I'm a beginner who just discovered this hobby. I got this tree about a month ago. The very first thing I did was over water. I did my best to dry the soil but ended up repotting in a better draining soil. I've been watering at least twice a day with a mister since the transplant. Been about 2 weeks and the tree appears to be thriving. Lost less than 10 leaves. Also soaked the roots in a diluted peroxide mix for about 30 minutes before I put the tree in it's new soil. Love this stuff

Thank you for this video! I have had a variegated one for a year now and repotted it to a bigger pot a few days ago, after which it's been very sad, leaves pointing downward. So I've been looking up videos and this is the best ficus benjamina video I've come across, not only for the ficus tree but just for general plant caring purposes as well.

I have had a ficus that I got about three years ago before I knew as much about plants. It’s loving life and I just need to pay more attention when I water it. Saying that, I was actually thinking about changing the pot this spring like you are with yours. The soil is old and needs switching up anyway, so may as well give it a new pot with some drainage

This was so helpful! Thank you. I bought a green Benjamina with a braided trunk a month ago and she's dropped more than half of her leaves. However, I see lots of new leaves starting. This is my first tree so I am determined to keep her alive. I am going to repot her and give her some organic liquid fertilizer. I hope she will get through the shock and bounce back.

Thanks! Just saved my ficus. I brought it home it dropped all the leaves. I kept it outside during summer and it grew a little bit. Then it came home and immediately dropped everything. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Mostly it’s a naked broom. But let’s try again. How about pruning?

Had a 10 ft luscious ficus 2 decades and weather predicted 37F...outside for rnd of April. Covered pot and trunk w blanket..BUT...a hard freeze of 20F. Leaves brown and latex sap out of pores.. Sprayed w Need oil. Plan to trim branches, hydrogen peroxide roots soak, change soul and clean pot. PRAY it survives.. Weathermen suck, wrong info cost me a tree pampered 20 years!!

hi! I underwatered my plant some months ago and it dropped a lot of its leaves. Now it's a bit leggy, is it a good idea to cut a bit those leggy leaveless stems? I loved your video it was so helpful!!!
