@@imafirenmehlazer1 It's really only true in very simple content, or in a very reductive sense. Where do you stand and let thing resolve for High Concept? How do you know where and when you should stand and let thing resolve? That's where the mechanic is. That original video made it seem like every raid encounter since Stormblood was just finding a safe square and everyone moving into it for every mechanic.
Your writing is really good. Although I'm uninterested in deep dungeon content, your writing kept me engaged for the whole video. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Small inaccuracy mentioned: Landmine traps only do 80% of *current* hp, not max hp. This means that, besides under a REALLY weird circumstance involving thrill of battle falling off, you cannot die to a landmine. On the other hand, a silver chest exploding *does* do 70% max hp damage, which means it can kill you. Its why other jobs risk landmine plays occasionally, but chest plays are rarely done by anything except tanks.
EDIT: I'm wrong, read the replies below This is not true. Landmines kill you if you are sufficiently low on hp. If you open a blue chest that explodes and then eat a landmine, you die.
@@adognamedsally Unless you had tick nonsense have both go off in the same damage process value, then no, you cannot die to a landmine unless your max hp changes. You would have died to the chest damage, not the landmine damage. That's server processing jank, not the landmine being bugged.
If you'd like proof that your hp being even at say, 1 doesn't kill you with landmines, Angelus has a video as example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M2bAWCg-oXM.htmlsi=RCh-Jx42ieepJVNf
@@barrackoli Are Silver Chest explosions not the same then? Because I have 100% died to back-to-back blue chests and/or landmine followed by blue chests.
congratulations Rinon, a huge victory to add to the list. i spent a fair few months progging through Necromancer myself, running as a Gunbreaker. my horror story of Behemoth, Solid Barrel (my 1-2-3's 3rd hit) has a long animation before the damage actually applies, and i died once because the Meteor touched down before my damage triggered. on the next run, seeing the same thing about to happen, i had to Provoke to force my damage to apply, and i won. i killed the Behemoth with Provoke.
I tried streaming my runs for some friends... 5 in a row the moment i hit floor 170/180, stream caused some internet error and blip, 90k'd from the game (for those that don't know disconnecting counts as death :)... said fuck the stream no more watchers.. time 6 went smooth
Congrats! Working on these myself, finished HoH this week. A lot of fun and a very unique challenge, it really is like nothing else in the game in a good way.
A great watch! I tried HoH near the end of last year, dying at 96 to being distracted - so don't think that looking away at "safe" (but actually deadly) moments is streamer exclusive ;-; But I have to agree with the last statement: The end is so interesting and fun, but the lead up to that isn't far off being an outright waste of time. Personally that's what killed my motivation to keep making attempts :|
That has got to be one of, if not the, most clutch behemoth kills I've ever seen! Congrats! Getting the Necromancer is still the achievement I'm most proud of in ffxiv, even after doing it about 3.5 years ago and recently becoming a pentalegend.
Congratulations! As someone who spent months working towards the title and managing to snag it before the beginning of Endwalker, it is one hell of a ride! They have made some significant changes to jobs to balance it out and make it a little "easier" across the board, but it's still an achievement one can be proud of and I personally will wear the title forever as my own personal greatest accomplishment in gaming
It didn't change too much, actually if you did it during shadowbringer, before the statsquish, floors from 70 to 140 were way faster, after 140 they are basically the same
@@nihalzeor8085 That's what I said, but by making it "easier across the board" I'm talking specifically about jobs that got very direct adjustments to their survivability on Floor 180, specifically DRK and WAR who used to have much more strict rotations, DRK for example would die immediately after killing the boss, and that's if you did the rotation entirely perfectly, so if you were a few frames off in your rotation you miss the kill. the changes to LD made this no longer a thing.
Found your channel 2 days ago and i really like your content! My attention span is usually not that good but i was able to watch the whole 1 hour and a half video about the omega ultimate raid!
Weird this popped in my feed. Yesterday I was doing my roulettes and saw 2 people with the necromancer title. Think I've only seen that title a handful of times in my 8 years of playing and was just thinking to myself how incredibly rare it is to see it.
nowadays you see it quite a lot, with solo deepdungeon getting much more popular, and a little easier with job changes in endwalker. A few years ago I knew basically everyone in my server who had the title, now I see Necromancers on people I've never seen before on almost a daily basis lol
180 has got such a reputation it kind of overshadows 190. but 190 ain't a pushover at all. I have seen so many people die to it and especially tanks to the first blue bomb
Yeah, 180 isn't too bad after you get the hang of it. I can take on most mobs in there except Anzu on MCH. 181-190 is a special type of hell because most mobs have some kind of gimmick, like a 30s enrage or double auto attack.
Great vid Rinon, as someone who got all three solo deep dungeons as well, I will give my two cents for people wanting to attempt it. PotD: is by far the longest, but it's a little bit easier then the rest, mobs have less hp, and while they hit like a truck, there are only an handful of mobs you should avoid when playing a non-tank if you have steel up. It's also my favourite because the last 50 floors have great visibility with a lot of open area, so it's rare to get spooked by a patrol when turning a corner. HoH: is often called the easiest one, but from my experience it's not at all. Mobs on the later floors hits HARD, more than palace and way, way more then eureka, also they have a ton of hp, making the time a very strict resource in HoH. It is the one where rng could absolutly carry you, having two different wipe floor pomanders, so if you get your lucky run, you will most likely get a clear, but in a regular run, it's hell. EO: the difficulty on this one is that it's punishing, a single failed mechanic from any mob will kill you and most likely end your run if you don't have a raising active. Auto attack damage is the chillest of the three, making it far easier on dps than on tanks, but it does require full focus when fighting mobs. Also it has two strong pomanders for clearing floors, dread (lust+rage from potd) and storms (all enemies hp goes down to a single digit), but storm is scary to use, because enemies regenerates health while outside combat the best thing to do is to pull multiple mobs before popping the storm, but with how deadly the mechanics are, it can be really scary to do if it's not paired with a witching or a lethargy. In general EO is the easiest if you can get full focus all the times, but I think it's unlikely to be that robot-like, so I still consider it harder than PotD
I want to get into Deep Dungeon content but it is such a time sink for what it gives you. Me and two friends tried out HoH earlier this year, got to 199 and died because the game didn't tell us and we didn't know that is a guaranteed triple debuff floor and we got screwed over. Never really had the heart to go back since. My friend at least got the cute mount from it, I got like, literally nothing of note. Its demoralising.
man i wish i had more dedication to the grind. I am just genuinely too scared to fail at floors 180+. Best i managed was 159 on my first real attempt, got just WAY too unlucky with like 5 Gloom, No Item, No ability floors. Ended up dying because a mob (that i knew i could fight) crit me 5 times in a row so my regen pot wasn't strong enough to survive anymore.
Thanks for doing this video! DD is my favourite content in the game, and nothing has given me the same feeling as when I first got my Necromancer title. And also thank you for not framing this as if getting any of the titles is impossible. I recently had someone tell me my title was "not earned". I currently have 15 solo DD clears, along with being the #2 Dark Knight in PotD on my DC in terms of score. Yeah this shits hard, but not unattainable. Hell you don't even have to be great in terms of rotation up until Behemoth lmao. Congrats on your clear! And for anyone going for their first clear, keep it up! DD is amazing for players who don't want to do group content but are still looking for something engaging.
Completing EO solo, the first RDM clear on my server actually, was so thrilling. I was on the edge of my seat..have not had a high like that in this game since doing ultimate, but its a different feel, only to yourself a personal journey. Really like it and won't do it again.
The reason why you didn't have enough HP for the second Ecliptic Meteor on Behemoth was because you didn't statusoff Thrill. You want to have your sustaining potion up, thrill, raw and remove your thrill buff after the first meteor.
I am on controller and thinking about plugging in a mouse to be able to quicly select and use poms in emergencies. But i am not sure if I'll be quick enough as i need to put my controller away while grabbing the mouse. Any advice on doing this as a console player? I just see Rinon did this on controller as well. Would be interesting if he could give some tips how he targeted poms quick enough
Back during StB, when I started playing, I believe the number of Necromancers was 2 or 3. It was, without question, the rarest title of all. Then ShB rebalance dropped and that number shot up. And was achieved by classes other than RDM to boot.
I've been working on a necro run but lately my game's developed the habit of crashing every once in a while and I've had to pause my attempt until I figure out excactly why it keeps doing it.
My favorite encounter of those I’ve experienced so far belongs to P9S. My bias towards it due to it being my first in content savage fight aside, it just feels like the best first fight they’ve made to me. It was fun to learn and prog, I made friends trying it out, and it’s made me want to just do all of Anabaesios now. I doubt I’ll see 12 before Dawntrail, but I can still try.
Great video and Congratz. What do you think about WAR vs MCH? i wanted to start with WAR so i can farm Potsherd more efficiently (because you can autoheal so you dont need to use them while farming). But the main clear i still don't know. I understand pros and cons of both roles. What made you chose WAR? do you think learning time managment with pomanders its easier than learning kiting and dealing with harder mobs?
(also since im free trial and didnt do a lot of HoH i dont have access to good hp potions but will use the regular hp potions you get from PotD, and WAR should need less potions)
You cleared it in just one attempt?! That's insane!!! Congratz on the great run! I've been attempting necromancer off and on for about a year, still no clear :( Got to the 190's 3 times and died at the 180's like 10 time's LOL
As a long term deep dungeon enthusiast who finished soloing all of them, I'm disappointed in the choice of a title for Eureka Orthos. "One and future King/Queen" just doesn't roll of the tongue and isn't nearly as memorable as "The Necromancer". Considering they went with the allagan style for EO - they should've made the title be "The Emperor/Empress", as a callback to Emperor Xande.
Explosive traps will deal 80% of your CURRENT hp, not max hp, they cannot kill you (directly), silver chests on the other end deal 70% of your MAX hp, they CAN kill you (or enemies around you)
While I’m not a Necromancer yet, my first proper attempt was a 169 (nice) run as AST which at the time was 3rd on the board on Light in ShB. I never do full on serious attempts right now but my most ‘Serious’ one to date was a 140 as Thaumaturge on Chaos. I could’ve beaten the boss easy with the Reso pomander strat but I couldn’t be bothered going further. Last I checked the score is still there-
If potd didn't make me stand and let things resolve irl for 150+ floors before it got to the super hard parts I'd probably be deep in attempts right now to try to solve the dungeon blind but the sheer length of buffer in attempts is so off putting, theres a reason most roguelike games dont have runs last longer than a couple hours.
fun palace fact: the Deep Palace Vinegaroon at 8:30 also has a backwards cone cleave if youre standing behind it after Third Leg Forward itll cast Third Leg Backward and if youre standing behind it after Third Leg Backward itll ALSO cast Third Leg Backward ...repeating the same easily dodgeable AoE ~8 times in a row without auto attacking once, before it finally gives up lol
Good to see how players play with gamepad on PC and PS4/5 and beat hardest content in game like soloing palace, ultimates without plugins and mods, and so many gamers still cant play whout them. Day ago I see guy, who cant even manage his hotbar without plugin, 'tis looks so pathetick.
If you stand behind the Behemoth, you don't get auto-attacked. I also found PotD to be the easiest of the three to complete, and also the more boring option. I know the DD community will hate me, but I wish they went back and reworked it. It hasn't aged well.
Yeah POTD got easier cuz of job changes, but the challenge comes in my opinion with the poms. Even tho HoH is scary as hell with those hard hitting adds later on, poms and magicite make it overall easier, same for EO.
I think HoH is harder imo, it's just a bigger tax on your mental to do PotD with how long the attempts are and how stressful behemoth is being so back loaded.
Some corrections for people who watched the first 5minutes and swiped off the video due to inconsistencies. Traps are not "completely invisible", in all Deep Dungeons there are options to remove them or make them visible. Instant kill mechanics or moves are usually telegraphed by an animation, not a cast bar. The "in house leveling system" doesnt apply to the Aetherpool numbers ( the text shown at the same time.) Only your level resets according to your save file / progress. Aetherpool will stay the same until YOU yourself use it as a currency.
This video isn't an explanation on deep dungeon mechanics, I'm not quite sure why there would be an expectation for me to include information like this LOL
@RinBanana You quite literally said the things yourself. I never said this was a bad video or implied any expectations. In fact I enjoyed the video for the most part. I was just clearing up any inconsistencies from literally within the first 5 minutes. If your first jump is to go "WHY should I need to say this" out of an assumption, then perhaps you shouldn't be making videos to begin with?
god i want to get into this content non-solo, but the combo of the age of it and the difficulty has always made me feel like its going to be impossible to find people who also want to run it.
when i saw you use holmgang on an enemy instead of yourself my heart dropped. I lost a run once because I killed the mob i HG'd before I could heal with raw intuition
It's not that rare anymore. EW content draught means more ppl who are still subbed will be bored and enticed to try deep dungeons if they haven't before, and do it enough times they will all get their solo clear.
Kind of interested to try the content. But the reward will be for itself since... Well... I'm never taking the "Luckiest of Lords" title off for Necromancer. Soloing Maps isn't anywhere on the level of Deep dungeon... But RNG hell will drive you insane.
You really thought palace was the hardest? Idk! I mean, behemoth is a crazy fight but otherwise the mobs are way easier to deal with and the boss mechs are easy. I still think HoH is the hardest. The mobs hit HARD and the 90 boss is very punishing.
near the beginning of my journey in EO. Still in the floor 41-50 sections and it’s getting frustrating but… Once and Future Queen is just way too gender-affirming a title to pass up!
@@stachehenry8901 Maybe if you play MCH and things die quicker/you finish sets quicker then you'll be less burned out by the time you get to your prog point at 180+.
For 190, neither the boss' massive burst, nor the blue bomb exploding will kill you outright, massive burst brings you to 1 health and the bomb does medium damage and freezes you. Both can be survived with planning, letting the blue bomb explode is actually the meta strat for Astrologian.
Nice. I've been trying since the sunmer, and after experimenting with RDM/RPR/GNB/WAR/MCH I decided to just go with them since they're the safest option, IMO Though I'm at the point of where fighting boredom seems to be a bigger issue since I can get through 1-170 no problem, and it hardly feels like a challenge. It's just the last 3 sets where RNGesus can royally ruin you.
Damn, u're pretty good. This was the only title I was passionate about and I've done 10 attempts and failed and slowly losing the motivation and hours to burn on this
