Fiberglass enclosure for Focal Utopia in a Honda Civic

Another project with my friend in a Honda Civic. A start of a big project.
In this video we make a speaker enclosure for Focal Utopia speakers in non standard places.
The next stage would be installation of a Butler Audio's Tube Driver Amplifier and Clarion DRZ9255.

Nice vid but 2 questions come to mind that were not addressed. How does the pod attach to the car or is it just pressure fit? And, how did you run the wires to the speakers. Thanks!!

Chris Anzelmo If I was making those and trying not to damage the car, I would try using 3M double sided foam tape on the glass and back of the box. As far as wires, maybe buy the flat home audio wire that is designed to run on your house walls, for surround sound. That way you could sneak it out the side seem of the dash.

I used 3M double sided mounting tape for a pod I built for my daughters car. It fit in a storage cubby in the back. Pressure fit always vibrates loose.

The liquid is fibreglass resin and the powder is microballoons; brand name carbosil also known as aerosil.

John Chad he was making sure the enclosure was completely sealed. He was doing so on the inside since the outer deminsions are already established bythecare interface when he later the woven Matt and if he added any materials to the outside to deal it the fit would be comprised.

Some people find dash speakers acceptable, other don't. Reflections are a concern and the windshield acts as a waveguide, depending on vehicle outcome could be good or bad. If they're using these crossed high, it must be aimed on axis.

Focal Utopia, you had my curiosity. Focal Utopia and Honda Civic in the same sentence, you now have my attention. LOL The end user is no audiophile. And you just encouraged his irrational behavior. Shame on you. Except, you were probably able to charge him like $500 for the enclosures so, I guess shame on him. Thumbs up for the LOLs!
