Ukrainian citizens are being caught and tortured and killed, the Ukrainian women are almost systematically raped by the Russian soldiers. This is not what is happening to Qatari citizens, right ? What would you do if this would happen to you and your family ? You would expect support and help from any other country in the world, whatever their religion is
Beautiful fireworks ! With all the money they have, nobody understands why the Qatari authorities did not pay at all some of the work done, by Indian workers in many cases, to build all the stadiums needed; nor why their excessive working conditions made thousands of them die; nor why the families of those workers who died under the Qatari ruling, are not getting any decent indemnity. Beautiful fireworks or other beautiful aspects of this world cup, are no acceptable excuse for the violent practices described above

On July 14th 2016 in Nice, a crowd (including families with young children) was gathered in the evening along the shore to see the fireworks, a terrorist came with a rather large and heavy truck, and drove rather fast through that crowd, killing about 80 persons including children, and many more were hurt, sometimes heavily; everybody, you also, can regret that, but it is a fact, it is not pitiful that we try to avoid this would happen again, right ? I am sure you understand that !!!. When we, the westerners, know that such terrorism comes from radical islamic persons who believe the lines of the Coran saying they have to kill us by all means including with a knife, then OF COURSE we try to destroy the group of radical islamists trying to rebuild in Syria and Iraq the one time califat implementing the most radical islamic criminal practices. In 2015 there were in Paris several even more horrible mass crimes committed by a small group of heavily armed extremists. OF COURSE we are fighting the roots of those crimes : do you expect us to simply bend down and say or do nothing ? I do realize every war in dirty, alas !!! I understand some populations suffered under the bombs thrown as retaliation by some "western" bombers... that is why it should be avoided as much as possible. If the Muslims would organize themselves enough disciplin within islamic groups, so that extremist actions and crimes would not happen, some western countries would have no reason take retaliation actions France has had for decades the largest islamic population in Europe (about 7 million persons), they usually live in good harmony with other French citizens having other religions, because they are not radical, they are peaceful and respectful, like most islamic persons in the world. What is in question is not Islam and most islamic persons, the problem comes from limited but extremely radical groups of islamic people who try to spread among the general population the belief that every member of that population should find absolutely OK to kill their neighbors if they are from another religion. In every high level culture, there is tolerance allowing people from different origins and religions, to live peacefully together. The football world Cup is a fantastic opportunity to promote peaceful cooperation. Qatar has wanted and obtained the privilege to organize that event with the huge financial means they get from the production and sale of oil. That is why the questions in my comment are founded even though I am really sad to have to do it, because I know how much especially great hospitality is a very nice and precious feature of your culture; shouldn't your great hospitality be ALSO applicable to those very kind workers who accept to work long hours in the heat of your country, far away from their homes and families : you could be especially thankful to them, right ? maybe you do not like my comments if you are from Qatar, but it is the Qatari who decide how they treat the workers who worked hard to build the stadiums and other infrastructures necessary for this event.
