good grief .... it looks like a mummy F x19 met a naughty lancia stratos one night in a dark alley .... and nine months later ,, although with those lines it may grow up to be a wide bodied DTM
Not having a go, but I think you've just confirmed I wouldn't want to hack up an x1/9 this much. Not that I think they are collectable, but I think I'd rather have a mild mod in a few weeks than this much work in a few years. But nice looking car in the end. I'd like to see it in anger.
I sure learned a lot from it , I also learned that sometimes when you have a dream, leave it alone buy a Porsche enjoy life , anyhow engine is getting built as we speak last year Macine shop gave my block to someone else and only after 4 months I found out , hopefully this year I’ll finish some stuff .
Cool I have my second X1/9 1980 Love the the car , plans on putting in a V6 and 5 speed front wheel drive set up along with K frame from parts from a Shelby Charger and a Plymouth Voager van. Also suspension parts and the Shelby mag wheels. My own tube frame and crash cage to hold it all together. Thanks for the inspiration and information
I appreciate all you work. what's the status of the project, we'd love to see the finished car on a racetrack or a street video to see an dhear the beauty of your work.
@@jamesjenkins7814 exactly, the Fiat engine was nothing particularly special as it was, and warming it up can be done but man its pricey. I always wanted to swap a VW watercooler into one, and now I really do.... 2.0T please!
@@jamesjenkins7814 it's very cool yes, and I'm sure what you say about the K20 is correct, but personally I think that putting a K20 in an X19 as opposed to a D2, makes no sense because the end result won't sound right. I wouldn't put a flat six in a Jag for that reason alone.
