@thoricdavid8174 that's a REALLY hard question and I would guess the average user may never even notice a difference but the potential stain resistance and edge holding along with amazing toughness would make Magnacut a hard choice to pass up!

So that's a loaded question so I'll try to answer it with as much context as I can. So firstly I'll answer the question in the context of wanting a relatively hard use belt knife. When it comes to the choice of 3v or cruwear that have an equal, or even say an ideal heat treat, they are close enough in performance that I wouldn't choose one over the other. A big thing that would determine which I would choose at this price is how they are made, the brkt being hand made with a full convex and the Reiff being machine made with the slight hollow. If I want a survive knife that might be beat to hell the reiff is going to have a .034" +- .001" edge- And the BRKT being hand ground a full convexed might have a .015 edge or a .035 edge. There has been in my experience a much larger variation in grind thickness with barkies than you would get with Reiff. That doesn't mean you'll get a bad knife, but it does mean that the knife that I get and the knife you get could be ideally suited for much different tasks, and the chance of having a defect is much higher. The brkt might be the better choice for a specific person and for his specific brkt but I wouldn't say any brkt is overall a "better choice" based on quality itself- just different.
