I think figs may be a bit much for me up here in Tyrone/Donegal, at the bottom of a hill, right beside a river. Lee Reich has some very good info on growing figs in cold climates. I think that's the name of his book, now I mention it. Can most likely trade you some decent scion wood for apple trees next year. Going to be doing some grafting this year. Dabinett & Somerset Redstreak are two cider verities I should have scions for next year. The rest aren't overly exciting, but I'm going to try and get some sort of wee exchange going with others in Ireland.

Hi Karl, I would be interested in smith and black madera. I can buy or I have a potted green greek fig variety or/and Jerusalem fig which offers early growth and seems to hold up better than other varieties to cold weather and it is a good producer, if your interested.
