So there's not much info on this not cranking over fault, this is purely an age related/build quality fault on this model, newer models probably won't suffer with this as later models are different.
Thank you ssooooo much for this video. My husband and I have been looking for a solution for 2 weeks now. We even changed the starter and some fuses without success. Your video saved us to get the car towed to the garage (who aren't used to repair Fiat and would have charged an arm and a leg). What a small piece that has a huge impact on the whole mechanic.

Had the same thing with the granddaughters car A,A didn't spot it ,took it to a garage had to pay 79pounds,very good video, very common fault on early ones Hers was a 9 plate.
thanks so much, I was having the same problem and checked and both of the earth leads had corroded, replaced them and the car start straight away, thanks again.
Good to find your post as we have the same problem on 10 plate. I had already changed the earth strap but it did not solve our problem. We still have a car which randomly decides not to start. Period of standing still makes no difference. We generally leave the car for 30 mins and it will start. Anyone with any suggestions
Absolutely bang on car wouldn’t jump from donor to battery but moving the negative to the engine it fired so tried the jump lead from the cars negative terminal to the engine mount and it fire straight away thanks for posting this

Had this today, Fuel-cuttoff unavailable on the display. Wouldn't crank. Was stuck in the middle of nowhere luckily AA guy knew of the common fault and replaced it. Such a poor part the OEM one, just fell to bits.
Thanks for the video. Did the car give any faults on the display ? E.g. Fuel cut off not available - see handbook ? I have a 2008 Fiat 500 that won't crank but I get several faults on the display. Will check the earth wire ... Never had any problems before with this car.
I have same problem it clicks but nothing happens i charged the battery but just clicked with warning lights of airbag, no fuel, ect… Hope this works !! Thanks for the video ours is a 2013 plate lounge
It's all about the earth/ground strap going from the chassis to the engine under the battery, give it a pull, I did that & it dissintergrated in my hand.
