Oh wow I've wanted to visit South Dakota ever since dances with wolves came out!! I'm a geek at 63!! You're so talented!! I think I maybe could draw trees and acorns. Maybe. Music you chose is gorgeous!!

I loved seeing your sketches, Marty; your style is consistently engaging. You really could publish your sketchbooks. I've enjoyed your hangouts with Steve as well, but today is the first time that I've had a chance to really dig into your channel and find some fascinating videos about materials such as acrylic gouache and casein. It would be very helpful to me and perhaps other viewers if you did a short paint summary video explaining the best uses of each kind of paint, e.g., when it would be better to use acrylic gouache as opposed to plain acrylic paint, You have already done some of this explaining in your individual videos, but I'm picturing a broader perspective wherein you compare the best uses of say acrylic gouache not only to regular gouache but to all other mediums, including acrylic paint. I hope I'm being clear. I'm not thinking of a massive, minutely detailed, all-encompassing video, btw.....just a bit about when gouache would be the obvious first choice for you. rather than watercolor, etc. Thanks for all of the videos you've done so far, Marty. I'm sure that I will enjoy them as much as the ones I've seen tonight, I have that great feeling of a well-stocked larder :=)

Thank you so much for presenting your work. I truly enjoyed it. I can not say that i can do the same. I just learn how to draw and at the this stage my art work is very cartoony. But i continue to practice my structures and drawing from references. Some how drawing from real life intimidates me, Do you ever get that feeling when you see a subject in real life that you might mess up the proportions?

I love this nature journal. My environmental Science teacher would have also. He encouraged me to do my journal much like this but I lacked the confidence and didn't think it would live up to his expectations. I started one several years ago but recently found out that he passed several years ago. Somehow I don't have the drive to pick it up for myself. I guess it was always to show him. It is amazing how a fantastic inspirational teacher can stay with one for years. I hope you can be that inspiration for another someone.XOX
