Now this is something you don't see every day! In this video I'll take you onboard a mid engine, single seat 1995 Fiat Cinquecento built from scratch! This little beast features a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R engine swap that revs up to 12k rpm and produces 250 horsepower!
VIdeo has been filmed during the 8° Formula Challenge del Lupo 2018 at Castelletto di Branduzzo circuit, in Italy.

You set the suspension to the track specification, and they had it too hard for this bumpy track.

@@MsSomeonenew No... That's not it at all this is about right for a push rod suspension in a light weight car. The easiest way to tell is watching the steering wheel and the grip of the car he hardly every loses traction of the car and is not constantly correcting the wheel, if the car was too bumpy and not dampened correctly the car would be bottoming out or hopping and would cause him to lose grip due to the stiffness or the dampness of the suspension.

@@Not_Hans It may be dampened correctly for the spring stiffness but in the end you can clearly see the tire bouncing off the the ground. at some point a 2 wheel moment. I don't see any suspension movement during the whole video, doesn't mean there isn't but it can't me much. It's clearly a bumpy track which favors a softer setup. Those race cars with high downforce need strong springs so they don't bottom out but they will run it as soft as they can. If it was my car I wouldn't run it that stiff

This is not a Fiat 500, it is a Cinquecento. I know "cinquecento means five hundred in italian but there is already a Fiat 500, both old and new.

@@jimcanterak7349 There are actually 6 different 500 models since it was first launched. I'm not sure on the reason for the ambiguous naming in this particular instance as it's the only version of a 500 to have it, maybe to distinguish marketplace given the strange, box like looks of the Cinquecento or more likely just a quirky 90's thing. But still a Fiat 500 none the less.

Actually there are 3 types of 500 in Italy. One is the old, the first, another one is the boxy one in the video, and another one is the new one, all bulked a curve. (I mean as a third type all the new bulked ones together)

@@BOMBLATUR2 No you have the 500 Topolino 1936-55, then the common 500 from 1957-75, then the badged 'Cinquecento' 1991-98, then the new model 500 2007-present, then the 500L MPV 2012-present, then the 500X 2013, and finally the 500e 2013-present. So 7 different 500 models in total to date.

I get the impression, by the way it turns, that it has a solid, go kart rear axle. It must be very tiring to steer it when it wants to go straight. A differential might make it handle better. Less of that steering wheel bounce in the turns. Just a thought.

okay i see this is a shifter kart with a kawasaki engine in the back with a fiat 500 shell with a tube chassis put ontop of it. smart yet simple. also dang that suspension is so stiff it looks like it breaks necks on corners just from its bouncing.

Should’ve used a concours engine with a swapped zx14 head, shaft output but you get the rev range and power of the zx. Slap a turbo on it and you’ll get upwards of 300hp

I wonder if this car would be faster than a motorcycle with the same engine in it. Super cars are typically faster than super bikes around a track. But that's partially because they can fit a larger engine.

That thing looks like amazing fun man. Stop leaning your head in the turns like that. It’s messing with your vision in the corners, especially long ones and sharp ones. I really hope you don’t think I’m being a dick. I used to do it too and it kinda just hit me one day that I was doing it. It made a huge difference when I realized it too. Again, awesome build🤙🏾.
