FFXIV - Stormblood: Content Breakdown for New/Trial Players 

Update: It is with heavy heart that I have to inform you that Ultimate Raids will not be available to the free trial. Correction: There are actually three treasure dungeons not two. One can only be accessed through a special treasure map which I was unaware of until recently.

Not only do you get Stormblood glams, but you get the swag mage, Red Mage. That's a double glam victory.

One snag regarding Eureka that Free Trial players may want to keep in mind: You will not be able to use /shout in Eureka, which will make communicating to someone that you've died and need a revive a bit problematic.

lol your channel was the first thing i thought of when the expanded free trial was announced! even as a subbed player, your sidequest videos are still ones i come back to from time to time to see what i've missed. i also hope you enjoy the new msq, since even if it gets a bad rap, it is still very good imo, and the 4.x patches are some of my favorite in the game!

Before researching this, I had thought there was 5 custom delivery NPCs available in Stormblood. but it turns out the ones in the Firmament you need Shadowbringer to actually do. Luckily I double checked.

A big problem trial players will have with Eureka is inventory there are 40 items in eureka I would classify as important items stuff you put in your inventory until you done with them. -11x Items uses to progress the relics + 1 to optionally enhance it further -4x ingridents used to craft a exp pot + plus the potion itself -7x different kinds of lootboxes -5x different orbs to collect to obtain a certain gear piece -2x sets of 3 different rare items to obtain a certain kinda power. -3x set of items needed to enter a particular kind of portal -2x items used to obtain a notable gear piece It's gonna be growing issue with the amount of items you accumilate from unfinished projects be it eureka related, potsherds, totems from extreme trials, relic materials or rare fates be ready to stretch those 210 inventory slots to their limits or give in to desire and enter subscription to access the 350 additional inventory slots that comes with the retainers :9 Shout about death is the least of your problems -Can't shout to tell you still on the way to an activity -Can't shout to ask for information notable since the game don't offer a lot of guidance the game litterarly at a point tells you to ask another player on how to progress. -Can't shout to ask for a tracker or share your own

this game have been a huge life saver for me, as someone who is currently in school and cannot afford subscription due to no job and being poor, this game helps with anxiety and stuff.. like its my escape and has helped me a lot. its basically the only game i have on ps5 which my older sister gift me a during the pandemic. i hope the developers will add shadowbinders and keep free trial players in mind during updates.

I have a friend who has been playing for almost 2 years on free trial. He said he would buy the game when he had nothing else to do. I was so close to getting my first referal and getting the twintannia Mount, but now, with stromblood, he will have 2 more years of free content. I mean, I am happy that he is enjoying my favorite game, but no twintannia mount for me, I guess. Haha.

For the fisher, having access to Kugane will also unlock the new fishing boat roads. Yet more fishes! ^__^

I started a free trial account about a year ago and I was about to buy Complete Edition with it's on going sale, but then saw trial extension news on Fanfest live stream... Guess that will have to wait for at least another half a year haha. Please make another updated video with more details once you go trough some content yourself!

I really wanna play FFXIV, but I plan on getting a new computer first. Very cool to see the free trial being expanded again.

So sub players who dident buy the other expansions are the same as trial players both can only play to level 70 and Stromblood?

How far will the Idyllshire poetics gear from Heavensward carry you into Stormblood? With ARR into HW, my Ironworks poetics gear from ARR carried me no problem up until I was able to purchase the Idyllshire gear. Will the Idyllshire gear last just as long, or should I look into getting replacements at some point during the expansion?

With the expansion, has Square said if the FT players be able to play as Horthgar/Viera or these are locked behind the subscription?

me having both the fully ffxiv account and free trial account , enjoyable experience hehehe might as well start to collect those cards for who knows when they announce shb in trial i would collect those cards then get me that card mount also bunny girl yehaaw my only fantasia in the free trial i'm saving it for good

I would like to point out that prior to STB there were no Ultimates. So this means FT players can attempt Ultimates now.

Is there a recommended job to play through stormblood? Heavensward seemed like it was partial to dragoon

(The only humanoid one, the others you cannot glam are Ehil Tou, who is a drake, and the bushman guy in Il Mheg because, well, he's a giant bush. Everyone else is fair game. I glammed Adrikagh with an electric blue toad suit. XD)

Also, I am actually doing a Solo Bard challenge under the Free Trial on my newest PSN account. So far I have gotten to Level 19 in Archer and Level 8 in Botanist, Leatherworker and Carpenter. (I have the Road to 80 buff because I am on Dynamis.)
