"But you would have the civility not to k*ll civilians?" That was extremely concerning to hear. What hope is there for peace if people think hurting civilians is a difficult reaction to resist.
I understand your repulsion. There is an amount that shocks and with indiscriminate killing its made people question the narrative. Incredibly dishonest interviewers. They are hiding behind nonsensical magical questions which can be summed up like this "what if you magically became the leader of isr and had the choice to decide their next move?" This question is leading and dishonest because it purposefully blows past all of the variables which led to oct 7 and then puts the burden on the person being asked this magical imaginary hypothetical question. If I was asked this I would answer simply and directly. Cut off all funding to isr. Cut off all weaponry. Bring the entire weight of international law upon isr leadership and bring them up on war crimes. Then make isr fund the full rehabilitation of all areas destroyed. Fully fund modern education and fully fund access to nutrionally dense food and work opportunities. It does not matter what toll it takes on isr economy. They earned this. They should he held accountable for creating the monster which retaliated against them on Oct 7 after generations of brutal occupation and inhumane treatment. Completely dishonest interviewers who very clearly picked a clever question in order to make the other person seem as if they are dodging the question when in reality there is nothing to discuss. Isr must be held accountable on a world stage. An example must be made
In my opinion, the way to answer his first question is by explaining the issue with the framing of the question, answering the hypothetical and then posing the same exact question to the interviewing by saying "What should the Palestinians do given their circumstance?"

It didn't start on Oct 7th, 2023. It started in 1914 when the Ottoman empire decided to join with the Austro-Hungarian empire and Germany in WW1. They lost, the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian empires were dismantled and after a period of occupation were separated into independent states. It was agreed at the UN following WW2 that the Jews who living there were to get an independent state. Britain, who had the Mandate over the region following WW1 put this plan in place as was their right as victors. Hungary lost 70% of their territory following WW1, they haven't spent the last 100 years terrorizing their neighbors in a struggle to get their ancestral lands back. It's understood, to the victor go the spoils. Accept defeat, move on and make the best of it.

Not as much as some other conflicts but there are other terrible things happening in other places that are far more obscure in media by far than even sudan
Well, i can explain it to you. Firstly, South Sudan’s conflict is basically a civil war between the former infantry military division that has gone rogue, against the present government. Basically it’s the guys who were once part of the government system, so it’s not one ethnic group killing another, it’s politicians fighting for total control over the country. Secondly, Gaza has far more attention because IDF has already killed 203 aid workers, which is more than killed in South Sudan and Ukraine combined, and it does bring a lot of attention of the international community. Thirdly, people have more attention to conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, because a large portion of the money that is funding these wars, comes from all over the world, and people are interested on why their money goes to fund Israel, or Ukraine. And fourth reason is the level of destruction. Ukraine and Gaza are getting heavily bombed unlike Sudan, and international health organisations are stating that 80% of Gazas infrastructure and 93% of Mariupols infrastructure are destroyed and turned into rubble. That’s why unfortunately not too many people talk about Sudan.
@@mansd5131gross oversimplification and ahistorical … there was literally the Darfur genocide where RSF Arab militias slaughtered 200k of the indigenous black populations from 2003-2005 … AND they restarted the ethnic cleansing AGAIN in Nov 2023.

Tigray: 600,000 people literary wiped out between Nov 2020 - Nov 2022. Ongoing humanitarian disaster. Yemen civil war: more than 400,000 starved / murdered, children used as soldiers / shields. Jerusalem was Founded by the Canaanites around 1800 B.C., captured by David (P.b.u.h) eight centuries later, and destroyed by the Babylonians in 587 B.C., Jerusalem was then successively occupied by the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans (both pagan and Christian), the Arabs and the Turks. It is unique among the cities of the world because of its association with the three monotheistic religions, which have their Holy Places within its precincts. As a result, it is of profound religious and spiritual significance to 2.6 billion Christians, 1.8 billion Muslims, and 15.7 million Jews. All three ruled the city at one time or another: the Jews for almost five centuries in biblical times, the Christians for over four hundred years in the fourth to the seventh and the twelfth centuries, and the Muslims (Arabs and Turks) for twelve centuries from 638 until 1917 continuously, except the period when the city was the capital of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. @@xokelis0015bringing in the palestinian authority to replace them. like they shouldve done years ago. even inciting a palestinian civil war would be more righteous than what Israel has done. of course now we know that it was the explicitly strategy of netanyahu and his likud goons to strengthen hamas to keep palestinians divided.
Bassem double speaking too much, he's playing the socratic game of criticising without offering solution. It's a fine tactic if you're challenging someone's beliefs, but it is next to useless for an actual productive debate of what SHOULD be done now that the reality has happened.
Just on one point that people are fixating on: To imply that "we had no choice but to commit genocide" is very Nazi-esque. "Not this" means not committing genocide, not dropping 22,000 dumb bombs on one of the most densely populated areas, not actively starving, besieging, and depriving people of water and medicine. Not this means not massacring starving people clamoring for food. I could go on. The comments on this video are deplorable. No people would accept Gaza as their situation if they were born into it, routinely massacred with no end in sight towards achieving basic human rights, freedom and dignity. Any people, race, community would resist.
...pffff this man has ni credibility. Once je was in thé hand of Israël ,what choice hé had? Die or work for Israël....you makes me laugh, youre completely Lost in thé lie of your story telling.....lie and lie
@@zubairhussain888 when have they ever been "rutinely massacred"? No one has ever massacred anyone i Gaza. They gave been self governing since 2005 until they decided to start a war.
@@Ahmad_Gharbawy Bruh. All states exist because of brute force. Israel won all war against their enemies. They have the right to their state until they're defeated.
Awesome, an Egyptian holding forth on the Israel/Palestine conflict - it’s going to be lucid and objective, for sure 😂. Interestingly, top Nazi propagandist, Johann von Leers, ended up in Egypt (along with about 2000 other Nazis), where he converted to Islam and changed his name to Omar Amin. He ran president Nasser’s propaganda unit, pumping out modified Nazi propaganda until (I think) the early or mid sixties, when he died. When it came to propaganda, these guys knew their trade, and Nazi ideology, especially antisemitism and anti Israel propaganda seeped into Egyptian culture, for years. So - Egypt: beloved retirement zone for Nazis, and drenched in Nazi propaganda, some of which we will hear emerging from Bassems mouth, I’m sure…
The fact that he's Egyptian, doesn't automatically make him related to Nasser and Johann von Freaking Leers. Just like the fact that your name is Stephen, does not automatically make you related to Stepan Bandera.
Egypt is a very antisemitic country. They are the #1 publishers and distributors of antisemitic literature. It's no surprise that he can't see his own bigotry in this discussion.
I'm at the very beginning of this video and it is soooo hard to watch because of how defensive and aggressive Bassem is. Funny how lots of arabs are like this. Reminds me of some family members of mine (we're arab too).
yeah exactly! jews started machine gunning Palestinians in the 1940s. jews stole the land 100% they dont deserve it, they murdered to get it. so no matter what any israeli does is 100% wrong.
When was the clock started? When western governments gave a land that was never theirs to a european population and displaced the Palestinians. If they gave your country ( Im assuming your either british or american) you wouldn't be defending Israel.
what's the full historical argument? they were there 3000 years ago? then got kicked out and spread all over? that the palestinians who were there had the sephardic jews who stayed and the jews who escaped the holocaust were almost all akhenazi khazars who didn't belong and then got handed half of a land they never knew about? what's the historical context? please tell us?
Exactly, and they always say "it didn't start on October 7th " as if it's a good argument for them when in reality they are the ones who have been shooting rockets on a daily basis
Askelon was built on a burnt down Palestinian village that was burned in 1948 it is actually Arab and Muslim land Israel burned Palestinian villages and built Israeli towns on them
@@dudi2200 by the Zionists who came from Europe and they took land from the natives the Palestinians didn’t go to Europe the Zionists came to Palestine
Konstantin asks questions but when he doesn't like the answer he tells Bassem to "speak to me, debate MY opinions" but K's opinions are exactly the same talking points (opinions) of one side.
@@keto0303no the OP is 100% correct. Go to any other interview that Bassem has done and you’ll see those same talking points. It seems like you don’t get it
@@jadwahab4474 Yes, exactly. He makes the same talking points everywhere. You prove my point and you dont even realise it. Konstantin wants him to engage with the thought experiments that he is giving him in this conversation, but instead he argues with other people that are not in the room. Thats not a way to have a conversation. OP is wrong, because he thinks this is some kind of dogde by Konstantin, its not. Bassem just doesnt engage with Konstantins thoughts directly.
It is hard to listen to Youseff. I don't want to seem rude, but it is like arguing with a child. He cannot see any perspective that is outside of his own and his thinking is so black and white, jumping to extremes to prove points, not really engaging in nuance and the reality of the situation.
It absolutely blows my mind that this guy is so prominent, and gets to sit down with so many prominent people, because he is absolutely captured by ideology, and unwilling to entertain any viewpoint other than his own, even just as an intellectual theoretical exercise.
Well tried guys but this guy is not interesting in finding solutions. He is a professional victim and does not have any conversational skills whatsoever. Kudos to you guys for trying though.
@@gadgettv4472 I am not convinced that he is motivated to find solutions. He plays the victim card too many times and like I said, he doesn’t have any conversational skills. How is one supposed to come up with a solution if one cannot carry a decent conversation let alone a professional argument or debate? I’m not sure where you got the “he should stop talking about it??” part from though. He should study argumentation theory and debate.
@@gadgettv4472 Yes. It's his fault that tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians have been murdered by the Israeli government. If he had come up with A SOLUTION and given it to the Israeli government, they would never have had to murder tens of thousands of innocent civilians in relaliation for Hamas murdering one thousand. And the Israeli government HAD to murder all those civilians in order to SAVE LIVES! It's all Bassem's fault for not being logical and providing a solution.
@@gadgettv4472 The other terrible thing about Bassem is that he he doesn't seem to appreciate the chief interrogator's genuine passive aggressive attempts to educate us all about why it is such a difficult thing for the civilised West NOT to murder tens of thousands of black or brown Bassem-like civilians every so often in the name of freedom and saving lives. It's all so complicated.
He doesn't know the history of the land apparently. As both Israeli and Palestinians come from the same land according to scholars and evidence. Romans, Assyrians & everyone else kept kicking out the Jewish people from their home land, and if you were to look into the DNA you'd find evidence they came from the same area. Jerusalem is entirely their own land as per the historical evidence found. This war has been going on way longer than 50 years ( 1850 burning of a Jewish community by a Muslim uprising) as the Muslim population considers the Jews inferior to them according to scholars both ex Muslims and what not. There are Muslim leaders praising those who have been killed in the name of Allah and I watch a Muslim man weeping because he never got the chance to die for the cause or a woman who said that all women of Palestine wish to die in the name of the cause. To see the Jewish people end. Read the Quran, Hadith and debate some Muslims on the religion of Islam. Guys saying that having a child bride is fine & now it's a law in Iraq that allows it.
For the guys in Gaza, they need to stop throwing missiles at Israel. They need to make a stable country and constantly ask to have access to an open border. With trust, Israel will eventually give that to them.
Demand a better government than Hamas, one that spends the billions in global aide it gets yearly on infrastructure and education rather than weapons and private jets for the leadership.. one that doesn't use their own civilians as human shields.. that would be a good start..
@@RobPires His questions are an insult. Never heard of this Krisin guy but he’s trying hard to be the British Lex Friedman, another zionist funded hasbara boy.

The first time I saw Bassem on piers… I thought he was awesome. But now I feel it’s just the same story and no new insite… ok we get it-Isreal has been murdering Palestinens…tell us future solutions. Tell us where Isreal and Palestine has gone wrong. If he doesn’t believe in harming other human beings and agrees it is wrong where does it leave the Palestinians that go killings and bombing Israelis
Konstantin Kisin was bewildered because he came into the interview with preconceived notions that Palestinians are livestock and their lives are worth less than other human lives.
