@@Junweitrustnobody1403 it’s very fun, especially because I spent a lot of the expansion thinking “stupid sexy Zenos” and I absolutely head canon the fight to be my WoL and Zenos having the universe’s biggest flirt-off
Because I started FF14 late, I got to Reaper as soon as I hit Shadowbringers. So in-universe, Zenos ditched his Katanas/Samurai and tried to copy the Warrior of Light and beat him at his own game in Endwalker.
@@VDA19 this is also perfectly in-character for Zenos because regardless of your main, Zenos pretty much considers you the strongest thing in existence
The timing on this is simply perfect. The powerup as they sing "every step we take" and everything else was perfectly synchronised. It couldn't be any more perfect even if someone else tried it, I swear.
That's why I had to record and save it! I know when I touch EWs NG+ I might never get this satisfaction again! The window is so short and specific! You'd also have to go pretty much the entire fight up till the window again if you miss it. That's like 3 to 4 minutes.
There is actually a ton of moments like this in the game. One of the major contributors as to why I loved DSR so much (specifically as paladin) is because the music lined up with all the mechanics and my paladin abilities. Nishogg phase was especially peak encounter design.
I had tears in my eyes from how epic this was when I was playing through it, all the years and experiences coming to a head in one final face off. I’m so glad we get to share this moment
I was happy to use reaper throughout Endwalker MSQ. Made zenos seem as my characters opposite(which he kinda is). Made my character have black and blonde hair(the black taking over the blonde as a sign of “decay”) from using the void in a sense in reaper.
It is kind cool if you used Reaper before him. He sees that the strongest being ever is using Reaper, and is like “DAMN, OK” and switches just for us. It is kind of a cool head canon.
@@diousthomas8878 well, that's exactly what happened to me. I started playing a couple of months before the release of Endwalker, and towards the end of Stormblood I changed class to reaper. So in my story, Zenos in Ala Mhigo was defeated by the Reaper. And then he himself changed his weapon ..)
Thank you so much for the compliment!! I made sure since the beginning of Shadowbringers to have a scenario fit for the story so with EW coming out I wanted the same!! Fun tidbit, the white streaks are from the end of 6.0 where the light consumes your character. I wanted to have some type of physical alteration from that event.
@@temi97 No way! I actually did the same thing with my Xaela, caused by the same event. She had dark blue-ish skin and black hair before, but got turned by the Light's corruption to have white hair and a brighter skin tone as well. I love it how invested people in FF14 can get with their characters, truly making a journey out of the game's events.
I had similar moment when I met Hien on a sunset. These moments when music, scene and other moments connect together, create just immaculate experience.
The funny thing is I fought him in that final Stormblood duel as Samurai without knowing that would happen going into it (intro to Shadowbringers trailer intensifies) then went through Endwalker as Reaper also not really expecting another complete mirror duel even though I knew Zenos job-changed to Reaper as well.
I stayed with my main kind of for the opposite reason. I was DRG when I fought him the first time. He switched jobs since and so had I, to something I enjoyed far more (GNB to be specific). We both moved on from our original jobs to something that suited us better. I felt like since he was fighting me at his best, I could do no less.
I keep on returning to watch this battle against zenos. It was one of my favourite final clashes with any bad guys in this game. The music, the atmosphere, the sunset scenery, intense battle to the death. This had it all. Emotions, struggle and so much more. How i want to do this battle again in the game.
That sweet sweet final hit to Zenos sending him flying, a bit of blood scattering into the air, with my WoL decked in Tataru's Ninja job set gear (except wearing the Deepgold Mask of Scouting), is still my favorite desktop wallpaper of all time.
Really, the only thing missing from this finale is the "DUTY COMPLETE" prompt after the Warrior of Light knocks out Zenos. Just to really drive home that he won the fight.
I love this fight so much coming from the emotions of the endsinger fight straight into this and damn am I thankful for playing reaper for most of the game I got my wish a 1 on 1 reaper fight with zenos at the edge of the stars it’s beautiful and iconic. Thank you for the syncing it makes this moment even better
Oooo that is satisfying, feeling it sync perfectly What i would give for an instance rebattle feature for NG+ i know i could just replay all of 6.0 (which is awesome) but this and the venat fight i would love to revisit.
@@pforgottonsoul I actually started to level them up right after the cutscene where Zenos possesses your character. I wanted to have a bit of a headcannon that Zenos corrupted a bit of my character's soul but also accidentally gave him the ability to use reaper since it's a Garlean skill canonically. Making this fight, so. damn. SATISFYING!
I was definitely happy to have done this fight as Reaper (I'm a male Au Ra as well, so it felt good to have an all out edgelord duel), but I also think it fits well if you're a Paladin and even Monk. I guess it works just as well with other Tank/Melee jobs, but I bet it does feel silly if you were a ranged DPS or healer and then suddenly you're just throwing fists at Zenos
Two rivals settling things once and for all at the end of the universe while rock plays in the back ground and finishing with a fist fight. Doesn’t get more anime than this
Recently did this fight on my Miqo Monk, and man I was so damn pumped by the time the cutscene happened. My WoL felt she was going super saiyan throughout the whole thing lol.
Try being a male white mage in the level 90 artifact your just a dude In a frilly robe besting the crap out of a guy in armor i laughed hard during the punching.
I 100% expected Zenos to stab Meteion in the back of something to get a rise out of us. I was shocked when he let her go. Doubly shocked when he straight up just ASKED to fight. A chad to the end.
An earlier version of Zenos probably would've, in an attempt to get a rise out of you and make you want him dead, but at this point he's grown enough to just ask.
I like when media that ramps up constantly to the point that the hero is fighting the concept of despair itself always ending with a completely non magical fist fight between two people somehow being more epic than everything before it
When I started this game I did Dark Knight then went into Samurai as soon as I could when going into Stormblood. Then as Endwalker came out I went to Reaper. So every time I saw Zenos we had copied classes. It was such a fun fight.
Normally, I'd steer clear of videos likes these to avoid spoilers since I'm still in Stormblood, but I like what I see. I got as far as SBLD post-base campaign with one of my two characters I played with the most before I had to halt sub renewal (Partly due to personal reasons and the fact that I have so many games to play). Another reason I'm still in SBD, SCREW having to pain-stakingly grind your gear level just to access end-game quests because that's the one thing that stalled my progression the worst. (enough said there.) It's been about 4 or 5 years since I've last logged on to FF14, but the more I think about it, the I want to come back. I had quite an experience with this game. Any picture, music, or video related makes me wanna return even more and I intend to one of these days. Soon enough, I hope.☺
Honestly had something just as fitting when i did this. It was funny was, despite not having reaper, I was using the gunblade, which felt fitting as a garlean type of weapon, but more importantly, when the punch out started, the "storm of blood" part of footfalls happened, and it was *so* fitting for the finale to be that
I was conflicted on what class to play in ew between my favourite (sam), my first (Bard), a healer which I had yet to do for a full dlc (sage) or Reaper. And I can say with utmost certainty picking a class purely for how well it fits Endwalker, Reaper was a right choice. It's ties to Garlemald, the generally darker tone of alot of the msq and above all else how awesome it is to mirror match Zenos just makes it perfect.
Actually all cutscenes have them, no matter what race or class you play as. It's most likely that the character models where so tall that their mouths were out of frame.
I did the fight prior with SCH, and quickly swapped to SMN to face Zenos, and I can't tell you how genuinely funny and awesome it was for my character to go "alright fuck the books, catch these hands" and my dainty ass was tossing up Zenos like a salad LOL Genuinely awesome.
The games a anime. A bloody good one. Even the final boss is a interlude to the final boss who feels you are his friend. Cause Stronk! After he swoops in to help you.
No one except for minor side characters ever die in this game. That's my main criticism about it, death fake outs for days (regardless of what the fanboys preach). Heavensward is the only expansion that had major side characters die.
@@nimazsheik5152 this entire expansion is about defying the "heroic sacrifice" trope and ACTUALLY SAVING EVERYONE or at least, as close to everyone as you can.
I hate this fight with all my soul. I wanted Zenos to stay there at the end of the universe for the rest of eternity, never scratching the itch that made him do all the atrocities he caused. Death by the hand of the WoL was too good for him.
Uhm... Hate to break this to you, and several others it seems. But most of these fights and cutscenes have "filler" beats, that will repeat until the proper timing. It's one of many tricks they use to add weight to the soundtracks in combat.
Yeah, like if you mean the bit from 0:18 to 0:37 Then of course. That's the bit I'm highlighting for the keen eyed cause the beat is at its lowest till it resumes to the main chorus. We even during that we get dialogue to keep the viewer/player engaged. Notice that after the main chorus kicks back in, the dialogue stops too. The last part speaks for itself as the music hypes up. You can 100% play this fight and end up with the music unmatched.
