Coming back to view this vid as it’s getting attention lately for some reason and… MY GOSH MY GRAMMAR, SPELLING AND THE VIDEO QUALITY! 😲 I’m so sorry guys and I even forgot to add the proof after my captions, for example 18:32! 🫣 oh well a messy video for a messy group, the irony! 😂
@@urhypeboy you must be either a kid or a troll with the way your channel looks and the censor of "dumb" camila and lauren have stated multiple times those shippers killed their friendship and made them very uncomfortable. there's literally no reason to ship anyone together
Totally right. All of them were meant to be great solo artists, they have the potential for it. Little Mix were born to be a group and they're totally killing it
@@kimb7692You can tell Lauren HATED being in a group. She even admitted herself that she never wanted to be in a group in the first place. Normani’s talents weren’t showcased in the group. She had to hold back in order to blend in with the rest of the group. She’s doing a lot better now as a solo artist. You can tell Dinah loved being in the group but she had to hold back her talents as well along with Normani. She even admitted she didn’t get parts in songs because the producer told her she didn’t have that “pop voice.” She even said she tried to change her tone so she could fit in with the rest of the girls but it wasn’t enough so she was just in the background of some songs. Ally even admitted she was bullied online for her dancing. The only person who really benefited being in the group was Camila.
@@Aaron-MackHartford its the truth, their dances were not it and their stylist clearly didn't know wtf they were doing, they didnt match outfits ever on the red carpet and it was rare for them to all be in sync while dancing
Well, they were insanely talented, had great songs, had a powerhouse of a label backing every move they made, and honestly drama just helps with fame so it’s really not that surprising lol
@@iekha_triples7718 aside from the jesy controversy, i cannot think of any internal problem the rest of the girls have. but that's only what we see and there could be a lot of stuff we dont know so i guess fair
The way they were treated… made into literal slaves. Leaves me with no surprise that they’re considered messy. They were all too good for a band but they’re all doing amazing solo
@@Grettss you haven’t listened to their music then. You Only say Camila cuz she’s most popular and her popular has died down a lot since 2019. All of them have multiple good songs out
@@liamdonegan404 yes I havent, because they are not popular and not a lot of people know their songs, therefore they are not doing amazing. Doing amazing solo is when you have successful albums and can do stadium tours and i dont think they can, except camilla
That's just simply not true lol there's a few who absolutely do not have soloist vocals and you'd be lying to yourself if you truly believe they all do
same ngl. i never thought to google their ages. i remember not understanding why people were complaining about their songs being inappropriate because i thought they were all adults
why did you not mention how Dinah was also, by law, a minor during those times? Camila and Dinah were both born on 1997, and Dinah's birthday is even months after Camila's but people only ever talk about Camila being a minor and put into situations she shouldn't have been in, when Dinah was right there too. I have a feeling that due to how her body and facial features looked, the public always treated her as an adult when she was just as much of a child as Camila was. having said that, really the only one with an appropriate age for the type of songs and dances they were performing around 2014-16 was Ally
Yeah I agree. Only Ally has the appropriate age to perform all of these stuffs. She was born in 1993 so that means she was already 20 years old when Fifth Harmony debuted. While Lauren, Normani, Camila, and Dinah were born in 1996-1997 so they were still 16-17 years old when FH debuted. And from 2014-2016, only Ally who's in her 20s meaning that she's a grown adult already, the rest were still 17-19 years old.
@@o_huskywolfdean7 Camila always had extra vocals and jazzed up vocals that did not need jazzed up, it was obvious (no hate but how did you not notice?)
I always got a bad vibe from 5H. Not because I disliked the girls or their music, but it just didn't feel geniune, ever. You could see there was little connection, and the performances were low in quality. From the stage to the singing to the dancing, everything looked unprepared and not even fun. For me 5H is a desperate try to recreate the 1D/Little Mix effect in the US from a management that didn't care too much. It was doomed from the start
This is exactly what I’m saying !! I have nothing against the girls or their music but they were just extremely disconnected and not as dedicated (to the band) imo as 1D/LM. There was a harmonizer commenting about them not having control or something but that has nothing to do w them not singing live, not getting along, and them putting bare minimum into their performances. LM has been sabotaged by SYCO for so long and still put in so much effort and get along great. Theres no reason why 5H couldn’t do the same. But hopefully their solo careers go well, I wish them the best.
Actually, after finishing the full video, it seems as if Lauren was a huge issue. She’d show up late, have attitude, fight w the fans, and literally got arrested. It seems that Ally was the most committed to the group imo.
@@thatbitch823 maybe you didn’t read before and maybe because the owner of the comment deleted my comments, but I’m happy to fill you back in. SERIOUSLY! What do you think would have happen if Little Mix and One Direction didn’t get the chance to write their songs! We’ll never find out but you’re seriously claiming that they don’t have a real connection? Have you seen any of the Fifth Harmony takeovers? Have you watch any good videos of them? Or are you just looking for the bad ones to raise your faves up? LM, 1D, and 5H were all treated differently. Just because the girls’ friendship is like Little Mix doesn’t mean that they aren’t close and connected. They were friends from the start. You can see that. But as time went on, they drift apart, but there’s still love for one another. I mean, considering that a member has left from the three groups, I guess they aren’t dedicated to it. All the girls didn’t the control that was put over them, especially Lauren. They wanted to break out, and that eventually broke. And you’re seriously bringing Lauren getting arrest for weed when others almost killed drowned in alcohol? Oh, but no, it must be okay because you didn’t know about it in the group. Why did you think some people do these things? They are stressed and are losing the control. Lauren has very clearly admitted that she lost herself in the group because she wasn’t able to express herself. Not because she and the girls weren’t getting along. They went on hiatus because 1) their label didn’t want them to put out another label and 2) they were in the group for over half a decade. They wanted to spread their wings and branch out while they weren’t able to because of their label. Need I say more? Or do you simply not understand because I can go way more in depth if you will like?
I'm sorry but I feel at times Camilla really isolated herself from the Group. Like for instance at 19:06 Ally tells her to come closer for the group photo. But she just moves an inch. All this time Camilla feels like that one girl who doesn't want to do the group project with others.
i see 5 girl who wanted to go solo since the beginning and were stuck in a hell hole of caos with bad management, and clearly they didn't enjoyed each other. Everything was just.....BAD. And let's be honest the overall talent wasn't equally distributed between them all so.....
Ok. Fifth Hamrony was a good group and made good music. I was a die hard Harmonzier, even til now I still am. I still feel like we have to be honest and say that besides their music and voices, they weren't all the way put together. They were sabotaged so many times and taken advantage of because of their ages and them just being women. Their group dynamic was always a hit or miss and progressively got worse as years went on. Tension built, shade was subtely thrown, and it showed in their performance as a whole. I love these girls, but they definitely are better off as solo artist.❤
They just never clicked they had their good moments but they would always try to out shine each other. Camila wanted solo normani wanted more n as for the other girls i don’t even know. They had a weird relationship. They would act as if they liked each other when damn well they were annoyed of one another there was no actual respect. I do think teh label messed it up. They didn’t help them. They made them feel like they had to do better than one another the label could of made it easier and allowed them to express themselves. It was a sad mess🤦🏻♀️
They had everything working against them, and didn’t ever get thrown a life raft . Let’s not forget that lawyers said 5H had one of the worst industry contracts they’d ever seen , and they were on record right before Worth It popped off , that they were more broke than when they first started the group, because they didn’t win the show , they literally had to work from the ground up . They put the group before their mental health, and that’s what was wrong, they were all burnt out before realizing they were . They had been so wronged by the industry. That’s why 5H girls take so long to release solo music, they have to do a lot of healing from the 5H days , those girls had it more hard than anybody would ever know and they were children, Literally 15-19 when they first started, they were so taken advantage of and vulnerable I feel bad for our girls. I love 5H but seeing how much they’ve healed after the group, goes to show we were fans of the image and machine that kept them hostage , but they tried their hardest to make lemonade out of lemons.
They are all individually talented, but they just didn't click as a group. They did not have that spark, that affinity that you see in groups like the Spice Girls, Little Mix and Destiny's Child for example. They were over sexualized when they were still underage and many people bought it, that's why old white man continued to explore them that way (aka Simon Cowell and company). They were a match that didn't work together. Camila is amazing now, Normani has a bright future, Dinah could really be a power house if she had the right team, Lauren seems like a nice alternative singer, and so on. But as a group, they didn't have the magic.
2022 and it’s the first time I’m watching this. I genuinely think the 5 of them are really talented and they’re not responsible for the dances or if they lip sync, it was they’re management that sabotage them in every opportunity they had.
Imagine being the bodyguard that dragged the Becky G - one of the most popular latin singers of the generation - off stage because you didn't know who she was
i mean what was she doing there? she didn't look like she was a performer with the way she was dressed - she looked like a random person in the audience. i would've pulled a random girl i saw running on stage off too. at least we know that guard was doing his job
Ally Brooke is happy with her show Camila is doing a lot of new music and already had 2 very successful albums Normani is very hyped for next songs Lauren released some songs that are so good, looks like she found herseld Dinah is happy too They're better now
The fact that camila blames her age and ignorance on being racist is honestly a crock of shit, there’s no way she wouldn’t have known living and getting educated in the us and being on tumblr especially at that time, she would have known, she knew she thought it didn’t apply to her bc she thinks an exception to a rule instead of an example that proves it
why were they even forced to keep dancing if their company can't even give them a decent choreo? they can do fine with just singing. trying so hard to be great at both just makes them look like a joke.
13:30 this is the whole 7/27 era, Camila was there but already gone, never smiled, never joked again, never posed as a group again, it was her on the side all the time.
i've never ever enjoyed fifth harmony as a group, i think their music was very repetitive and their bond was not... genuine/strong. HOWEVER, they knew how to work an industry that constantly pits women against each other. yes, we're laughing about how messy they were now, but that's only because we know who they are in the first place. (i'm glad to see where their solo careers have gone and excited where they'll go)
3:12 That was not an argument. Lauren’s mic wasn’t working during this performance and she couldn’t hear in her earpiece, which is why she kept pointing at it while talking to Camilla. She was just telling her about the problem, not scolding her 💀
OMG THANK YOU FOR CALLING OUT CAMILLA FOR HER RACISM. It’s the way that her fans choose to ignore it. It’s disgusting 🤢. edit: camilla stans pls stop replying to this. idk how many times i gotta tell y’all. i UNDERSTAND and ACKNOWLEDGE that she has apologized and grown from it. i was just tired of ppl constantly making excuses and/or ignoring it. i respect her for holding herself accountable . we’re all human and we make mistakes , but for the love of god pls stop trying to argue with me. you have your opinions , i have mine agree to disagree, y’all stay safe now ❤️
@@fgrdvbjmhkjhgcfdx342 there’s camilla stans who have chosen to look past it. not all of them but some of them. and i get that she apologized but i just feel that the racism aspect was brushed over too easily.
It's 2023 and I'm now discovering this video. I was a big 5H fan several years ago, and I always loved the music and their voices, but I never knew about how they were so messy behind the scenes 😳 like I'm kinda shook after watching this, glad that all 5 of them are doing better solo!
I know this video is old, but regarding lauren lipping the WFH chorus, there was more to it than just “saying the word work repeatedly”. It had to be sang several times in a row and she had to make sure the timing is correct and her notes were in the correct key, all while doing choreography. Her mic was usually still on anyways and you could hear her. On top of that, the chorus is the biggest part of any song and having the backing track ensured it sounded good every time they performed it.
They wanted solo from the start, that's why they were uncoordinated af. But that's why some people love them though, including me, and why they were successful despite that. Undeniably, they were still one of the best gg in their generation. But now you need to stan (G)I-DLE and EVERGLOW.
Sad we the representation for western ggs and bgs are so dead so we have to look for them in the kpop industry which literally leaches off of western pop, oh well
Okay so being a huge 5H fan back in the day, they were super messy. It never seemed like they never fully wanted to be in the group and their label just pushed them too much. I can only imagine how mentally drained they were and only to keep going after Camila left the group. They needed rest but weren’t able to get that. They weren’t dedicated enough to nail their choreography and I get the lazy vocals because they were tired. On another note, all of the lip syncing clips…I have nothing to say about those 🤣
FINALLY!! SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTOOD THE PERFORMANCE IN VMAS THE CONTROVERSIAL ONE!! THANK GOD I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGHT IT WAS NOT BULLYING.
The one thing I don’t understand was that she said that she jumped off but she was clearly YANKED from the stage!!! That’s what makes it look like bullying
I loved 5H and always will, however, i was disappointed in their overall progress as artists. Vocals, harmonies, stamina, choreography all remained the same or even got worse, you usually always see a group get better over time. It seems they all focused on their individual pursuits and got stronger in their own ways but as a group - no chemistry
5:00 they were singing live over the track, like most of the time. Camila sings louder that's why she stands up the most while the other girls blend with the track. and that's why Ally was telling her to calm down and blend with the group in the other performance lol And her mic didn't randomely turn off, she ran out of breath and didn't care because it was supposed to be a backing track.
As much as I love Camila she was ALWAYS doing the most like you are in a group literally called 5th “HARMONY” that’s what u supposed to do now I’m NOT justifying the girls but i can see why they ended up resenting and excluding her she always wanted to be the center of attention but at the same time say she was “shy” also the fact that she was doing collabs on the side (probably behind their backs) that’s just selfish bc they prob rejected a bunch of their own and at 14-15 me and my friends knew what that word meant so age is not an excuse for being racist 😩
The fact that camila auditioned for the x factor as a way to meet one direction cuz she was a hardcore stan but she became the most iconic / successful member is hilarious
The whole camren thing reminds me of that time Dinah had an argument with Lauren's then boyfriend and she said that Lauren actually wanted Camila, can't imagine how Lauren felt that day
I feel like they didnt work because they was literally turned into a group in 5 mins and they didnt know eachother they were on xfactor as solo acts and just got thrown together by simon
As far as the lip sync stuff, most to all of their songs have a loud layer of their vocal parts to help them with the choreo Worth It has the whole chorus playing while they lip sync to it and the verses are less loud. Work From Home has Lauren’s chorus up front to help her. Flex has Dinah and Normani’s Chorus up front to help them. The only part I can’t defend is “I Lied” for Normani’s high note. But most artists use layers of the original audio to help them keep a heavy and set in stone chorus when performing live. The chorus/hook is the important part to keep lively since it is what makes the song really and it is what the audience know the most.
Lauren sang live the chorus of Work From Home over playback in nearly every performance. You can clearly hear her mic feed and the playback, although in some performances, the playback was louder than her mic. This "was Camila the only one who sang live" is just nonsense as they sang live more times than not. And they all have lip synced.
only think I fine weird is them saying Camilla made it be known that she always wanted to do her own thing. But then their official statement saying they were never informed 🙄 🤔
they always wanted to be the best, the best dancer, the best vocalist, the prettiest, the hottest and overall trying to outshine their members. That´s why they didn´t harmonize and work out, cause they were all acting like solo artist.
21:38 gurl.. that was bullying tho 😭 are you delusional? It was a publicity stunt too, they knew it was gonna get people riled up cuz it was shady af. They could’ve moved on as a group and not thrown shade but they actively made the decision to do it , or at least their label did. It was petty and mean regardless. If you don’t like Camila then just say that, instead of saying that something that was clearly intended to be rude wasn’t bullying, cuz it was.
throwing shade isn't the same as bullying just to throw that out there, if it was constant thing then yh bullying but if it was just ONCE then it was just a shade being thrown which happens on a daily, it's time to grow up fr
@@tolanisimpson5360 Same. Something that bothered me alot is when they sang in acoustic and they sounded relatively good and suddenly she started to let out those "uuhhh ahhh" which in my opinion ruined the song
Was just relaxing and having my tea watching this and i saw that part when camila cabello was dancing behind ty dolla and that face she make.. I just spitted the whole tea from my mouth like omg! I literally die🤣🤣🤣
23:33 it is actually disgusting when some "fans" ship celebrities with each other in a sexual way, it has happened with a big amount of famous people, I think the most recent case was with dream, but I just heard about it, I don't have that many information, but even with the fact of people being obsessed with two people getting together or just finding a excuse to sexualise gay people is disgusting, it happened alot to one direction, and it happened alot with kpop idols. it's not funny or entertaining, or sexy, it's embarrassing, making to people feel uncomfortable with each other is embarrassing, shipping idols just for something you think is a "sexual tension" is just sick, the amount of free time these people have to analyze every interview, every stage, every video, edit and post is surprising, if people have that amount of time to make trash, why don't do something useful? I just hate people like this, this people are the type of people that will never understand how a relationship works.
Camilla should’ve stayed as a soloist from the start. She just wasn’t meant to be in a group. She ruined A LOT of the harmonies and tried so hard to stand out in every way possible. It’s 100% understandable why the other girls were annoyed by her.
I really appreciate your time and effort in this. I watched the entire thing. I just want to say it required pausing a lot to read since text goes by so quickly. You're great at your research. Maybe voice over with a mic next time. It also ended really randomly. It didn't wrap up the context of things or give an update on where each girl is now. I want to be honest and say I saw Ally live on tour with Bazzi and it was pretty bad. She tripped a few times on these stilleto heels and sang Selena Quintanilla Perez songs like a wannabe. I say this as a reflection of her time in 5H. It seems no one ever took the time to polish all of them up from choreography live, to singing as well. They just didn't make sense together unfortunately.
