I would say something to socializing. If you want the challenge of facing off against your beginner steps, thats fine. But if you want to progress past a point that's just a little annoying there is guaranteed SOMEONE sitting in Jeuno or Mhaura who will gladly blow up your problem for you in two seconds. We love doing it don't worry. If you stick around you'll probably get dragged into Ambuscade to set you up with what'll be your first 119 set worth something.
What you said at 13:45 is exactly what the FFXI experience is all about. FFXI is a beast of a game to get into, so the guides are certainly recommended. But, the magic of the game comes from when you realize that you literally have 20 years of amazing content, over half a dozen of incredible stories, and a massive game world right at your finger tips, and you can do what ever you have the most fun with. I wasted way too much time racing chocobos and playing Pokemon in pankration. No guide will ever tell you to engage with this content. It didn't do anything for me in endgame, but I had plenty of fun. Thanks for the awesome video!
Oh wow, I feel honoured that you'd see this! I guess it's a small community after all :D I'll have to remember to check out Pankration at some point, sounds pretty fun! I personally really have fallen in love with NM hunting, which didn't surprise me at all since I enjoy open-world monster content in FFXIV as well. I get so happy when I find a RoE objective for some random base game NM. Maybe someday I can actually take down Jaggedy-Eared Jack lol. Thank you for all the videos you're made about the game, I'm already looking forward to watching the CoP review once I finish the expansion myself.
This is really helpful for new and returning players. I'm considering returning as there's still so much content I haven't done. The only thing that gets me down about the game is not knowing anyone to play with.
Thankfully there are ways you can learn to know people who already play the game! I wouldn't let that hold you back by itself. Check the official reddit, ask if there's a linkshell on your server that has other returners and put your best social foot forward o7
I'm working out some ideas I have right now (and playing some more XI of course), but I'm gonna be busy irl for a bit, so we'll see when my cooking produces a video again. Hope you have a fun time returning o7
How is the Bahamut server? End game player thinking about switching servers... asura has way to many douche bag players... I didn't know this was the douche bag server when i came back to the game...
I encourage you to make More ff11 vids this one was very nice , I struggled a bit to hear you speak but otherwise I loved it and learned a couple things.
Thank you very much, I'm certainly looking forward to having more free time in a couple weeks time! The video has subtitles, so feel free to use those if you need and I'm glad you learnt new things o7
Great video! The part about socializing and being uncomfortable hits home for me, I struggle to socialize on any game, let alone one that most players have decades of experience with. I got through the story/entry level stuff but trying to play end-game content is very intimidating. I'm actually in the same LS as you and they are a nice group, much better than the last LS I was in that was very insulated and if you weren't in their inner circle they basically ignored you. Been taking a little break from the game to recover my attention span for it but I'll say hi if I run into you in game :) I'm "Glow"
I'm happy that this point specifically resonated with someone, because I feel like it's the most important one in the whole video. In the current social media landscape I feel like connection means less and less and I strongly believe we should seek to make more meaningful connections instead. It's tough work to keep up with people and their lives, but it's better than doomscrolling! I'll look forward to saying hi to you in-game when you return, enjoy your break! o/
