Since this is your first character on a new Data Center the 1 million gil is a new player bonus for reaching level 30 the first time, it typically is accompanied by an extra 15 days of play time too
Was just thinking when the next episode was going to be up and lo' and behold, here it is! Good luck on the grind for the first dungeon, can't wait to see whether it's doable or not!
An idea for the dungeons... does duty support (NPCs) break the rule of no help? If not, that could be an option to get stuck in and not have to solo them.
I think the first unavoidable raidwide is Ifrit at level 20 unless you somehow powerlevel yourself to a point that you can one shot Ifrit before he gets to do mechanics. Edit: Actually, there might be some in one of the dungeons before that, I'd have to look.
Superb challenge! I don't know what the criteria is but I do remember in the early days of playing my character (way before completing ARR) received a seemingly random 1mil gil. I did not receive it for every character but it was definitely 1mil. I also cannot find any mention of a reward of that sum. Might be something someone else can confirm(?)
The stakes do make it more interesting, but are completely impractical. One mistake and the series is over. Having to re-do the fight until you can pull a damage-less run is high stakes enough (not to mention the time needed to grind for better equipment).
@@kajacx I believe this is why he has practice accounts. They help him understand the rng and damage looks like and plan winning strategies. It is a LOT of work but the stakes on the main account are high but not as high as you seem to be imagining. The stakes are inflated by him doing it at the lowest possible level. The risks are mainly him getting unlucky in a way he cannot have planned a successful mitigation for, or him making a movement or casting mistake that is big enough to fail the challenge. Keeping it at lowest possible levels increases this risk but also speeds up the progress through the game and likely saves what there is of his sanity by unlocking larger exp sources sooner. It also makes it more interesting because of the stakes and the cleverness which must be utilized. I can think of a few ways to go about getting no damage in dungeons and I am interested in which ways he will wind up taking. (My ideas stop working at SB but I suppose that might not matter since there are fights scripted to take your health down to 1 before those dungeons. Even in the story itself.) For me the how is the fun of it. I will be sad when it is over but in life some things are precious precisely because they are fleeting. I would be happy to see him continue even if he fails, but the consequences he has imposed on himself are part of what makes this series so compelling in the first place. It makes even weak enemies legitimately dangerous at all times. I am having a blast watching him carve out this new game inside the game. And I think you are too because you are here and seem to care.
