The reason Harry didn't go Mattieu is because messi needed a perfect link to get decent chemistry. If he had aguero, he could've put Mattieu cause he would've had one orange link and one strong link

My brain hurts from reading the comment section. This is the reason why he couldn't use Mathieu and chose Mascherano instead. If two players Club matches, but their Nation does not they receive a green link, which negates 'ONE' Red link. But, if two players Club and Nation match they will still receive a green link (as EA doesn't have a separate colour for a perfect link), but it's twice as good as a normal green link and it negates 'TWO' red links. What I'm trying to say is that Messi has 'TWO' red links and Mascherano and Messi are both from Argentina and play for Barcelona which then makes a perfect link and negates 'TWO' red links, but Mathieu has a different Nation from Messi and would only give him a strong link (Which is still green, but still worse) which negates 'ONE' red link. Choosing Mathieu would give Messi 7 chem instead of the 10 he would have gotten from Mascherano and being at 7 chem is against the rules. I know the comments are 2 years old, but it still annoys me.

Originally he only needed a strong link from the cb because Aguero gave him a weak link, but when he got Mignolet instead he needed a perfekt link from the cb.
