Lochore to Markinch on Scotland's new walking trail. Leaving Lochore and its rich coal mining heritage, we pass through Kinglassie, and pause at Finglassin's Well. We continue in woodland by Leslie, skirt Glenrothes, and end at Markinch and its ancient Stob Cross.

Many thanks Johan. I have fond memories of the stock-car racing at Cowdenbeath way back in the early 1970s. I'm sure it's far safer now than it was then.

You missed a treat not going through Leslie Ed - it was my home until I was 18 and I was married there in 1961. I’m disappointed not to have seen it. Leslie was granted the Burgh of barony in 1458 by James11 for George Leslie who became the first Earl of Rothes. I remember when at school reading about Leslie in the 1200’s so it’s a very old town. It was named Fettykil at one point which a paper mill was named after when I lived there. There were also flax mills in Leslie where my Mum who worked in them as a 10year old for half a day and the other half she went to school until the age of 12 when she had to leave school and worked then full time in the flax mill. She was born in 1895 and I was the youngest in a family of 7, my eldest brother was 21 when I was born in 1935. My Mum went back to work in the same mill again for just 2 years when I was 14 - 16 but the flax mills have been closed now for some years. I don’t expect you to be interested in all of my reminiscences but I just wanted to let you know that Leslie, as well as Markinch also has an interesting history too. I do enjoy your videos of Scotland and I particularly like your down to earth way of narrating them. Many thanks for such enjoyable and informative films and facts about our homeland.

Check out a video I made 5 years ago, Jane: 'Falkand & East Lomond Hill'. I think I went through Leslie at the start of that one. Take care.

Pity you didn,t like the trees in Glenrothes, its my favourite bit on my bike. Thought you'd get lost in Glenrothes everyone does.

A path surrounded by never ending trees can get boring. This is exactly what we have here. I'm trying to decide on my next walk next year. Return to Scotland or try Ireland?

Loving your films very professionally done and i like your relaxed approach to them. Being born in Glenrothes I love anything to do with Fife just wished i still lived there. Loved the part with the small dogs almost Connolly like story very amusing. Nice to see you doing your own music for the films being a bass and guitar player myself I appreciate the work thats gone into it. By the way what sort of camera are you using?.😀

Many thanks. The small dogs bit was, as is often the case, a tad alarming. I'm using a Sony camera; I think it's a Sony DSC - HX400. I've got my eye on a Go-Pro because the footage I'm taking just doesn't show up well on the telly and I'm striving for more detail. All the best.

I think the Go-Pro camera audio is mono, but what the heck. We're all learning here.
