Seems like if you get like-minded people to help other like-minded people in a project it's got a greater chance of success. Really great to see the refrigeration engineer who is also a deer stalker helping to put in a new larder.

A thought Geoff might want to consider. The pair of parallel tyre tracks leading directly to his hide is the most unnatural thing to see in nature from above. Not questioning, just posing a thought.

Honestly I wouldn't care if they banned Fox Hunting with dogs but if its the first step in banning other (and in my opinion significantly more valid) forms of hunting then I suppose I would be against the ban.

@@strickostricko Oh I know it's officially banned but the trail hunts do sometimes end up with fox killings. Turns out if you train dogs to hunt fox's scents they might just find a real one instead of the trail laid out the night before. I have no issue with a farmer shooting a fox to protect his animals. Or even a hunter tracking and killing a fox. But setting a pack of dogs on them just isn't very sporting. Trail hunting in itself is fine since they are chasing a fake trail but maybe they should use something other than fox scent.

Interested in the new game processing plant. I'm not sure I really see what the difference is between them and all the other game dealers in the country? I hope it works and I wish them well, but what are they going to do when they have every deer stalker in the parish queing up with pick up trucks full of venison to sell? Will they take it all? Will they still pay a "good price"? Or like all the others, will the price plummet when there's more on offer than they can deal with?

How is it profitable for the hunter anyway? If you don't own the land you are hunting on then it's pretty expensive to go deer stalking isn't it?

@h.walker1332 Depends on the agreement you have with the landowner. If there is extreme crop/woodland damage then the owner may actually pay the stalker (e.g. Forestry Commission). If it's just recreational stalking and you have to buy the rights then yes, having someone you can sell the carcass to will help offset that.
