If someone gets the formation and haves the option to have an extra guess at one position is a very good idea, so many times people scribble names out and write someone else instead. I think it’s a great idea

I thought Andy could add a safety rule so if someone guesses the formation they have the choice of a safety and when one of there players gets guessed they can safety it so a trump card can’t be use in that position

It doesn’t really matter too much. Guessing a formation isn’t worth no trump card, because a low rated bronze is still unusable. A goalkeeper just gives that guaranteed nothing gonna happen (most of the time)

Me and my friends just called it World Cup, and it was more like an every man for themselves type game. One person would be in goal and everyone else chose a country to be, and you had to say your country’s name as you shot. Absolutely love it

What country did you pick? I always go Cuba (cuz it’s short and easy to snap off if you get a glancing header or deflection inside the 6) or Djibouti (we had a joke on the soccer team that the capital of Djibouti was DaButthole)

should be able to guess twice on 2 seperate positions imo. a bad formation is still far more harmful than potentially guessing someone because of a 2nd guess

I did agree with you at first but seeing how much it messed with andy's brain on every section and made him crumble in the last guesses made me change my mind. I know people will miss guessing anyone using it but I think even if that were to happen it'll make the opponent pick worse players just in case.

My go to team in World Cup pairs is usually Djibouti when I’m feeling a little cheeky and Spain when I want to win because it’s easier to say.

I like the idea of the secret extra guess in case of formation being guessed. But I do still believe changing formation being a better choice therefore I suggest, extra trump card and that extra guess thingy and maybe in this case you do have to say when you use it.

We just called the game World Cup and there was different types of games usually one person or two person (teams) someone would go in net and everyone got to choose their country. Then it was elimination and last one to score in each round was eliminated until there was two teams left. Then it was first to 3 goals.

What about the option to block/remove their own discard if they guess the formation? Meaning like they would have to say they are using it for say full-backs and get another go at it, but maybe the guesser also get's another chance so it is fair?

If you guess the formation, you could have the option to like freeze a position. So if you are guessing the defense, you could freeze the goalie and the player could name his two CB’s. After naming his center backs, you could then guess his goalie after

To avoid the issue of saving your extra guess on the GK all the time, maybe have it so if you guess another player during the building phase (without using your extra guess) then that gives you the opportunity to use it on the GK? It is easy to see this rule be overpowered and always used on the GK.

we used to play world cup, split into pairs and then it’s like if you score you go rest and whichever pair scores last is eliminated and the others go back and continue until there’s a winner. also this game called “naves” it’s where you go around the freekick area and have to keep the ball in the air and are only allowed to score volleys and the keepers have lives. so essentially you start w like 7 lives and whoever’s lives run out is gonna get red assed (the number of people going to be red assed is usually determined before the start of the game) oh and if you are the shooter and you score the keeper loses a life but if you miss / keeper catches it you go in goal

I’m surprised they’ve never heard of World Cup playing pairs. We played that all the time growing up but we just called it World Cup. And we weren’t “assigned” countries we always just chose them and there was always the one guy who would choose a random country like Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

My and my mates played a game when we were younger called Premiership where it would be a 1v1v1v1 with one keeper, we would all tell the keeper a Premier league team each and when someone scores, they guess a team and if its your team, you're out and we keep going until there's one winner. Good Times. My future Son/ Daughter will have to choose a team in the Super League probably.
