Considering how hunting seems to be an important part of the culture of the people of the New World, I would love to see them shaking things up with the Hunts system. I think they have the potential to be that daily overworld combat activity for us to work with and ALSO, be a good reason for us to revisit the maps (since they are practically wasted after we are done with the story). Right now the system simply isn't interesting enough and most people I know only do them once in a while through hunt trains to get a new mount and leave it.
@@demored3017 Oh yeah, definitely. That's probably why the overworld in this game is so alive, filled with people doing outside activities the whole day... all thanks to... hunt trains lol
@@Hecomut damn you certaintly dont play this game if your big complaint is i want the game to feel like hunt parties keep the overworld alive...just because your tiny brain dont do them doesnt mean its not alive, lol how about u get out of your gamer chair and experience life?
@@demored3017 Why are you so triggered man? Is anyone paying you to defend this game so hard? Because if not, you're just stupid, really. And considering how offended you got with such a simple comment, I don't think I'm the one who should be worried about going outside to experience life.
@@demored3017I think he's saying that the hunts DO bring the world alive just as you say, and so they should be leaned into more and zazzed up, so the game can play to its strengths not shelf them and ignore them thinking they've done enough. And I would say the same for FATEs, which were originally one of the main draws of ARR. You're coming off way more aggressive than is warranted
@MrKrampenDamp i cant imagine using chat bubbles in big hub cities or golden saucer during jumbo catpot draw how much vision be obsured. I had hide names people not friends cause it gets ridiculous
@@ruick78it really isn't that bad. This problem is highly exaggerated. Besides, this is a game where people turn off spell effects so they can see what they're doing. Chat Bubbles aren't as bad as that, especially if their optional.
It really feels like Dawntrail is Stormblood 2.0 content-wise, which is really exciting. I don't think it's too far-fetched to get all this content, we're now firmly out of the worst of the industry Covid disruption and they've got that Endwalker money. You can kind of see it already in small ways, feels like production value has been ramping up patch after patch recently.
@@The300Playerthe story of stormblood was great. It was more concerned with politics and nations than the high fantasy stakes of the other expansions sure, so I can see why those of the community that aren’t invested in every aspect of the lore of XIV world would find it less exciting but it was not “dog shit”. I loved Stormblood personally but I do agree every other expansion has been better, but that’s just a testament to how good all of XIV’s expansions have been imo.
@@Gwynbleidd_117 I agree with some points but I also feel like it was an uncomfortable amount of them going on far too long about fantasy Japanese cultures and kind of forgetting Ala Mhigo was there until the story forced them to go back to it. I do not hate it but I do consider it the weakest story because it was so divided and it was very clear that the writers had a bias towards the Doman side of the story.
I'm looking forward to new MSQ and glamour options, most of my time spent in game lately has just been leveling a bunch of jobs or the weekly alliance raid or tribes.
"Did they mention role quests in passing?" No mention of future role quests, but the gang will probably put in role quests, though this time it'll be more laid back since the entirety of Dawntrail will be in one giant continent. You also didn't mention Special Deliveries like the Crystalline Mean and Studium, and I'm sure they'll put in another questline of aspects like they did with the last two expansions to occupy gathering and crafting classes with a big finale quest if you do them all. I really liked the finale quests of those two groups as they fleshed out the world and lore. In fact, getting the final Studium quest hinted at Cosmic Exploration and I wouldn't be surprised if we unlock Cosmic Exploration at the Studium. ^_^ I am hoping they do the custom delivery quest lines again in 7.0, though how they'll do it will be a mystery and a big surprise when they reveal it. ^_^
I THINK Unreal is going to be in base 7.0 but ofc I don't know absolutely. I don't think they said it was a reason but I think the stat squish was part of it when going into EW. So I think DT will indeed have it, but in 8.0 or 9.0 I'm expecting another stat squish since we got up in numbers REALLY quick in one expansion
Even though the DT release was delayed for Elden Ring, I'd count your prediction as spot on since it was meant to be the original release date. Good job! :)
I hope they'll rework Criterion Difficulty. Besides questionable rewards, all I heard about current Normal Modes is that they are way above Extremes so it most likely does not attract all that many players that do not do Savage or Ultimate already
Yoshi P has admitted that Criterion is more difficult than intended, and the rewards are not sufficient as a result. They even added the (still questionable) exquisite weapons as a stopgap. Luckily they know this is a problem. Hopefully they can make it better....
Regarding the gear for crafter/gatherer, the easiest way to remember their release cycles in expansions is that they come out on patches just prior to the next 8-man raid so x.1 and x.3. It's done this way so that crafters/gatherers will update their gear in say, 6.3 then come 6.4 when new raid is out, they then switch over to making crafted gear for combat jobs.
Hey Mr Happy, I wish that SE wouldn't backload so much of the crafting into later in the xpac. By the time the crafting relics were released, they were pretty useless to the majority of players who had already unsubbed by 6.3.5... I understand why but at the same time for crafting, it felt very bare bones most of Endwalker.
i already sort know how they do their expack since i've been playing this game since 2015 so yeah and pre-order it always cause i get so hyped to play the next expansion till this day going pn 9 years playing this game im still excited for the next thing with this game.... that is why im watching this video im so hyped its my top #1 game on my wishlist on steam ... dude dawntrail LET'S freaking go!
I see people who complain, "Specific thing I wanted didn't happen this expansion", I think they've not noticed how many things are being released now. I wish for double dungeons, or hard mode dungeon remixes. I also look at the raw amount of content and accept, it just isn't happening.
VERY true. Maybe it can be the plotline when "she" finds a way to visit there? Either that or just make rank 8 Allied, they did THAT with ARR. Just seems WRONG to not be allied with, well, as it's called, allied tribes.
Better dungeon content would be nice. It's absurd that there's no dungeon that drops gear higher than an expert dungeon. Just a basic hard/heroic/mythic dungeon would be nice.
I know it ain't happening, but...Square, can you PLEASE move the items exclusive to Quick Venture over to the Achievement vendor? those Lv1 untradable items should not be locked to pure RNG...
im one of the weird players who have expansion glams, so id love a "apply glamour plate to all gear sets" option...doing it invidiually for each gear set i have is...very tedious. but then i know that im one of few ppl whod actually use that feature
Considering their claim that making trusts takes a considerable amount of resource (and that hydaelyn trust was apparently a nightmare), I wish they DONT bother with normal trial trusts. Use those resources for current expansion content instead.
Man seeing beastmaster likely not coming until more than a year after the expansion launch is very disheartening. I was pretty excited to get a 2nd limited job because i really enjoy blue mage.
Yeah, but sadly it is pretty much confirmed it'll be that late, the last fan fest it was called out as 'late 7.x' and they didn't even have concept art for it. Maybe they try bring the blue mage update earlier in the expansion to stagger limited job content, but I'm expecting they both end up in the same end of expansion period.
I was hoping for Garlemald restoration, but I'm so hyped for Cosmic Exploration!!!! It's been so long since we've had real crafting/gathering content. Also I hope the relics aren't super boring and easy again
if you do all the role quests then you find out that Forchenault has convinced some Garlean refugees to move to the moon since sharlayan has decided to make the moon a sort of Library of Alexandria type place, so they could still be apart of it! we could be going to diff planets to bring back resources to make a Neo Garlemald on the moon.
Yoshi P has admitted that even though there's high engagement with the END Relic, it's also seen as "sloppy" by some, and they want to find a better balance between people who want something easy, and people who want something more involved. They're keeping this in mind for DT, which is encouraging.
Actually between the baseball uniforms at fan fest, the choice of fan fest venue and even some of the Hildebrand animations I'd wonder if actual Baseball is a possibility
We only just got a healer in endwalker, so maybe in another 6-9 years. As for tank, probably alongside the new healer. we need 2 more physical ranged to balance out the melee/magic/range jobs.
I keep holding out hope for an update to the glamour system. So many jobs and not enough plates for all of them. At the very least I'd like a plate for every battle job including DoH amd DoL. I expect to be disappointed though.
I wish i could feel excited for 14 anymore. Endwalker really killed it for me, the combat feeling all the same, the lack of midcore content, the pvp complexity downgrade, crafting and gathering feeling mind numbing, tge failure of criterion and DD... the hype is gone for me. I really hope this is a great expansion but i cant get myself feeling excited anymore.
No, Yoshi P is wanting to avoid the same situation they had with EW where they announced the date then had to delay by 2 weeks. He wants to make absolutely sure it's ready before he says anything concretely.
Yeah, that's kinda what I was hoping for from this video. Like we know most of what will come with the regular patch cycle, but what I can't remember is the order of teaser announcements.
I guess Dawntrail will have the exact same content format as every other expansion. I also guess that apart from the 3-4 new moves the rotations will be the more a less the same again for another WHOLE expansion.... Hitting buttons in the exact same way for 2 years straight, in either the wall 2 wall 2 boss .. Repeat type dungeons, or the square/circle boss areas. Nice, so nice.
I am kind of hoping something about that handful of new abilities will shake up rotations. Not on a major scale of course, but little differences here and there. Granted, they want you to be comfortable with how your chosen job plays, it's really more in learning what you can do vs what boss mechanics require you to do.
@@ruick78 Then you clearly, CLEARLY have not played another MMO. It's ok to like the game for what it is, but don't pretend it doesn't have its flaws, or that other games are exactly the same. In WoW my rotation can change as much as I want it to, thanks to talents (a lot of them), they don't even have to be cookie cutter to good either nwoadays. I have consistent changes through patches and even tier sets that can switch up how I play in MANY differen ways for just a single SPEC! You cannot compare FF to WoW in terms of gameplay and class customization, you cannot customize anything related to gameplay,. You can however customize your lovely appearance with glamor and stand in maminsa (or w.e)
Happy, did you forget about beastmaster? You mentioned blue mage but nothing on beast. (atleast to me they'll release beastmaster on release or in 1.2 at best not so far as you mentioned Do you think it will release with a lvl 70 cap at first? again 60?
I'm pretty sure they stated at the EU fanfest that the second Limited Job will be in the latter half of 7.X, with the next BLU update coming first. So probably something like 7.25 for BLU and 7.45 for BST given past trends. BLU released at first with a lvl 50 cap, but they said BST would be able to play with other limited jobs, i.e. BLU. So my prediction is either 50 again or straight to 90 to keep up with BLU. The thing is if the don't release it at 90 it'll never catch up if they continue to only do 10 lvls an expansion like they are with BLU.
A.) Same shit we got every other expansion B.) Same time we got it during every other expansion. I'm still happy, and excited, but probably end up feeling just as bored as I am now by the end of it.
As a raider who really doesnt play this game outside of Savage & Ultimate, I do hope Criterion can be released a bit faster than what it was in Endwalker. Waiting until 7.25 theoretically would be kinda a bummer for me. Id like it maybe be 7.15 since you can give players who dont do Ultimate something else to do also instead of that same savage tier from 7.0x -> 7.2.
Its so frustrating how formulaic the content release has become. Ive been playing since 2.0 and its always the same damn thing. Maybe its finally time to say goodbye to eorzea. I had alot of fun with it and definitely got my money's worth
Where I am right now I don't know if you mentioned it but they lied with pvp of if you missed out on season 1 rewards you can buy it in a later season, here we are now and there is no season 1 stuff able to buy and I am not sure about what number we are now but still
They didnt lie, if you actually play the game, and grind PvP but you didn't CLAIM the rewards, you can still go back to the previous season and claim them for a certain amount of time.
Also, nice spoiler for me. I didn't even start the Hildebrand quests for Endwalker before canceling my service on my last account and deleting my character for my new one, so I have to push through Realm Reborn again. :p
I hope they keep pumpin out the variant/criterion/savage dungeon content 4 man is so much fun to blind prog and then switch over to serious mode for the weps.
Personally I hope they make more content implementations for more solo play. I personally found Endwalker a fun expansion because of that very reason. Being able to solo prog VD and even having NPC companions on Eureka Orthos was a genuine surprise for me, Almost like Yoshi-P was reading some of my inner wishes towards more solo play for this game. Not to mention the only trust MSQ Trial (Really hope they make more of these in the future) Though I really think FF12's Gambit system would be perfect for them and possibly overall less effort in comparison to how they expand trusts adding more lore tidbits and carefully crafting speciic behaviours when playing through the MSQ Dungeons as it could provide further support for people to try the others dungeons if it had good gambit commands for endless possibilities... Anyway. At least I know that the fun solo parts of Endwalker will be coming back not to mention a whole new limited job. So at least i'm getting something!
Endwalker was actually *too* focused on single player, with some complaining there isn't enough multiplayer content. Yoshi P has said they're focusing on multiplayer content in DT as a result.
@@yanipheonu I'm aware but it seems some other content that could be played solo is making a comeback on a similar fashion so my hope comes from them to make it balanced and fun for both sides. Also, BigChilla's statement is one of the many examples i'm not fond of interacting with the community as much I would want to. These passive-aggressive remarks is not something I need during my gameplay sessions. Anyway, Super looking foward to the expansion either way.
Get rid of Criterion and add an Dungeon that every clear you add +1 on Monsters Item lvl or add this mechanic to normal trials and every clear it's allow you to add +1 on trial item level, why this? Because we need replayable content that gets tough not HARDER, put an leaderboard and equips.
the only thing i care about is three words One button combos its time to make combos one button press or a two press. Its at the point its going to be needed for future skills to be added
Why are we looking so far in advance? Dawntrail is so far out…I get wanting to make predictions but this doesn’t bring any real value and think most players should just live in the moment and enjoy the content as is comes out.
Me knowing i will just take 2 subs during the whole Dawntrail cycle because they are still not making any rework of the glamour system, forcing me to buy more servants to be able to keep these new pieces of gear which is getting on my nerves. I will just enjoy the story at release then come back for the 7.5X. :/
The way they release content has nothing to do with anything other than milking subscriptions. Do you honestly believe that the Lion's Share of their subscription base is worried about what the 5% of players who Rush due to the game?
Ive recently caught up to current patch with story, still have lots of other things to do on the side. One thing I wish they could do is add more materia types. Like a barrage materia only equippable for weapons that activates randomly on skills or something. Feel like materia is a missed opportunity for some fun builds for weapons. Idk if anyone has done insight on that or if yoshi p has talked about it.
That's never gonna happen. They've actually *removed* a lot of materia types in the past when reworking various systems, so don't expect to have stuff that actually gives new abilities to happen in materia. The kind of content you're talking about happens in the Duty Actions in the Field Operations like Eureka and Bozja. It's gonna stay in that self-contained type if content.
This team likes to play it super safe with things like that. Look at ffxvi combat and how simple minded it was designed. Field operations usually gives the custom options which is cool
@aaronlefebre5060 actually Yoshi P has said they want to rework Materia eventually. Understandably that's a major thing to change, so will take time. Materia being updated is not a matter of if, but when and how.
