Can’t wait to see the review on these, almost pulled the trigger on some sooooo many times for my FST, i suspect the’ll be wayyyyyyy better than stock suspension so looking forward to seeing and hearing about it soon ❤🙌🙌 Great vid fella and great job.
Cheers. Soooooo much better than standard and the same with the lowered springs. I might film a short initial review with how they are as a daily soon because the improvement is massive. Absolutely loving them.
Would you recommend this? I have the same car on mountune m310 and mountune springs. I like them and have been on 7 years but the rears are corroded. After looking at other springs I feel the only ones to replace are mountune again as they are the lowest ones without being too low / harsh and I have never had any issue with scraping arches etc I was thinking mountune springs again and at somepoint the b8 shocks to go with but on some images they seem to sit higher (maybe from the increased strength) After lots of research I'm thinking to change to these. As they are Bilstein and adjustable so should be able to be as low if not lower than mountune springs and maybe a better ride? As somebody who has done this EXACT change in setup what is your thoughts? Is it worth it? Or would you still be more than happy on the mountune springs paired with the standard damper
It's been a life changer tbh. Aussie roads are pretty terrible at the best of times going to the Bilstein setup has improved it massively. I'd hate to have to go back to the stock shocks and springs or stock shocks and aftermarket springs. They suit me a hell of a lot better.
@fordyford thank you for your quick response how do you find the handling also? Sounds like they will be comfortable enough on the bumpy roads /pot holes and from what your saying possibly more comfort than standard? But how do they handle in the bends? Do they feel firmer than just the mountune springs?
@@matt12345b the rear feels more firm for sure but all in all much more comfortable. As for performance, I haven't had them on track but as the rear is more firm, I expect the car to behave a little different. It's been great as a daily.
Good question. The rears you definitely need to reuse your original top mounts but I think looking at the kit online the front come with top hats. As I bought them 2nd hand the seller kindly passed them on to me ready to go with all parts needed for me to install.
Great. The feel good. The rear springs feel more firm but comfort wise they are amazing compared to stock and stock with lowered springs. Yet to track them.
So how are they mate? I’m debating BC coilovers or these. I’m on Eibach redlines and although more comfortable than standard I still find the car really bad on the crap roads we have on the UK, deffo doesn’t inspire confidence in the twisties. Are these more comfortable but also better handling than standard shocks?
I haven't had them on track but for a daily they are awesome. A lot more comfortable than standard. The rears seem a bit stiffer than stock but I am finding it much more comfortable to drive daily.
@@fordyford yeah sorry should have specified road use primarily! Do they handle better? Sharper turn in and better feeling when the car is loaded up? How are they with dealing with imperfections in the road?
@RiperSnifle yeah they are good. I have a rear sway bar and sometimes i get a little lift off oversteer if i get caught out at a roundabout thats a sharper turn than expected for example but could be tyre pressures or anything. Basically common when u stiffen up the rears
I have a US fiesta SE 1.6 ti-vct 5 door hatch with the 22mm front sway bar and am going with the bilstein b14's and want the dna rear adjustable torsion bar. will i also need the rear sway bar? I am hoping the adj torsion bar will be enough to sort out the rear.
I honestly don't know. I do know that having already installed the whiteline rear sway bar and then the mishimoto rear trunk brace, there was no notable different adding the trunk brace.
@@fordyford also it seems this kit is missing necessary bits that if you didn't want to re-use or didn't have, would need purchasing. I think I saw a list somewhere but I can't find the thread anywhere. so far i think it's rear top mounts and the bolts you were talking about, but there's a bit more as well. I think everyone should know going into this that these things aren't included, but you don't see these warnings on the listings that I know of.
@ravenzbot agreed people should always do proper research before buying. I spoke to the person selling as these were second hand and we discussed what was needed before I bought them.
Love 'em. The ride is far better than OEM. Less busy and bumpy but all the road feel. Performance is better too. I feel like the rear spring rate is notably firmer than OEM and the Mountune Springs. Wish I did it sooner.
Ah mate only now seeing this, thanks for your reply mate I’m seriously considering pulling the trigger on these. Your feedback is really appreciated my mate thanks buddy 🙏🏼
I rate these more comfortable than stock. The rear you can tell is a little stiffer spring rate but the dampers are much better than standard. Perfect performance upgrade for a daily drive in my opinion.
