I have read 3 of these. I can suggest a couple of more on these lines too. But it's only natural that we see conflict when we talk about Kashmir but somehow we have forgotten that Kashmiris also have families and relationship and all kinds of social lives in addition to this conflict. So there's this book that was also a TV serial on Doordarshan in 90s: Gul, Gulshan, Gulfam by Pran Kishore. I highly recommend it to understand the beauty and transition of Kashmir.

I think this is the only 'channel' who has been seamlessly talking about books and fighting for them. Every time they fill me with agape. Hope more videos will come! 😁

Well, I was thinking about making this comment that it has taken a pandemic for Books on Toast to put out a new video every Wednesday, as they endorse on their home page, but to be fair to them, a youtube channel on books needs some serious research and most importantly time to read these many books to be able to talk about them. And I'm extremely happy that you guys are punctual now as I have something to look up to every Wednesday :)

Its great that you have recommendations on books relating to issues like Kashmir, caste etc: . I had recently read “Munnu” really loved it. Will read the rest on the list. Keep up the great work !!

Absolutely love the BoTcasts. Since the beginning of this year I started incorporating books from different regions of the world (mostly places whose history I wanted to explore) into my reading routine. Could you discuss/share some of your favourite translations (or even books originally written in English) set in Asia. I had heard that 'Reading Tagore in English is like looking at embroidery from the wrong side '. Unfortunately this is how I feel on reading most translated literature, I can appreciate the story but have yet to find one that completed immerses me since a lot is lost in translation. Any book recommendations will be much appreciated 😊

Non fiction books on Kashmir as well please. It's difficult to guess which one of the lot is unbiased.

@Sohrab The Socialist It's easy to dismiss someone you idealogically disagree with.Harder to empathize with them. What happened to him was true and terrible.

@Sohrab The Socialist You want to attack Hindutva but are too cowardly to call out the fundamentalists on your side. Have the moral courage to attack the fanatical islamists and the horrible things they did in kashmir. You ask of Hindus what you are not capable of doing yourself. Admitting and calling out the fundamentalists.

@Sohrab The Socialist This is actually quite nice. Usually RU-vid conversations descend into more anger. You reply disarmed me :P Fascinating to learn about your name.I didn't realise it's Parsi heritage and mistakenly assumed you was Muslim. (A good reminder for me not to make blind assumptions) Have a good day :)
