If Dragon King Thordan had the time to yell out to us like he did at the end of the canon-timeline fight, I'd imagine it would have been along that line.

First group I've seen clear with a Dragoon. I understand why it's not a popular choice since all the downtime hurts building combo momentum, but it just seems like the right job for the Dragonsong War.

Fighting for 35+ minutes of unforgiving mechanics across multiple phases. Yet some give up after wiping once or twice on tamer challenges where an individual is clearly new. You wanna get to these challenges and win? Earn it! It's not one person. These guys had to not just be good enough but also sync with each other.

As exhilarating it was to complete this instance, I have absolutely no desire to ever set foot back into it lol. It's just way too punishing imo especially in Phase 6. I think that Phase 3 is incredibly fun, as in, probably the most fun and interesting bit of mechanics and encounter design in the entire game...but when you are having to do it over...and over...and over again as you prog later on in the fight...it is a real daunting Phase to have to repeat. Phase 6 is another choke point that I feel like they just went a bit too far with. Phase 3 and 6 are what killed a lot of party finder and even statics that I was in when I was progging this fight. I get that Ultimates are supposed to be this extraordinary test for players so it should be balls the walls hard...but I think they went a bit too far with this one. It's kind of unfortunate too that the vast majority of the weapons, in my opinion, look really awful...like...the worst Ultimate weapons in the game. The NIN and DRK ones stand out as pretty great...but the rest are extremely fugly. I know a lot of people that do Ultimates only for the weapons so I have a feeling that even multiple expansions from now, people are not really going to have a big desire to go back into DSR to farm weapons like you see with TEA, UCOB, and UWU.
