DUDE! That was me! I was the healer you guys helped with. lmao We were in Dzemael Darkhold and I was getting flustered with the purple stuff and the healing overwhelmed me. As ab Experienced MMO player, I love the way presented how a dungeon should be a relaxed learning experience. IMO, I think it's a great way to possibly bring a new player closer to raiding.

I’m glad you mentioned letting players finish the cutscene. I once had a party speed run an entire boss without me while I was in a main story cutscene, and it kind of ruined the dungeon for me.

This is a really good rundown. I like the emphasis on making sure that everyone has a good experience, especially the new people. You're right, dungeons are supposed to be fun and relaxing, and it really sours the atmosphere when you get someone in the party who wants to treat it like they're doing Savage prog.

As a new player and tank. I’ve had nothing but a great experience thus far from vet players I meet in duty finder. They usually just let me play blind and figure stuff out if I tell em im new to the dungeon. Ofc I’ll ask if they are okay with that first so I don’t waste their time either lol. Thus far everyone wants a new player to enjoy the first run. I pay homage to new players in that content as well lol. Keep the cycle going 😄

Really good video, thank you for your advices ! One little thing ill add : as a main dps, pull countdowns are very much appreciated, even in dungeons. When i play tank i usually leave 7 to 10 seconds (depending on the classes) for the group to prepare before pulling the boss. For exemple, when i play as monk, i need about 8 seconds to get in coeurl form using Form shift, so a 10 seconds countdown is welcome. Its especially appreciated if someone in the party is new and just watched the cutscene : the countdown will act as a ready check and it will leave enough time for the group to prepare their opener/stacks/buffs etc.

Loved this video. I am new to MMO’s. I went into a dungeon for the first time after I had literally gotten my Fire IV and had not quite mastered keeping Enochian up yet. We weren’t wiping but it would take a little longer than the healer liked to move through it. He screamed at me through the entire dungeon and got me so shaken up and I was about crying by the time I got out of there. I blocked him so I would never be in a dungeon with him again. It was a horrible, awful experience and I would never put anyone through that.

Recently ran a dungeon….Cutter I think. So the tank was pulling a bunch of stuff at once, and normally I can handle it. However, this group was bickering, mainly at the healer because the healer was …..not really healing. He was like MIA. I was telling everyone that we can do this and……..eventually I’m not sure if I was removed or what because the one guy was like “This isn’t gonna work”! And that’s all I know. I never got yelled at…..I cut through the scenes but I’ll wait until I see the others go. I also make it a point is to tell people they are doing a great job, or the healer is doing really well. And I mean what I say. I like to keep things positive because I was from WoW and……yeah.

I've played with voice chat for so long I really miss it in this game.

I've been experiencing an issue lately where the tanks are trying to agro the whole freaking dungeon pretty much all in 1 go. Like they know they're the tank and they speed run the whole freaking thing and I've been having some serious issues keeping up with them. It really ruins the experience when they leave party members behind.

That beginner WHM story had to be beforel they made MP be 100% based for all level in 5.0. Cuz of MP management for WHM is thee easiest especially for LV52 onward since then. I remember the WHM MP struggles all well pre-5.0 leveling dungeons in barely decent gear ugh lol. Also the Cure 1 tip to free Cure 2 proc is an MP trap, so worthless LV50+ with how WHM changes onward its later instant cast free heals.

if you say "hey, you're doing it wrong" in a english speaking server, they'll say "stfu you don't pay my sub".

If you're dpsing please for the love of god don't pull mobs, that is the tanks job, if your tank isn't going fast enough for your liking then I suggest you pick up a tank job and do it yourself

Letting people watch the cutscenes... yeah... its getting worse from what I've noticed... I just created an alt character to re-experiance (more or less, I mean, I did it before...) MSQ and in Toto Rak (?), with that long a** "conversation" with Lahabrea, the group pulled. The bossfight was finished before the cutscene - and all the while I heard the fighting and all. This may be special case, after all, almost every other dungeon only has 5-10 sec boss cinematics... but it really galled me none the less. Sure, my case doesnt really count, after all, I'm not a sprout and I know the story, but how many groups dont regard those real sprouds? Alliance raids, old and new, are also good excample :( How often does the endboss in Aglaia gets pulled before everyone is in the arena, not to mention people watching the cinamatic... And its not even a long cinematic >.< At least in dungeons you can "force" people to wait when you're the tank or healer :D Also, with Endwalker you can do those dungeons with NPCs. Its slow going, one pack at a time, but its smooth and you can do it at your own pace, looking around, reading those pamphlets often littered around... especially in dungeons like Steel Vigil or Twinning, you want to read them...

1:41 i play ff14 since 2013 and in my exp. Raid players (EXTREME/ULTIMATE...) are 80% of the time more shit than the normal roulette players. Flashy weapons and titles HA HA HA they are worse than Noob's lmao.
