time travel is fickle....you have to be there or for example Argos in Mare Lamentorum would not know and trust you. so it was pretty determined you would go and interact. you went to elpis now because you were there some thousand years ago to set things in motion.

That happened to me when I got there. My friends were all hype for my reaction and I couldn't see anything.

Elips definitely suffers more than most zones at that opening pan from the fog weather.

@@Enderlinkpawnu They seriously should have coded that every opening scene for a new location should be clear weather at least in the cutscene. For Elpis, I would have figured for such important location they would have done that.

I lost my shit as well. Just being in this area is insane, and they obviously kept this zone a complete surprise before the expansion released so it was an awesome surprise

By seeing a youtube thumbnail, I knew we were going to run into Emet-Selch again at some point in Endwalker. But I thought it was going to be 1 conversation. This more than exceeding my expectations. I just finished Endwalker and want more, but I also feel so satisfied with what we got.

I think he also has something to say if you’re a Roe! Ahhh always a critic…

@@theprideling I play femroe and yeah, Hythlo remarks that now the player might be a bit TOO big. In either case, Emet responds with "The size befits the proportions"

Yep! I can’t understand people who say ShB was better than EW. They are one in the same story and can’t happen without the other.

This is just my opinion SHB is better than EW because - The base story of Endwalker for me it feels to be cramped into base game, and i think the story should've ended in a patch - The choice between sharlayan and thavnair MSQ shouldn't exist, and i was lucky because many told me that i choose correctly to start with Sharlayan first - (personal nitpick) The moon during MSQ made me for the first time to say I WANT TO FLY ALREADY. The quests were great, but walking from point A to point B was a draaaag, and i didn't complain about Camp Cloudrop - *SPOILER FINAL QUARTER OF ENDWALKER STORY* ULTIMA THULE was predictable and didn't have any tension Not only did i predicted how scions will be literally stepping stones for WoL, but i also couldn't take seriously the Scions grief over lost comrades, especially that Yshtola said that we have the Azem Crystal empowered by Mommy Crystal to get them back Edit: Also i want to point out that it can be made predictable AND enjoyable but here wasn't so much

This is where I felt that this should have been another expansion. Having too many story beats made the previous zones feel like after thoughts.

@@MrSpiderspider12 I disagree with the expansion feeling cramped. Ending the story in a patch would be torture, and the wait between 6.0 and 6.3 would kill the pacing far more than fitting it into the base game (which is also significantly longer than previous expacs). I already think EW spends a frustratingly long amount of time messing about with loporrits on the moon, which feels entirely unnecessary, and then again in Labrynthos. ShB has many more instances of these forgettable filler zone quests than EW, it's just... people forget about them. I started with Thavnair and had zero issues with how the story played out, making perfect sense. I'm not sure why you think there's a "correct" choice. This seems like something you've just heard other people tell you, and not something you've actually tried yourself. Additionally, there's a very good reason why you have a choice here and it's to make sure people playing day 1 aren't all funnelled into the same zone and instances, causing a bottleneck that prevents progress. (This happened in StB, and it was a serious problem.) *Spoilers:* And I don't think the writers really expected most people to think the worst in Ultima Thule (maybe have a tiny bit of anxiety). That's not really the point. It's still a complete mystery about HOW you're going to reunite with everyone. It's about feeling the weight of total responsibility. But I agree it did err on the side of being slightly too melodramatic, and I felt like it took a bit too long in general.

I started playing after endwalker was releases. What you mean Launch week LOL.... people were waiting for days to be able to play. 😂 Server issues caused alot of people to not being able to properly enjoy the expansion. But i hope 7.0 will have thos fixed and we ALL can properly enjoying the new expansion without having to sit in a qeue of 7000 people

I still can't believe it!? If you notice on the corkboard I show during the video I jokingly say "...unless we have a Delorean we're not going to be able to find out all we want to know about the ancients & their society..." because who could've called we'd TRAVEL BACK IN TIME!? AHHHH!! Definitely need to go back and do all the optional quests at some point :)

The aetherytes do not surprise me. The sightseeing log of the aetheryte in kugane mentions that aetherytes were made by mysterious group of people or individual. My guess is that ascians used these and shared some of this knowledge so people could make them for them to use. At the time not knowing the sundered cud make use of them too. It wud also make sense then to see them in the past as well as the shards such as the first. Due to ascians and ancients

@@cherrydragon3120 my guess is the aetherytes came from the ancients, passed down to the allagans trough fandanny/amon, and then rediscoverd/reverse engineered by current day aetherologists

@@internaut4257 Also don't forget Hades is responsible for most of their advanced tech beforehand especially in imperial nations. He is responsible for magitek being adopted from allagan tech.

We, as the WoL, directly affected SO much of the present by meddling in Elpis.

@@WalkerRileyMC Some of the safer paradoxes. Pre destination for one is heavy in here. Things exist as they are because the fiddling itself is part of the flow of time. Alexander had a lot of that mixed with a sprinkling of boostrap paradox.

Naw, she deserved all the pain she got. She was the biggest mass-murderer of all of the Ancients and caused more pain and suffering for "good" than anything the Ascians could have done.

The 'Reinforcements' line is for Au'ra, it's in reference to their scales. Hroth, Vierra and Miqo get lines about animalistic features idk about others

@@CanisMythson The "reinforcement" line is for all other races (including Hrothgar, for some reason). You can fine the transcript for the quest on Gamer Escape which shows all alternate dialogue options. They copy all their information on their directly from the game's files via bots, so it's definitely accurate.

I love the Nagrand comparison! I think for me it rivals arriving in the Howling Fjord for the first time, that sense of awe and bewilderment is something I’ve not felt since in an MMO, but FFXIV has come close to several times, most of all that first trip to The First, and now Elpis 😄

@@EndyD20 I don't think any zone reveal in WoW ever made me feel the way a lot of the zone reveals in FFXIV often do. WoW's story never took itself seriously enough for me to get even half as invested in it as I was in FFXIV since I first stepped off the boat in Limsa. Though Elpis was special. I consider the zone title card for Elpis being revealed to be one of the best moments of Endwalker, as silly as that may sound. it was certainly a fantastic example of how to use the medium of video games for effective storytelling.

I agree with this. When I first played ShB it was good. Very good. Then (I think I started in february this year?) I replayed ShB and then EW, side by side, and OMG I LOVED ShB EVEN MORE. I was very partial to Emet, but now I love him with my heart and soul, and well, don't get me started on how much I love Hyth because I can stay here all night xD

my first thought was the kingdom of Zeal from Chrono Trigger- which, to my understanding, was the actual inspiration for Elpis's design.

Yeah, he really misses a lot by not taking two hours per stream -stalling- thinking deeper on anything.

We literally have a fog counter in chat because it's ruined *so* many moments during my playthrough - the first cinematic shot of the Crystal Tower back in 2.0 was just... fog. You couldn't even see the tower. I like to think all of that bad luck made up for the good luck here :D

G'raha didn't merge with his counterpart of the First. He traveled with the Crystal Tower into the First and went back in the crystal with the WoL. Back there, his two souls merged into one but possibly kept the same density as before. I's not very clear, but it's possible that what was brought back was just his memories, which were infused into his younger body. And Ryne and Minfilia are not the same sundered soul. Ryne inherited her powers, but Hydaelyn took Minfilia's soul back to the lifestream in the Source. She mentions it explictly in Endwalker.

We literally have a "ruined by fog" counter in my chat and, last time I checked, it was somewhere near 40? The Crystal Tower and The Azim Steppe were the worst culprits. I'd like to think all of the bad fog luck I've had was to ensure clear skies in Elpis :D

Yes! As I'm not able to "study" other thumbnails, I'd blindly worked off of the same logic as chat had given me with the 5.0/5.3 thumbnails and figured it was all fair game. After it had been brought to my attention I looked to fix it ASAP; a lapse of judgment and a major oversight in retrospect, but I'm glad we were able to fix it within an hour of the old thumbnail going live, so no damage should have been done!
