Step 1: Carefully measure and draw the outline of the initial hole Step 2: Use an excavator to dig said hole Step 3: Realize excavators aren’t exactly good at staying within their lines.

Gotta say, with labor/supply and building issues here in FL, it is unusual to have a fiberglass pool but I've noted a few people doing them now due to the time issues of regular pool builds. Usually they are all shot concrete due to the custom/complexity of them and design needs. But if a regular stock shape fiberglass company is good enough and works for you, it takes way less time. A family down the street put a fiberglass pool in and it took like 6 months if I recall from the time they broke ground to completion. Most of that time was the screen enclosure, inspection, pavers and re-sod of the yard. The actual pool install was less than one week after the hole to plumbing it in. Compare that to the 18 months they are usually running now on lead/build time in FL currently. I've been watching a neighbor across the street on a seemingly endless pool build that barely moves month to month. We looked at doing a pool 2yrs ago, but it is just ridiculous having your yard for 18 months now from start/finish torn up and lawn destroyed looking like a mess with no end in sight, and the money spent with nothing to show for it for ages. Most new home builders aren't even offering pools anymore because they can't control/promise any reasonable timing of pool/home completion with the pool builders and state of the business around here. Interesting for sure if it meets your needs an good alternative. Especially now since you have options of spa overflow and sun shelves, which usually were custom options you could only do with concrete/custom shot pools. Good alternative and likely way less expensive.
It's not that difficult. Especially when you do the electrical, plumbing, and gas. Piece of cake, walk in the park. Any homeowner can do one 1st try, no distratrous tens of thousands of dollars of mistakes!😆

I enjoyed the video. I wish mine went this smooth. I had 1 month of pelting rocks and digging in a cold rainy season(March). My long haired huge dogs jumping in the stagnant water daily. Then I took another month for the pool to come in. It was a nightmare
I once heard a Dad say that the two best days of owning a swimming pool are the day that it goes in and the day that it gets taken out! I guess the in between years are just a series of chores and expenses that you put up with for your kids’ sake 🤣
Beautiful pool ? It’s not a pool they just dug out hole n put a fiber glass. I have a pool n it’s way more better then this. We hired a pool contractor n also added a jacuzzi
I don’t understand the reason why they started filling up the pool without cleaning it up first or worse, without filling up the sides first before putting in the water. Did they not have the concern that the pool would get dirty from all the dirt, sand, and leaves around it even before it would have been used?
You must get the weight of the water in there before rain or groundwater comes a lifts the pool liner up and out of position. Also to resist the hydrostatic pressure from the sides from damaging the liner.
I found it hilariously ironic that you can see nary-a-leaf ....ANYWHERE... else on the site, other than IN. The. Frikken. Pool!?!🤣🤣🤣 That, imho, is on par with showing up to “excavate” with an excavator with N🚫 Diesel in it! 🤨🤦🏻♂️🙄🤣🙇🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
No gravel or weeper around the base of the pool? Oh man lol... When that hole fills with water its going to have nowhere to go and either create a hollow spot under the pool where someone will eventually end up putting their foot right through the fiberglass OR even worse it will lift your pool right up and crack it down the middle from the weight of the water inside. You'd be amazed at the power of water. Whenever digging more than 3 feet down if you're installing something in the ground it absolutely needs a weeper and sloped drainage.
can you please elaborate, we're building a pool at my grandma's and the team building it said we dont need any kind of drainage system around the pool as the water will evaporate. Im unexpected help would be appreciated.
@@7Frosty7 it won't "evaporate" that's just ridiculous. Ground water will fill the hole, from rain, spillage over the sides or any number of things. Hydrostatic pressure is real that water has 2 places to go either down or force the pool up. If it goes down like I said it will create a hollow spot from washing out the grave and or dirt. If it goes up it will lift the pool. I'll include a link of a pool lifted right up due to hydrostatic pressure. Installing a weeper around the perimiter of the pool and a vertical pipe down with a submersible 120v pump is not hard or complicated. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M9OLxVmzTtc.html
@@7Frosty7 here's another example of a pool built without a water removal system. They remove the pool and re install it with the correct system. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_WrT39tdJ5k.html

I have a few vids on my FB pg , i helped wth about 9 pools last summer ranges from 14x30 16x40 etc. A good solid 4 guys and its a pretty cool moment when we button it all up and ✔ another job off list.. Thamks for tue vid
Me too, for me that is part of the peacefulness and serenity. Luckily we were able to find a nice little house for like 200k in jersey and we finallllllly will have a nice sized yard to do stuff with and were kind of thinking of putting something this size or a little smaller in it just for those hot days to dip in the pool. There is a fire pit already there and horseshoe set up and we just want to make it like a little escape back there. We also have a lake 5 mins or less away so it's like we are so ready to do this because we've been living in a cramped apartment with a tiny tiny back yard.
@@barrettpickett5603 Yeah, it could totally be what state it's in with what type of soil is what you use. They don't show that on this video. There's always something behind the scenes homeowners wouldn't know about.
So many people on here trash talking about how it’s the worst pool, or its cheap or blah blah blah. Most of the negative commenters probably don’t even own a damn bathtub!
Holy cow , the people in here thinking this is finished in this 1st video!! LOL people really think it doesnt get concrete poured around the pool for people to walk and sit on? wow
We put one in about 10 years ago. Worst purchase ever. If you have clay for soil stay away. We had so much rain water it lifted the pool out of the ground and cracked it in half.
This is what YT was originally made for. If you would have dug that hole in my yard it would have created a pile of rocks literally larger than the hole they came out of.
How do they not own an auxiliary fuel tank in a truck? I also thought they put concrete in the bottom? Plenty of fiberglass repair companies out there for a reason
Wouldn't you put wet concrete at the bottom at the ends then sit it in so the weight makes a template in the concrete then you know its supported all round.
...how was it finished around the outside of the pool?...a fiberglass pool would be in my dreams...and on the bucket list!...need to buy some lottery tickets ...I've got big dreams...
I would be upset that the workmen did not sweep the dust and leaves in the pool before filling with water. Now all that sand/dust/leaves have to go through the brand new filter system. Geez, it's the small things that matter.
At 3:43, you can see the guy (whose red boxers keep showing throughout the video lol) remove the larger branches and leaf twigs out of the pool. I would think it's intentional that they left a little debris in there. They want to make sure the wiring, pumps, and filters are all in working order while they're still on-site finishing up and not a week later in case something is wrong. Looks like a gorgeous pool. Enjoy!!!
@@adammiller4389 I give you such credit for answering ppls question on here because some of them are just so dumb lol. Ppl thinking there will be no filtration, ppl thinking it's just going to be some sort of swimming stagnant pond lmao 🤣 I just can't...
I'm no expert, but wouldn't you put a reinforced concrete foundation for this pool? Wouldn't the weight of the water create problems as the pool is only on soil?
I bought a Latham fiberglass pool it’s a trilogy pool anyhow it was installed 2 years ago and has cracked both years I’ve had it! I’m not a fan of the fiberglass. If your considering this I would do a panel liner inground instead!
