FFXIV Dawntrail Job Action Trailer REACTION - Bard 

Bard got pretty much all I could ask for. Songs are now buffs and not attacks, and pitch perfect now does aoe.

I'll have to get a feel for the job again after Dawntrail comes out. It is a job i haven't played as much since Shadowbringers, but was a main I played from 1.0 to 3.0 and just hasn't really drawn me in as much since. I do like that songs no longer require a target to attack to activate, that always felt a little dumb after they changed them from how they were initially. However, I do hope they made sure to redistribute that damage it did to compensate for the loss of it being an attack. They didn't really do that after they got rid of the damage from repelling arrow and couple other since removed attacks which really hurt brds performance in the long run, and yes that is even taking into the account of weapon dmg increase and removal of the -20% dmg nerf brd had in earlier expansions. For those who don't know, songs used to have a -20% dmg debuff to brd in use and weapon damage was significantly lower than other weapons because we used to need ammo that made up some of the difference - but not all - until they got rid of ammo all together. Songs have long since gone through various changes in what they do, but current song buffs feel fairly good over all so hopefully they don't mess with it too much here.
