My personal fave 11 with explanation: 1 GK - Buffon - God-tier goalkeeper & he is very loyal to his team mates and club. A leader, well respected and with a strong voice in the dressing room. 2 LB - Maldini - I will have total freedom choosing attacking players, so I won't mind at all forsaking Roberto Carlos for a LB that is more focused in his defensive duties. Maldini is imo alongside Roberto Carlos the best LB of modern football. 3 CB - Cannavaro - I swear I am not partial to Italy. I don't think this requires any explanation though. 4 CB - Iván Córdoba - Centre backs are best if they can work in pairs, so I looked out for the best CB that played alongside Cannavaro and thought that he was a pretty good option. 5 RB - Cafu - Growing up, I always wanted my team to pen a RB that was based on Cafu: fast, never waning and solid. Could have given this to Thuram, but I like Cafu best. 6 DM - Makélélé - I first heard of him in 98, when I was just a kid and he had just moved to Spain (I did not follow French football at all, except for their national team who had just won World Cup at home in 98). I followed his career, and I could not help but notice how important he was in his defensive duties in Real Madrid, that was star studded with attacking players. His move to Chelsea marked a decline in RM's football and a newfound victorious cycle in Chelsea. 7 CM - Laudrup - My personal favorite player of ALL TIME: class, vision, skill, presence, brilliance, excellent passing abilities and elegance. I could pick Bendtner for striker, he would still score. 8 CM - Pirlo - Pirlo is the owner of whatever midfield he plays in. He is getting old by now, and I can't help but wonder how many seasons more he will last. His pace is not what it once was, so how can he keep up? If you watch his games from 10 years ago and now, it feels like he is much more relevant now than he was before, probably because he honed his vision and game intelligence as his physics were waning. His positioning and passing are perfect, and I don't know another regista as good as he is (Xabi Alonso is good, but not nearly as good). 9 LW - Figo - Another player who swapped Barcelona for Real Madrid and seemed to have made an excellent decision. He was fast and his dribbling skills were unusual for someone who was not Brazilian, and his passes were a whole more accurate than that of the wingers of nowadays. In an interview he mentioned that he liked scoring, but to him the biggest pleasure in football was to assist a team-mate. How can I not want a winger like this in my team? 10 - RW - Cristiano Ronaldo - He is one of the best of all time and a worthy pick in his own right. There are other players who were very good, although I consider Ronaldo's work rate to be otherworldly. The real reason I pick Ronaldo is because that Portugal's best performances in international competitions happened during a tenure that had Ronaldo in one flank and Figo in the other. Those were exciting times, when Portugal was a hot team and exciting to watch. 11 - ST - Ronaldo - Like, seriously, who else is there ... There are a host of other players that I appreciate immensely but because of my favorite tactics cannot fit into my team. So I make place for honorable mentions: Zidane (best touch in football), Recoba (great technique, passing and long range shot), Messi (you can't take the ball from him), Nedved, Klose, Kahn, etc etc etc

Why was Hazard a fan of France when he's from Belgium?

I'm surprised he included 3 Arsenal invincibles & a majority of French players in that line-up. Good choice.

EA PLZ make Ali Daei a legend card. If you don't know who he his then search him up. He has the most international goals ever. He played for Bayern, Hertha and Perspolis. He has an average goal rate of 0.72 per match! Like so EA can see.
