I was just thinking of finding a controller to expressively play four brass voices in my modular, found Linnstrument, then googled that and FH-2 and got here. Man you've done it all, you've answered all my questions and played a fantastic brass quartet live - improvised AFAICT. Bravo, chapeau, merci beaucoup !

Very well presented and explained. And of course, extremely useful. I have a Linn-128, a FH-2 and a rack full of osc and vca + filters. All I need is now is some spare time to enjoy all of that.
I was going to end my comment with my appreciation of all the great info. But then when you played your piece I was simply blown away. There are a lot of great modular pieces but this is unprecedented. Great, great job on your composition.
that intro! SHEEEEESH you knocked it out the park within the first minute and then followed it with the most comprehensive document of the FH-2 across the internet. Seriously, you rock dude.
Thank you so much for starting this series!! I love my FH-2 but I’m totally lost when it comes to setting it up! Sounds like my main use case (controlling my Eurorack via iPad apps) is on your list so I’m beyond stoked!
Haha. I cued up some Moog One demos then this vid at the end. When the intro to this vid finally started, I thought, Wow, now *this* sounds amazing. Linnstrument + FH-2 is amazing for monophonic patches. This polyphonic setup is on another level - superb. I like that the filters aren't all exactly alike. Very nice playing :)
Excellent, recently got one with two a CV's and to GT's but still not got mine set up as cannot understand jumper configuration, if you could include this in future, would be so appreciated. Look forward to future ones and hopefully working with computer software configure. keep up good work, and you are getting pretty good on the Linnstrument, to say how long you have been a Linnstrumentalist.
you wouldn't send the Linnstrument MPE. The Linnstrument would send MPE to the FH2 to be converted to CV for the modular. And no, this is not an audio ijterface, it's a MIDI to CV converter mostly. You cannot use it to send audio to a DAW
@@QuincasMoreira Os: "you could use the CV/MIDI function to convert to MIDI, then route the MIDI internally and use a MIDI/CV converter to generate CVs. That would effectively quantize the CV to semitones"
Not sure if you've seen this, but I keep having the FH-2 try to use 4 voices instead of the two I've set it for. I don't have any expanders, so I've got 2 voices with pitch, velocity gate, aftertouch, and Y axis. It's set to two voices on MPE with the last channel as 3. When I go to play (in unison, round robin, etc.) the first two presses go through as expected on channels 2 then 3 if I'm reading that right. Then the following two go silent as they seem to try to go to channels 4 then 5... but from what I understood I'd already set it to only have the two voices so unsure how. Is there another section that I might've overlooked that might be tripping me up? Could this be from a setting on linnstrument I missed?
I found a temporary workaround of telling it I have 4 voices and using unison. At least now I can not have missing notes. But each time I press a linnstrument key the FH-2 shows it as switching to the next channel, as if some part of the system was using round robin even though I told it not to.
Amazing. do you do music tec consulatianons? I have 2000 hours on the linnstrument with the rc 505 and my computer, but hardly understand anything of the device above but would pay for help with my set up and sound design support with the evolution of the tech you help me continue to understand. do you have time for a willing student?
I’m trying to decide between the polyend 2 or this? This seems a little more powerful. Also like the microtonal capabilities. How do you feel about the polyend 2?
