so, it looks like it is easy. believe me, it is not. you have to really pay attention to detail!!!! once you have done that it is a peace of cake (almost). one has to see the video three to four times. oh yes, you need to know a bit of electrician work, to be able to connect the wires. it worked for me good. thanks for the video and the idea.
+Emily Allyce The setup usually comes as a kit with instructions.Installation may look challenging but it is fairly easy.The kit I bought cost £680 (UK) but you can get them cheaper.The kit should come with a power unit, which the fiber optic strands are connected/plugged in to.the unit itself is plugged into the mains.drill holes into the ceiling or dark material you wish to use, feed fiber optic strands through holes,leaving excess/slack that can be trimmed off (as in video).Use silicone (not glue) to hold strands in place,unless you want to use the "mushroom" buttons that may come included in the kit.Place your "starry" material (as in video),connect it up and pretty much voila.
god...I remember doing this on one work.... damn above 500 fiber lines each had like 3-4m long (each string)... it was hell... but the effect would be better if the black surface had a light reflective cover or paint... it wouldnt give the dull empty effect but it would give a shinny effect to it ^^ the same I was doing smaller (1fiber) and bigger (6-7fibers together) stars... so it gave the effect of some constalations and such ^^
