The sword returns to her slumber, awaiting the day when she is needed once more... This is my cover of Fi's Farewell!
About two to three months ago at this point, I acquired a shakuhachi, a native bamboo flute from Japan, and my goal was to eventually play this song on it. Eventually, I got the instrument under my fingers and was able to (after MANY takes) get a decent recording. I also decided to play with the track a bit by adding a delayed flute track in the second melody and, in the third, a countermelody akin to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Nothing short of enchanting… it’s incredible how heavily my feelings towards games hinges on their music, because this cover has me yearning to revisit Skyward Sword desperately - and that little nod to Ballad of the Goddess at the end really cemented that Wonderful work, as always!

Holy shi- this is BEYOND incredible!! The mix and your arrangement sounds sooo good and that shakuhachi sounds siccckkkkk! First time listening to this one and I love these chords. Definitely checking out your other covers!

I love this song! You did such an excellent job and the addition of the Shakuhachi is so wonderful! I really love the timbre of that, and it really adds to the cover. Great piano solo in the middle and at the end. Really beautiful stuff!

Thank you so much!!! Nintendo’s released a few shakuhachi-based tracks over the years and I’ve just grown to love the instrument so much through them. I’m glad I was able to include it. I really appreciate it!

Really lovely take on this song. This one always punches me in the gut, and your performance just added to the emotion. The shakuhachi sounds gorgeous, great job! Beautiful ending as well.
