You're all disliking this for the wrong reasons Everyone's saying "same as every year", which it's not. It's actually a new gamemode. What you should be disliking is the fact that you HAVE to be "Alex Hunter" and you HAVE to be in the Premier League

I am disappointed. I don't want to play as Alex Hunter. I want to play as whoever I want. This game mode would be 10x better if they let you create your own character and play trough all of it, effectively replacing career mode.

replacing career mode? idk what you mean by that cause not everybody plays fifa for ultimate team. i play fifa for career modes. and trying to be 2k is diffcult for fifa i believe since the world is much bigger basketball is just in america where soccer is all over the world. unless like this one they only let you play in the league you pick? idk how that would work but the world of soccer is too big to just play a story for your created player "yet" im sure fifa 18 or 19 they will add that option.

(I eliminated the comment by accident) I said that if the story mode was made correctly, it could have replaced career mode. I love carer mode, but I feel that it lacks immersion and a realistic touch.

The problem with making it whoever you want is that the story becomes hard to make. 2k had this problem, the character had to be called Freq, his family was black even if you chose your character as white and the story was just too open and forced on a character that it didn't need to be. At least he you know you are getting a specific story for Alex Hunter that will be properly designed the whole way through the game.

instead of this story mode they should've just added more features to your player career mode. more customization choosing where to live what to do on off days the Lil things that make you feel like its actually your career. Having a predetermined story on a sports game just seems pointless to me

Completely agree. Why not sort out the career modes they have instead of creating new gimmicks. Manager/Player career modes need more depth and if they added more to that it would have been great instead of creating this scripted stuff.

I'm struggling to imagine anyone having the thought process of: "what small feature shall we put into this year's game so that we have something to advertise? What do sports games really need? I know, a story mode!" Seriously what is the point in this? Having said that, with changes to career mode, EA might actually be bothered to change the fixed year of birth for your player so that you actually start as a 17-18 year old, rather than just keeping the year the same which they actually did for three years!

I can tell you the story now. Hunter is spotted from nowhere, gets signed up and finds a best friend. Things start well, then he's shipped out on loan, as well as some point falling out with his best friend. Out on load he does well, comes back, gets into the first team and rises up to stardom either with his friend, or his friend goes to another club and becomes a rival. We all end up feeling nothing towards the main character Hunter, we go back to Ultimate Team/Career Mode/Pro Clubs and realize they didn't improve any of their problems, but spent all their time creating their new story mode. The end.

When I saw story mode I was REALLY hoping it would start out like Fallout 3 as a baby but a Soccer ball pops out with you as Liam Neeson assists in giving birth and tells you he is your father Star Wars style.

If you play nba 2k16 then you make your own player however he has to have an African American voice actor an African American twin sister and two African American parents (bear in mind my character was not African American ) and a best friend and girlfriend you don't even get to choose so I think it would have been better if they just did what FIFA is doing and just made a set character instead
