1:00:00 no it doesn't bring the aether back, if you kill it in The Source it goes back to the river of aether, if its sealed it, its just sealed it., if you kill it in The Void, it will return with all aether just like scarmiglionne
Matthew's right, Eorzea Collection is great for seeing what kinds of looks you might like in game! :D I reference it a ton when I'm trying to put together a look outside of my usual go-tos! I believe in you, prog that fashion endgame
It would be neat if Zero turned out to be a shard of Azem...Zenos using a part of you to fight you because there was no other way to beat you is satisfyingly poetic. And I feel that all the little context clues are pointing that way. However...I think it would be cool for them to make us all think that, and then reveal at the last minute that the true reflection of Azem is Golbez himself. After all, we've not seen his true face nor heard his (or her) true voice. I think it would be incredibly impactful and would make the WoL see what he/she might be capable of becoming in different circumstances and face some hard truths about themselves... the thought just gives me goosebumps.
Considering the final cutscene in 6.3 I don't think Golbez is Azems's shard. My personal pet theory is that he is Zodiark (the 13th shard) probably with Hermes (again) as his heart. The line he says at the end pretty much points that way.
You know, canonically speaking, when we use Azem's crystal to summon allies to our side to fight trials, aren't we summoning our other 7 fragments? If so, then Zero couldn't be one of our fragments, unless they totally retcon that lol But I would LOVE if she were; she's a total badass lol I really do not care for Barbariccia's design in this game though, as much as I hate to admit it. It is so drastically different from her original incarnation. Her transformation phase is really REALLY different too, and that was kind of a bummer. Gameplay design wise though, I totally understand the direction they took and why they did it. The fight would have been really nuts if they had made her more like her original design. That being said, this fight was friggin nuts and had me wanting to drink a valium milkshake as a healer. Her damage just. Would. Not. STOP lol Then all the running around like a lunatic while the damage was flying out constantly... ugh. Instantly vowed to NEVER attempt this fight on extreme lmao (No spoilers, but I really felt like this trial was sooooooo much harder than the next one in 6.3 or at least a lot more busy work as a healer).
Azem's crystal does not summon your other shards. Azem themself used the exact same magic back during ancient times and is simply an invocation for summoning allies to your side.
@@LazzyVamples ahhh ok, I thought it was Azems summoning spell, but was tweaked to call our reflections (thus the seven spots) and that had been made canon. My mistake!
@@sakuram69 Honestly, I love the idea of Azem using it, because it makes me imagine Emet-Selch sitting down to have a meticulously prepared meal, only for him to start vanishing as Azem summons him to help calm down a volcano elemental or some shit, and he just... let's out an exasperated sigh.

No wonder every time he talks about Azem he sounds like he’s sucking on a raw lemon slice 🤣 it would be really cute to get an official manga series of short stories about Emet, Hythlo, Azem and Venat and their adventures of randomly being summoned to do some absolutely absurd menial tasks at the worst possible times. But I really could have sworn we were calling our reflections this whole time since Emet is the one who made the crystal (unless I misunderstood it when Hythlo told us about it being made in secret). I do like this theory a whole lot better though. It allows for a lot of fun possibilities. Did I miss a side quest somewhere where this was better explained or something? I tend to get main story tunnel vision and miss a lot of small details that way
