Beautiful plain and great flying. I would tell my buddies on a windy day let's go flying with RC planes like that and practice vertical endings, many of them were afraid to do that but I loved it, I think it makes for a better pilot. Today is January 18th 2022. I just subscribed to your Channel.
Well done and thanks for the video! Our family knew Nestor Slepcev who once produced 75% kits of these here in Australia. He would regularly demonstrate short landings and once at a local farm fly-in I was at, he took off, did a circuit of a dam - around the size of a public swimming pool - before landing backwards in a field! On his property, he would fly between his house and his workshop, 250m away! Why walk?? 😀 Great plane and he was an excellent, if not slightly crazy pilot! Cheers, David
Gret save! Before the advent of home recording and cell phone cameras (darn it!) I had a similar experience. While a student was flying his 3-channel trainer a squal line appeared and with it a steady 25-mph cross wind. He handed the controls to me! I experimented with it headed into the wind and found I could just “park” it over the ground. With this steady state I realized I could just reduce power and lose altitude. As I got closer to the ground I increased power, because the wind gradient causes wind to decrease because of ground drag. Anyway, It came down to a perfect zero ground speed landing!
thank you very much for the wonderful presentation of our stork, which hatched from its egg in kassel in 1936. it is available in a wide variety of variants and also in original ones. here in kassel there is a community that cares for the little bird. among other things, a certified pilot who restores the original stork from 1943 and continues to fly it. get in touch with me, I will organize the contact.
Also bitte, NICHT "Krieg" und aerodynamische Erfindungen zwangsläufig framen! Danke!
Beautiful Storch. Would look loads better with the addition of a scale pilot figure though! I've actually seen a Storch ( well a Criquet with a radial) landing at strathallen on a windy day, and although it wasn't as vertical as this, it was very impressive. Came to a stop in like zero feet!
