I have just started in the world of field notes. My journals are usually 5 by 8 hardback books with sketches, to do lists, gratitude lists and such. I am excited to start a commonplace book and a daily musings/reflections book (Still creating my plans) Love the small convenient carrying size of a field book and am placing getting field books on my 'wishlist/get list'
Yeah, it’s very tricky when you try to gather your thoughts. I have a sketchbook. I have a notebook and I have a quick notebook as depicted on this video. Think of it as a computer, tablet, and phone. When I’m at work, I have my notebook and I have my quick Capture book. When I’m home, I have a quick capture and my sketchbook.
I had the sub for a few years, but realized I had too many hobbies and collecting notebooks I wasn't using at the pace they arrived was probably excessive. Dig the box and your process. I'm currently restoring my pocket note system and this format is a key part of it.
It’s funny you say that. The moment I decided to swap field notes and try something new, they introduced the archival box and I was like take my money at this point.
New subscriber here. Love the content and thank you for an opportunity to win a pack of these. I have been using generic ones from Hobby Lobby but the paper is made more for sketching and unless I use a ball point pen the ink will fade. Some have pages of my mileage at work, movies I wanna watch, books I want to read or quotes I want to write out.
the marketing of the brand works. people buy the brand at this point. I'm glad we don't have them in my country, I would probably buy them too cuz they can be pretty, and consumerism is a disease
I agree. They're well made, and very well marketed, although the paper is not the best for fountain pens. They're even more expensive when you try to get them on the other side of the Atlantic where I'm based. But yes, props to their marketing team, if they can sustain selling them at that price. The Moleskine Cahiers is an altnernative in the same format, although it's also a bit pricey. Better for fountain pens though
