Currently, Fidelity only offers Automatic Investing for eligible mutual funds that you already own. For stocks and ETFs, you must manually place these trades online or via our mobile app. Keep in mind, even if the trade is placed manually, you will still be averaging your cost basis for the position. We know this feature has generated a good amount of interest for stocks and ETFs, and I have forwarded your question as additional feedback to the appropriate team. As a result to customer feedback, we have recently included additional frequency selections for automatic mutual fund investments and also recurring transfers. We offer the Automatic Investment feature to automate the deposit of funds into your Fidelity, along with the ability to make additional purchases into eligible mutual funds you already own in your Fidelity accounts, including our nonretirement accounts, IRAs, and 529 plan accounts. We do not have automatic investing for equities, such as stocks or Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) at this time. This has been a highly requested addition to our platform, and we'll pass your feedback to the appropriate teams.
