I remember "Sunrise, Sunset" being played at my wedding, while I danced with my beloved father (zt'l). That was 42 years ago. All that I am left with is memories and tears.

You described the journey well... with the minimum of words. May good memories overpower the source of your tears. (You should see the ganglion cyst on my left wrist 😬)

I was 10 years old when this came out. Also a Christian. It was Tevya who taught me how to pray ( Just talking to God - like He was really interested, like watching over me, And like a friend. I’m still a Christian, and I still pray that way. And Topol has always been my very favorite actor- ever❗️ 📻🙂

📺 I've heard of this title back in the 1970's, I remember when it was a play on Broadway. Never knew it was a film until I seen it recently in 2019 for the first time ever. My favorite scenes were: 1) the men finally allowed themselves to dance with women. 2) Tevye said thank you and goodbye to his horse. Any exodus is sad, well except the one of Moses in the Bible of course.

I was thinking, will I ever stop thinking that the depiction of the fiddler on the roof in the 1971 movie "the fiddler on the roof", will the acting role with no speach played by "tutte lemkow", will the image of the actor wearing the role's clothes ever stop seeming so beautiful to me, I could say that I am fascinated with the image of the actor in the role's clothes in the movie. The depiction of the fiddler is beautiful in image and symbol. Being that the role of the fiddler on the roof resembles tradition, I then thought, will I ever stop honoring and loving tradition? I would think not. There are many things you seem to stop loving, many things, those things, they grow old, or ware out, you lose interest , but the love for tradition has roots in your soul, roots connected to God, roots full through, when you really know you love something, it is also that you know you will always love it, that is true love, as long as you know it, and you know you will always love it as you know it now, it is true. and the love I have for the roots of the tradition of God is true. Tevye agreed to go against the tradition of the culture of his Village in Russia, but he strongly refused to go against the tradition of the good book, of God, and I share his thinking exactly

L'chaim! Here's to whatever comes! Even if our ever-evolving new world is locked in the ideological imbalance that is recurrently typified by complexity and perplexity. still there's really something to be joyful for! And that's basking in this all-out mind-broadening and heart-gladdening tragicomic epic saga of boundless, matchless stature / the adroitly-crafted, fairly-exalted 1971 motion picture adaptation of the long-standing, outstanding theater musical "Fiddler on the Roof" that will inextricably and impeccably give us something to think about seriously and something to drink about deliriously. Thus let's all sonically and frantically be filled with great honor and pride to jointly propose brimming red-carpet toast cheerily thawed with gleaming red-letter boast to this all time most fondly-lauded, charm-enshrouded "cinematically-and-historically quintessential" jewel of high distinction, unparalleled beauty, and drawing power which keeps on renewing unceasingly and endowing appeasingly the downcast spirits of the worldwide cineastes with its timely universal theme of clinging firm to the bright outlook and upright guts that are being well-enough lubed with the satisfyingly-glorifying of the Divine Power and the dashingly-establishing of the well-grounded typical family values and the well-rounded unity of purpose, tender feeling, and simple peace so as to boldly stand up to the twists and turns of the present times. Unshakably it has all the duly green-light deserving and fully bright-light preserving featured elements of pure allure and demure grandeur in captivating and elevating the true-blue culturally-diverse classic musical movie buffs or even the mind-enriching diversion seeking millennials - with such Mr Norman Jewison's sharply introspective-and-illustrative directing style with his deep visual scope, near perfection, intrinsic human touch, upscale creative control, and fussily scene-managing catalyst; Mr Jerry Bock / Mr Sheldon Harnick's ever living-and-relieving songs of good standing that are fervidly and vividly drawn up with moving impact, unfading shining merit, perfect match to each and every euphoric or dysphoric musical scene, and well-disposed undertone set in good faith; the rather stylistic, naturalistic clout of Mr Joseph Stein-authored libretto that lightens up graciously one's chilliest heart of stone with its un-perishing, humanising message and that enlightens consciously one's rather silliest mind-set with its flourishing, energising food for thought. His work is based on Mr Sholem Aleichem's above-board morale-boosting, a sort of wake-up-call alerting Yiddish folk tale of an indigent village milkman who holds on solidly to his spirited piety, his inner strength, his sober standpoint, his sense of fun and repartee, and his principled pride in the face of turbulent and virulent times of strife, prejudice, and coercion. As the Good Book says "Whilst times are drastically changing, we must all live and believe in hope, love, and harmony so as not to suffer in silence but to have un-bitter, better world." Right? Of course Right.: Mr Oswald Morris' uniquely applied toned-down color and varied lighting-shifting methods in cinematizing the beauty and cruciality of every segment setting and in dramatizing the characters' sentiments and torments in an aptly woe-impinging effect; Mr Tom Abbott / Mr Sammy Bayes' unweariedly collaborated-and-accommodated silver screen rendering of Mr Jerome Robbins' finely-and-neatly formulated step-designs - one in particular the handily and gaudily enacted showstopping sequence of "The Bottle Dance" that is amazingly-and-dazzlingly sparked by the accuracy and intricacy with the high-end buoyancy in a non-verbal proverbial showpiece; the truly decently and lucently delivered real-deal role-playings of all the pertinently-tapped top-actors in their most dignified-and-magnified character-absoptions most notably Mr Topol's power and charm that deeply flesh out the role with high spirits, potent luster, gagline in perfect timing, bonafide un-lame horse sense, and all-out ironclad commitment- He's a true-certified gifted thespian. True? Of course, true. And on top of that precursive meritorious underpinning for being highly-acclaimed worldwide as a timeless gem, its pulling power can be likewise attributed to its dapperly-and-properly arranged sequences; its simply affectively-and-effectively rolled out visual looks that are fitly chimed with intended color palette, pastoral texture, "plausibly-stated" time period, and the aesthetics-opted scene-dressing add-ons; Mr Tutte Lemkov's evenly-mimed and heavenly-rimed fiddling of Mr Isaac Stern's musical-piece theme; and the best-suited, cogently-intuited scoring / audio-mixing that calculatedly-and-modulatedly boost the flows and blows of the complete segments on the mark. Nothing can give the oldie-film musical enthusiasts more legitimate pleasure than to intimately treasure this Oscar-winning and eye-opening "miraculously-executed" gem of epic proportions through nurturing its inherently-historic merits and culturing its apparently-plethoric impacts as to its form and content. It's a life-affirming wonder of wonders that will never-ending deliver once-in-a-lifetime good news that is most-assuredly seasoned with special reasons for all to rejoice. Mazel tov!!!
