Cinco de Chocobo. So what I'm gonna do for now is I'm gonna go get the final song. If I manage to perfect the last song, then there's really something wrong with this particular track. Like fucking hell; I have tried every tactic from muting the TV to playing on the slowest note to upping the speed by 1 or 2 AND I STILL CAN'T PERFECT THE GODDAMN THING. For some reason, there are times when the note would only be registered as "Good" or worse, "Miss", despite the fact that I KNOW my timing was spot-on. My dualsense also has no drift issues so it's impossible for that to be the problem. Like seriously, whoever tf in Square Enix decided that the joysticks are the best controls for this AND that you have to hit EVERY note to get the star deserves a special place in hell and given the chance, I would send the fucker there myself. For point based minigames like this, ESPECIALLY with controls that rely on joysticks, there should be room for error that still allows you to get the highest rank despite mistakes. This and Sit Ups with Jules is the only mini game in the entire game that has managed to infuriate me to the point that I'm convinced I got hypertension from them. And before anyone says anything, I am well aware that I only need to get A Rank to get the trophy and rewards but the fact that there's a Star Rank afterwards is something my OCD addled brain has a hard time letting go. Especially since I've been playing rhythm games for years.
